Halili had become much more comfortable with living in the jungle lately, and namely, starying away from the protective side of Majani. She had finally begun to grow up a bit, even if only lightly. She did not hide nervously as much, nor let others boss her around. It was still quite easy to confuse her, though, and she was still stuck on talking in third person, but. Every little bit, right?
The tiger-striped lioness hummed to herself, bits and pieces of a song that didn't make much sense escaping her mind as she made her way towards a deep pool of water that normally was home to a school of fish. It was still a long ways off, but Halili wanted the fish in that specific pond today, and she was willing to make the trip. Her emerald eyes scanned the tree tops high above her, peering to see if her little guardian bird had decided to return home. Kenna had been gone for some time, and only now was Halili missing her blunt warnings and rude comments.
"La la la~" she continued on her way with her song, a little skip to her step.

Xx'ami-da stretched, sore from sleeping in the wrong position during his nap. Glancing down at the sleeping of Jibanza for a second; he wandered off. She needed sleep, after all. He was fully awake in a few moments after blinking sleep out of his eyes.
X took in his surroundings as he wandered further taking in scents and sights so he could find his way back. Keen ears took in surroundings curiously.
After quite a distance away, Xx'ami started to hear a humming noise. The red eyes of the hyena peered through the trees, spotting a shape...

"Oh?" Halili thought she heard a rustle from up above. Thinking that it was Kenna, her eyes darted around, trying to figure where the noise had come from. But as quickly as she had heard it, the movement in the trees settled, and it was impossible to tell just where it was from.
"Kenna....Kenna left Halili," she said sadly, her body language taking a turn downwards from the emotions that flooded into her. She did have Majani, yes, and she'd been with him for a really long time, but Kenna had been with her ever since she was a cub, keeping the naive lion cub safe from any harm. Maybe she figured that Halili was old enough now to take care of herself?
Maybe, but that still didn't lessen the pain.
Another rustle. "Is someone there?" she asked curiously. Two rustling sounds of foliage in such a short amount of time wasn't just a coincidence. She saw a little ground bird pecking at the earth, though, so maybe it was.

Xx'ami's ears flicked again; this time at the sound of a voice.
'Is someone there?'
He pondered if he should answer to her, or just wander closer.
The former seemed to be the better option.
"Err... Yes?" He called back, not sure how to answer. He took a few steps towards the cat-creature, a bit cautiously. No need to startle anyone, right?
It couldn't be a good idea in any case.

Halili's ears caught a reply, one that she wasn't expecting at all. She swiveled to try and face the voice, but at first she did not see the creature. "Really?" she called out in reply, a bit softly, but not as nervous as she was beforehand. Maybe it was a bird taunting her.
But before long she saw a dark shape move in her direction. She stood still, where she was, as she had never seen anything like it before. It had something of a mane, a bright red mane, but nothing like she'd ever seen before. And the tail, matching the mane. It boggled her mind. One thing was for sure, she knew that it wasn't a leopard!
"H-hello," she said a bit shakely, ner nerves rushing back because she didn't know what she was facing.

"Hello," Xx'ami greeted, stepping a bit closer.
But not too close. He was curious, not stupid. She was nervous, he didn't want to do anything that would scare her away or give her a reason to attack.
He shook his head lightly. "Did I startle you? If I did, I apologize," He said sincerely. He let himself sit, though still on gaurd for anything.

Well....well, at least this creature was polite. Maybe it wasn't as scary as her mind has first illustrated. She stayed where she was though, too nervous for herself to sit just in case something else came up, and those precious moment of getting up on all fours to get away could come back to haunt her.
"What....what are you?" she asked, more curiously then horrified. She had never come across a creature that looked like him, and since it was a bit polite, maybe it would answer her question. Hopefully her comment wasn't too rude though! "Halili is sorry if she is being rude, though!" she rushed out, feeling her cheeks grow warm.
A quick glance around at the foliage around them. Well, so far, so good, she didn't see any other startling movements. Maybe the creature was on its own, which immensely helped the striped lioness feel more at ease.

"Ah, I'm a hyena," he said calmly, a small cackle escaping. "A it's alright, I didn't think it was rude." He said.
Curiousity seeped through. "Are you from around here?" Maybe she could show him around a bit?

Halili's black ears swiveled forward, picking up the strange word that she hadn't really heard before. "Hyena," she repeated, letting her tongue et used to the term. She had never seen anything like a...hyena before. Maybe they weren't native to the jungle, like she was.
She nodded when he asked if she knew these lands. "Yep, Halili's lived here almost her whole life! She's just used to running into leopards and not hyenas." She offered a smile in apology for being so foolish about him. Obviously he wasn't some scary creature to be frightened of. "Just lots of leopards, most of them nice."

Xx'ami-da's head titled a bit. "Well, Hyena's aren't usually around jungles, I don't think..." He supplied, thoughtfully.
"My old pack traveled, And I think there was another one..." Xx'ami dais trying to recall the Hyena he fought. "Not sure though."
"Er, forgive me, My name is Xx'ami-da. I asume your name is Halili?"

"Woooow," she breathed, fascinated, if still a bit nervous with this whole 'hyena' thing. Of course, she was just the same when she had met with her first leopard, so soon enough she would be over it. Just...the shape of the neck and the tail just seemed so odd to her.
"Halili, yes yes," she replied, bobbing her head in a brisk nod. She had quickly gotten over the shcok of others learning her name, since in her mind she didn't think she spoke that awkwardly. That was, until it was pointed out, quite harshly she would add, at her. Now she was trying to refer herself with I's and me's and my's, but she was still in the learning process. "It is a pleasure to meet you...ah," she paused for a moment, oping to pronounce his name in the same manner he used to introduce himself. "Xx'ami-da."
She smiled, proud of herself. "Can Halili help you with something?"

"Honostly, I've never been to the jungle..." Xx'ami-da shook his head lightly. "I don't know any dangers or... anywhere?" He pondered if he sounded dumb or lost or something.
He figured it didn't matter, since he was technically lost in the jungle. He was only there for a few days and he had stayed in relativly the same place at the edge of the jungle so he could still hunt in the plains.

Halili's black ears swiveled forward quite quickly. She was puzzled at his question. "Dangers?" she repeated, trying to understand what he meant. Dangers to him? There really wasn't any, but...you always had to watch your back. "There's just leopards here, really," she said, letting him know what she knew.
"No one really dangerous, Halili's been safe for a long time, but." She paused for a moment, looking up above her for emphasis. "Sometimes you gotta keep an eye up above, 'cause Halili's seen leopards hunt from up there, and land" she shifted her attention back to the ground, "on their prey to get them."

X gave a nod. He supposed it was safe. "What type of prey are in the forest?" He questioned. He didn't really know. Zebra certainly didn't come into the forest as far as he know. He figured he'd just explore to map out the area.
Xx'ami-da looked up to the canopy of branches and leaves as the lioness did. He didn't really want to impose on anyone's territory. He gave a slighty frown and looked back the Halili. "I'll keep that in mind," He gave her a small grin.
