The Keys to the Kingdom by Garth Nix (Really wierd, just give it a chance)

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor (a twisted version of Alice in Wonderland)

And if you're into the crazy s**t that I like read the Sabriel Trilogy (again, by Garth Nix)

The Wheel Of Time. Series.
Most epic swords/magic/evil books ever written.
The story has so many charecters and is so complex even i cant remember all the names.
Oh, and has some bloody, epic and above all relavent battle scenes.
Have to be patient with it though, lots of plot.

I'd heartily recommend Robin Hobb, Farseer trilogy. Some memorable characters there, and plenty of swords and drama. Main character is an assassin. Need I say more? VERY good read, and deeply satisfying. I think about the books nearly every day, and I've read them over three times!! All six!!! (Yes, I know I'm a geek...)
um...
can't think of any other books within recent memory that i've read for pleasure....besides historical fiction....

look into the dragonlance book series. it is really good. the best 3 are DRAGONS OF AUTUMN TWILIGHT, DRAGONS OF WINTER NIGHT, and DRAGONS OF SPRING DAWNING. it is very important to read these 3 because most of the other books in the series come after these and you will need to know what happened in these to understand stuff

Lynn Flewingways' Nightrunner series.
The main characters have a gay relationship (just incase you're against that sort of thing and buy it and then freak out). But the only thing that happens is that they kiss at the end of the series.
Jim Butchers' two series are really good as well. One set now in chicago (the Dresden Files series) and another one is in a made up spot ( the Codex Alera).

Annnddd, Niel Gaimans books. All of them are amazing.

Look up the Author Tamora Pierce
I guess ther books are a bit girly. and maybe feminist.

Ha ha! It's you again!? Well the other books I suggested will pretty much cover this as well and I'd like to add that Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier and all her other books are books that you will like. Also I just thought of Amelia-Atwater Rhodes she does vampires and shapeshifters, witches and mercenaries but their are quite a few fight scenes and you will especially like the book Midnight Predator, Demon In My View, and Shattered Mirror. Enjoy these books but when your finished please tell me how you liked them as my reward for the sharing of these titles. heart

I highly recommend the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. Yes, grant you, they are a little childish, but have great fight scenes.

I would recommend the Starlight and Shadows series, it's one of my favorite series, or even the Dark Elf Trilogy. Both amazing series I've read.
