I just think it is funny how they make such a big deal about people being virgins in Xena. Like the Hestian Virgins in a Comedy of Eros. And than Priestess Leah, and than Genia in Many Happy Returns.

X:WP works by turning up the volume on the stuff that everyone half-educated half-remembers about the Greco-roman world.
And everyone half-educated half-remembers that the Greco-roman world had a priestess class of holy virgins.
So into the mix they go.
They're then granted their prominence since people are turned on by the idea of virgins and X:WP is a sexual show.
