Kira and L are very similar, brain-wise.
They both are very intelligent, and both are good tennis players xD

Both Kira and L are extremely intelligent and have awesome deductive skills and kick a** in tennis. But, Kira is slightly more sinister and L is very calm and emotionless, at times. L is far more peculiar that Kira, or anyone else, for that matter.

Light it trying to kill all the criminals to make a better world he is also a holder of the death Note he is a top student who is very smart, respected, and popular. L is the best detective ever, he is trying to stop "Kira". he is very sexy ^_^

Well, I DO wanna say L has got some serious connections and wealth and legacy as he's taken the at first unpresumed identity of all 3 of the world's best detectives.
Also, that Light sees through people and he's had no problems toward acting/pretending his age, but his desires combined with the Death Note has just simply swelled his egotism and cynicism. It's allowed him to benefit himself and those that deserve a supposedly better world.
And sometimes throughout you can't help but wonder if both Light and L aren't just somewhat alike. But, I digress to that...just a bit.

Kira and L are essentially light and dark. Both are extremely intelligent, and can predict eachothers moves. In all actuality, they were both light, but when Yagami discovered the notebook, it was like the apple in the garden of eden. He took the path that L could not take due to the fact he never found the notebook. One can only speculate on what L would do with the notebook.

Essentially you oughtn't judge a person based upon speculation, at least that's what L would think... but L did himself say he could think and feel like he knew what Kira would do next.

Besides from comparing Light(Kira) and L. Why not talk about the differences between other characters? ( I'm sick of only hearing about L and Kira..I'm sure other people feel the same way... ) Why not shinigami? I may not be far into the series but Ryuk can't be the only one. What about him and this "Rem" I've been hearing about? The topic does say differentiative ( Or how ever it's spelt..) characters, not differences between just Light and L. If we keep subjects like that, it's all your going to hear about in this forum of Death Note.

Hmm... Rem and Ryuuk, are in many ways totally opposite. As much as I can without giving away spoilers, Rem actually cares about the owner of his death note, and will do anything to protect them. Ryuuk doesn't care, all he wants is the occasional entertainment. Dropping the note was really just a game. If you wish to look at it like this, Ryuuk was worse then Kira.
