A pale yellow lioness walked slowly up a gentle slope of an embankment. Clearly her mind was not on the road ahead for her gaze was turned dreamily skywards. A look of pure confusion and thoughtfulness graced her pretty maw. Clearly something was on ehr mind and as she lopped gracefully up the gentle slope her paws caught on a branch.

Without a moment of thought she tripped and rolled back down the way she had come, all grace and daintyness lost in her tumble to the bottom. She landed, softly, at the bottom in a pile of thick leaves her paw draped over her face.

"Owowowowwoww" she mumbled, a deep sigh escaping her maw as she rolled over on to her back. This was clearly not going to be her lucky day.

Sorry, I'm too lazy to go find his uncerted pic. XD

From the top of the hill came the sound of chuckling. The sound came from a rather large darkly-colored lion, his pale blue eyes full of mirth. He looked at the lioness's face, though, and tried to quell the chuckles, with little success.

"I'm sorry, that was just.... I mean you...."

Another look at her and he stopped laughing, though his sky-colored orbs still held traces of amusement.

"Sorry," he mumbled sheepishly as he leaped down the hill. He leaned over her and gazed at her face, genuine concern mixed in with the amusement.

"Are you alright, miss?"

Leaping to her foot paws in a split second the soft yellow lioness looked at the big dark male with a lash and a glare. Just what she needed. Some boy laughing at her and her missfortunes. Only Banda was allowed that curtesy.

Huffing and snorting at the big male she glared through pale lilac eyes, sitting slowly she started to groom. Attempting to be non-challant before a stranger could be difficult. More so for the pale female as she often made a fool of herself. If first impressions were everything she often made a very bad one.

"I'm fine thankyou very much! I don't appreciate the laughter though!" She attempted to sound horty but her pride as well as her side were smarting from the clumbsy tumble.

Kubwa mentally kicked himself. Hard. He really could be so insensitive sometimes. But as long as they weren't really hurt, he found pratfalls really amusing. He blushed, somewhat ashamed. He completely understood her anger. Kubwa had gotten into several mishaps like this before.

"I truly apologize, miss," he said with complete sincerity.

"You'll have to forgive my insensitive nature. I don't come by intelligence or tact easily."

He gave the femme a sheepish smile and prayed that he might rectify his unfortunate first impression on her.

Feeling hurt and still not amused, she let the big male appologise for his insensitive words. She would normally have accepted his appology, for although she was a warrioress, she was still kind hearted. But her pride was still stinging and she knew her cheeks were flushed red from embarressment.

"You would have been very sorry if I'd have broken my neck!" She protested a snap on her lips as she started to saunter away from him with her tail in the air and a glare in her lilac eyes. "Then you would have had to explain to Banda that I'd broken my neck and you stood idly by and laughed!"

She snorted then sat heavily letting her head loll. "Not that you even know who Banda is..or anything..Perhaps I should have broken my neck.." She sighed heavily. There was alot on her mind and forgiving this dark male for laughing at her trip was not on her list.

If the lovely yellow lioness had been male, Kubwa would have probably just walked away from the situation, having apologized. But she seemed to not be having the best of days, if her words were any clue. Kubwa knew what bad days were like. He had too many of them than he'd care to remember.

He really felt bad about laughing. He'd...been away from humor for a large part of his early adult years, and thus still laughed at some things like a child would. Tact would never be one of his strong points.

He sighed quietly and sat. Who was Banda? He shook his head mentally. None of his business, that's who.

"Now, I really am sorry. And forgive me if it isn't my place, but you shouldn't wish something like that. Is it really that bad?"

He spoke quietly, in his normal husky voice. His voice was the most charming thing about Kubwa. He prayed that the pretty lioness would at least forgive him, if not tell him what was wrong. He had posed the question carefully, not asking too much. Maybe it was something really bad. He didn't know. But he certainly didn't want anyone wishing for a broken neck.

The lioness gave a rough sigh and shook her head. "I shouldn't be so melodramatic, it's not like Banda will be a slave after all. It's just, thats the way the pride is and I don't want him to be afraid of it you know?" She turned her lilac eyes on the big black male, her face seeming like she was acctually expecting a reply from someone who didn't know what the heck she was rambling at.

