i've been playing for three years and been taking lessons for 18 months i wanted to know when i should stop taking lessons

dont quit! i wish i could get lessons! you should try to learn everything you can from him, and you end up surpasing him then ya, quit (just like jimmy paige =)

yeah my teacher is amazing he tried out for the red hot chili peppers when they were looking for one back in the late 80's and got to the final audition but dropped out because i took a really long time.

Why stop? There's always something new to learn. Either wait until he tells you you've graduated or he tells you that there is nothing more to learn. Or wait until you're the one teaching him ^^

keep taking them , there is always somethin new to learn .
no matter what , and if your teacher cant teach you somethin new ... he sucks . Get a new one or somethin lol

MAKQ keep taking them , there is always somethin new to learn . no matter what , and if your teacher cant teach you somethin new ... he sucks . Get a new one or somethin lol Music is endless !!! lol

oh yeah definitely keep learning anything you can. i'm a self-taught guitarist, and there's plenty of things i don't know that they teach you in lessons.

You should keep getting lessons.
I had a really good teacher but i had to quit because of time issues.
I'd go back if i had more time.
