 Though the jungle and desert was the dreaded oasis. One that most hated, despised, never wished to return to, mainly those who had lost everything there. b*****d children, slaves, foolish lions, old generals, even former princesses. Yet by the watering hole was one of those b*****d children of the self-proclaimed Lord Nyekundu of the oasis. It was the female birthed to Malika'Eusi who looked so much like her deceased father but with green running down her spine instead of his trade mark salmon that decorated most of her half-siblings.
The female was resting with her head settled upon her paws laying on her side because of her much to large belly that could only mean months into a pregnancy. Yes, the proud female was heavy with cubs and was bound to go into labor at any second. In fact that second was this very one. She was jerked awake by the sudden contractions and let out a groan of pain.
Closing her eyes tightly she wished that one of her sisters or even her mother was nearby to help her with this pain. Childbirth was a difficult thing she had no experience in.

Her breathing grew very shallow as she reached out above her extending her claws and digging them deep into the sand with every burst of pain that took her body over. Grunting she closed her eyes tightly as she felt something making it's way out of her. It felt like she was being torn apart, the pain when suddenly it was gone.
A small white and dark red cub had just escaped from her womb and was completely covered in blood. A light smile graced her lips as she pulled her paw from the sand retracting her claws and scooped the male towards her running her rough tongue over his fur when another contraction had her cry out in pain.

The second child was coming hard and fast, but it wasn't nearly as painful as birthing the first cub and before she knew it a little girl was born into the world. Scooping the mostly black female towards her she proceeded to clean her but didn't have much time to start when she felt yet another one pushing it's way into the world.
This one was bigger than the others, or at least it felt like it. Gasping for breath she pushed as the gray male pushed his way into the world. He was taking longer than the other too had, the first male and made her feel like she was on fire where as the girl slipped out with ease and now this gray male was taking his time before finally slipping free. Pulling him towards her she began to relax thinking that he was the last one.
She was wrong.

Tama had licked the gray male clean and was going back to the little black female when a jolt of pain surged through her body. Another cub was making it's way to freedom. Forcing herself to breath deeply she winced in pain as the last child finally came through. It was over before she knew it.
A little white and green female had made her way into the world. Smiling happily she brought the little girl to her running her tongue over the top of her head to begin cleaning them. Tama knew she had to moved them, it wasn't good for them to be out here and vulnerable. She needed to move them to her father's old resting quarters. Once she finished cleaning she looked around to make sure nothing was close that could harm them.
Shakily she stood wishing that someone was around willing to help her move her precious children. At first she saw no one but slowly a figure came out in the distance, a canine.

 Black paws beat against the hot sand as Sharia'Lejali made her was over to the lioness she had spotted only moments ago. It had been a while since the maned wolf had been to the oasis but a few days ago something pulled her there, resulting in her parting with her mother and younger sister. The 'masked' female quickened her pace when she had caught sight of something in obvious pain and as she neared she saw that it was a feline giving birth.
"Do you need any help?" she called out politely as she came upon Tama and her new born children. "Don't worry, I won't eat them. I swear." she stated with a slight chuckle.

Tama was wary of the female as she approached unsure if she could trust the wolf or not. However the dire need to move her children into safety won her over. "Yes, if you'd be so kind. I need to move them over there." she gestured back with her head to the ruins of the two-leggers building. "The room lined with furs." she stated gathering the mostly white male gently into her maw.
She began to pad off towards the broken building before she glanced back, her eyes narrowed. "Anything happens to them and you're dead." she mumbled before continuing on her way.
Gently she set the male onto the furs before padding back quickly to gather the water marked female.

Lejali nodded understanding the females threat. She was a protective new mother, as her mother had been with her sister Wimbo. Siria had never been the best mother to Lejali but she didn't mind and respected the fact that her mother wished to get things right with her second child. That didn't say she wasn't jealous though, she was but she would never show it. "Of course." she replied with a nod of her head before scooping the black female into her maw gently and padding off to the room arching a brow as she saw the many furs that littered the ground.
Setting the female beside her sibling she padded off to retrieve the last male. It wasn't long before they were all there and Tama was laying down allowing them to feed. "You'll be a good mother." she commented standing by the entrance.

The green-striped female had settled down beside her new born children giving each a light nuzzle before pulling back to allow them to seek food. She had settled her head back on to one of the nearby furs before Lejali's words reached her ears. Lifting her head she tilted it in confusion. "How do you know?" she asked her voice soft and quiet.
Her tone revealed that she was actually scared, that she was afraid that she wouldn't be a good mother to her children. Sure she hated the b*****d that raped her and impregnated her but she would never take it out on the children. They were more hers than his, he would probably never know about them anyway. Still Tama was afraid. She wanted to be everything to them that her mother wasn't. She wanted to be there for her children, she wanted to nurture them, care for them. To actually play a part in their lives unlike her mother who had abandoned her and her siblings.
Gritting her teeth at the memory she shook her head.

"Because you're everything my mother wasn't." she replied solemnly before stepping back away from the female and the entrance. "I'll take my leave now. May we meet again." she whispered before turning away and trotting off out of the building and onto the sand. Her pace was slow at first but it slowly picked up speed and soon she was running.
As for where she was running to Lejali didn't know but it didn't matter since the wind would take her where ever she needed to be. It always did.

Tama furrowed her brow at the others words as soon as they traveled to her ears. They were cryptic yet not and she simply didn't understand. Opening her may she almost replied before the canine spoke again preventing her from doing so. Slowly she nodded her head. "Thank you." she mumbled before nestling her head down again. Yellow eyes gazed lovingly upon her cubs before slowly closing.
The whole ordeal had the lioness exhausted and she really needed some sleep. She would give them their name soon..