She burst out laughing suddenly, shaking her pale head. "Perhaps I should be the one to appologise sir, I'm not usually this manic I assure you. I just have alot on my plate right now. Nothing to worry your head over though." She paused for a moment her long thick tail flickering as she eyed the large gentle voiced male. "Well I forgive you but you should learn not to laugh at people when they get hurt." She rolled her eyes. She could acctually see the hilarity in what she had done but she couldn't admit that.

Only Banda was allowed to laugh at her clumbsyness and that, well that was because she loved him. "I just hope he understands what I must tell him. I don't want to loose him" She trailed off, she had so much on ehr mind why was she talking to a stranger about it?

Kubwa nodded, a warm smile on his maw.
"We all have rough days," he said kindly.

"It seems like you've been having a lot of them recently. And you're right. I have atrocious manners. Again, I apologize. I shall do much better in the future."

His tail swished the grass beneath him lightly as he watched the yellow femme. She did seem to be very preoccupied with something. He felt bad, he knew when things could be so troubling that you could barely concentrate on anything else. She had opened up to him, so he saw it as his duty to try to ease her mind in any way he could.

"As for this Banda fellow," he said tentatively, not wanting to step too far.
"You obviously care a great deal for him. And it seems to me, from the way you speak of him, that he reciprocates these feelings. If he truly loves you, than I doubt he wouldn't be willing to sacrifice a great deal for you."

Gurami looked tot he big male tilting her head gently. She guessed he could be kind, when he wasn't laughing at misshaps.

A gentle sigh rolled over her lips and she gave a nod. "yes I care deeply for him, I am just worried. I'm about to tell him something that will change his life as long as he wishes to stay with me." She shook her head. It didn't matter, she must tell Banda of the pride or else suffer without him. Leaving him in the dark just asn't fair to either of them.

"Thankyou for your kind words. I just hope that Banda won't be too upset. There is so much I must tell him." She shook her head, procrastinating here wasn't doing her any good. She stood slowly her long tail swaying back and forth.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you. I guess I did look funny rolling like that." She smiled half heartedly looking back up the smallslope she had stumbled down. "I should be going, standing around is just giving me more time to over think this situation." She sighed once again and shook her fur out ridding it of dust her lilac eyes searching the path she was to tread.

Kubwa nodded, happy in a little way to hear that she was feeling slightly more conclusive over the matter. He smiled at her, his pale blue eyes glimmering with warmth.

"I wish you luck with your Banda. I'm sure he will understand. Perhaps you underestimate him."

He stood and stretched his large body. He nodded again at the female, and grinned.
"I'm afraid to admit, it was slightly amusing. However, it would have been much funnier had it been me. And it has happened, on several occasions. I am not too graceful at times."

He turned to go, but stopped, a thought having entered his head. He turned back to the pale yellow lioness.
"You know, we never were properly introduced. It seems odd to say farewell to someone I haven't actually met. I'm Kubwa."

He spoke in a decisive matter, knowing she was in a hurry. He truly just wished to know her name. He felt that perhaps, he might run into her again someday. Hopefully on better circumstances.

Gurami stopped a paw raised in movement, a gentle smile lifted her maw. It was hard to beat centuries of conditioning from the head of a warrior female. Perhaps she was underestimating Bandas powers of perception. She let a gentle sigh roll over her lips and she nodded her head. "Thankyou for your words." She puurrs.

"I'm sure I would have laughed had I ben in your possition sir." She chuckles, knowing full well that her stumbles often looked rediculous to passers by.

Bowing her pale yellow head gently to the big dark male she pursed he rlips and spoke her name "I go by Gurami, Kubwa, good luck on your journey where evr you are heading." Taking a deep breath then the lemon yellow female strode off in the direction she had been heading before her fall feeling more confident of the words she must say to Banda.

A smile crossed Kubwa's maw. He chuckled. He was pretty sure he'd see this Gurami again, but even if he didn't, he was glad that she seemed to be heading in the right direction.

He laughed again. Maybe he should take up counseling. On that thought, he watched as the yellow lioness trotted off. He wished her the best of luck, for her and this Banda fellow.

With that, he turned and continued on his wandering, humming a small tune to himself.
