Is it against the rules if I play on friend's accounts? I played on my friend's mage and leveled him up two levels for his birthday present. And my other friend was grounded but he asked me to play his guy to grind Mag'har rep. Just wondering if I'm breaking any rules. confused

Anyone playing the account other than the owner is in violation of Blizzard's rules... Even if a couple shares an account they can get banned for it.

Yes, but no one really cares and if they do... they need to pull the stick out of their a**.

Just dont flaunt it. And, of course, dont give anyone their pass.

I frequently logged on other people's characters and played them for various reasons for several years. While they don't want you to do it, the only reason they do not want you to do it is to save them the trouble when your friend decides to backstab you and disenchant your phat epix.

When we're raiding and someone has to go, we get the guild leader to play his account. People are pretty much ok with it.

Cept me, I got way too many epics now to ever give anyone my account details.

EDIT Plus I owe the gbank 200g and if they ever found out I HAD it, they'd kill me.

Doesnt matter, If u have permission from that person. Unless u logged on to a friends acc, thats not ur RL friend.

I believe if it's okay with said friend then you can play. I frequently take out my boyfriend's mage to DE stuff or to steal "borrow" some herbs from his druid for my alchy. He doesn't honestly care. In fact, I started playing on his account until I got my own. It's just if the IP shows someone from a long distance, say from somewhere in the US to the middle of Canada within a short time span that it's a problem.

i've had my friend play BGs for me until i got 30 marks in each, because my laptop was having difficulty whenever i played the game. and i got sick of people getting pissed off about how because of my computer problems we're losing rolleyes
it involved restarting my computer every time it screwed up on me, and when i got back to the BG, it erased every point i had accumulated as if i were just entering. but i digress.

i also helped her arrange her spells to make them more organized and easier to use when she was still a relative newb. and she tried (and failed) to organize my chaotic inventory lol

I do not mind the two or three of my friends I trust enough to play on my Acc, But I wouldent go around saying I was on someone else account.

My warlock is a tailor and engineer both 375. The only way I got the mats for engineering was logging on my friends pally and doing the farming. Sure bliz says its wrong to share your account but if its someone you know and trust its no big deal.

Besides how are they going to prove that someone else is playing the account?

That may be part of it, but it's mostly powerleveling paranoia. xp

blizz can track yer IP address, so if the IP is different from usual then most likely someone else is playing it... i dunno why they don't just ban all chinese IP's then that'll solve gold selling xp
