Leini nuzzled her son as he fell back to sleep. She looked at her mate and son with a smile. She matured a bit, is she said so herself, but that's what she thought.
In fact, she did mature a little, with the birth of her son.
She started to walk away from the two sleeping forms after looking back at them. The sun was just setting for the night, but the dog wasn't sleepy. She gave a shake to her head and looked up to the sky, wondering where he father was.
And her siblings.
Curse the travelers blood running through her veins.

The golden dog's tail swung gently in time to each of her swinging steps. She covered the night ground in an effortless trot. It saved energy, and it wasn't much slower than loping along.
Kusadiki wasn't given to travelling at night. She loved the day and it was under sunlight that the golden dog thrived. Her coat glistened, especially the white markings, and her dark mahogany colored eyes glittered joyfully in the day.
But Kusa was trying to get herself accustomed to the night. She didn't find anything seriously sinister about the lack of light - quite the contrary, she found she did enjoy the darkness. Her eyes adjusted easily to the dark, and she could make out shapes almost just as well under the light of the moon and the stars.

Leini stopped for a second and let her eyes adjust before moving forward again. She shook her head, knowing she couldn't travel too far from her mate and son.
Red eyes scanned her surroundings, small plants moving lightly to the night time breeze. She gave a small smile the moon whuch was giving light to the earth that night.
She pondered. Would she meet a friend tonight?

Kusa's step slowed for a moment as she turned her head up to the moon and stars. Just to make sure she was headed the right way. Though being a rogue, there was hardly a "right" way. Still, she enjoyed the feeling of having a purpose. She took the moment to make sure she was still in line with the brightest star, and struck off again, back into that swinging trot that covered numerous miles of ground with ease.
Then her dark eyes caught sight of something in the dark. She saw white - which she had learned fairly glowed in the dark - almost directly in front of her not too far off. She decided then that she could take a slight detour. She veered off her course and made her way toward the figure.
As she neared, it became obvious what it was. Another dog, well who could have guessed. Kusa smiled lightly at her fortune, and made her way toward the other.

Leini's eyes adverted back towards the path she was on. A shape was nearing her... She took a few hesitant steps forward, hoping the creature would not bring her harm.
Leini held her breath, and gave a hesitant call. "Hello?" She questioned what was now clearly another dog.
Maybe this dog was friendly. Most dogs that leini came across were kind.

As she approached, Kusa did her best to make sure she showed no signs of aggression. She didn't know if she was in this other dog's territory, or maybe a pack territory - though she doubted it. She never knew for sure though.
Wagging her tail lightly, Kusa dipped her head politely with a customarily bright smile. "Hello, there," She called out. Kusa was by all definitions a social animal, and any meeting with anyone made her happy.
"I was just passing by, and... well I like meeting new creatures," She said brightly, explaining right of off the bat why she had made her way over in the first place. After such a long time of not having had company, she was quite glad that she had had the good fortune to stumble across this other dog. It didn't matter to her if she was not friendly, although from what she could tell, the other didn't seem like she was about to attack.

So the other dog was friendly. Leini smile dat this. "Just passing through? So, you're a traveler?" Leini questioned.
She blinked for a second
"Oh, I didn't mean to be rude. M'name's Leini." The red-eyed dog said kindly, giving a slight nod of her head.

Kusa nodded an affirmative, glad the other was friendly. "A traveller indeed," She beamed. She had always been on the move, even since cefore she could remember, and it wasn't likely that was going to change any time very soon.
"My name is Kusadiki," the golden dog said with a light wag of her tail. "Many call me Kusa, though."
A nickname was about the most personal Kusa ever got with those that she was just meeting. Though she did like the more personal feel of being called Kusa, she didn't willingly divulge too much information, especially on a first meeting. That would all come later if she were to spend time with and get to know the other very well, and learn that she could place absolute trust in them and not have that trust betrayed.

"Kusa..." Leini tested it lightly. "It's nice to meet you." She gave a smile. "Have you been to a lot of places?" She tilted her head to one side.
She had been a few placed herself, being a wanderer. The Pridelands, jungle, and all sorts of places.

"Nice to meet you too, Leini," She answered promptly.
"You could say that," Kusa said with a smile. The truth was, she had been in plenty of places, but she often travelled so far and wide that she had lost track of where she had been long ago. It was hard for her to remember, as she tended to follow wherever her paws chose to take her. Or, in this case, wherever the brightest star led her at night.
((Hahah, same here xDD))

"Well, I wish you luck on your travels, then," Leini told her, sitting down, not really knowing how to respond.
"You travel wherever, then?" Leini asked with a tilt of her head. "What guide's you?"
The wind guided her and her father... What guided this traveler, she wonderer.

"Thank you," Kusa accepted the good will gratefully. She would need it if she were to find what she was looking for. Ideally, that would be finding her longtime friend, from whom she had been separated in a mighty storm not all too far back. But in the absense of that, just being able to find another that she could really trust would be good enough for the golden colored dog.
"More or less," She said with a little nod. "Well, at night... I always just follow the brightest star." At this she tilted her head up slightly to see it, shimmering in the dark sky just slightly to her right.
"And in the day, I just go where my paws take me. I don't tend to question them too much. They seem to know where to go."

"Sounds nice..." Leini said with a small smile. "I hope no one woke up..." Leini sighed to herself. That would be horrible. Her mate and son finding her gone in the middle of the night. How would that seem?
The brightest star...
"The brightest star point's you north, correct?" She questioned. She wasn't good in astronamy like her maned wolf friend was...

"No one woke up?" She echoed, curious, though she didn't press for details. If Leini wanted to give them, she could and if not, it wasn't Kusa's position to ask. She knew that much from the way she herself lived. She didn't take offense when asked about more personal information, but she shied away from truly answering, often finding a way to maneuver around the question and give only a vague answer.
"The brightest star... I would suppose so," Kusa said after a moment of pondering. She had heard that once, though she had never really lived by it, nor had she given it much thought. If North was the way the star wanted to lead her, then North she would go. As long as she was in line with it, she got the feeling that she would never get lost.
Of course, it was rather hard to get lost in a place she hardly knew in the first place, much less a place that she didn't plan on knowing or staying in. She was simply passing through, it was as easy as that.

"Ah... My small family. I wonder if anyone woke up while I was walking..." She said, answering the dog's question even though she had no need to.
Leini smiled at Kusa gently. Well, if the star was like the wind, it didn't really have to point north now did it?
It could be ever changing... just like the wind!
