I knew I was going to run into a year like this!! It's so hard to pick my favorite out of a half dozen great movies from 2003.
First of all, I'm going to discount the last installment of "The Lord Of The Rings" trilogy, because it is only 1/3 of a film, although in all it's parts, it would probably be my favorite movie of most years.
I love "Runaway Jury", with John Cusack, Rachel Weisz, and Gene Hackman. I really enjoyed "Anger Management" with Jack Nickleson, and Adam Sandler, although I believe this is the only thing I like Adam Sandler in.
And "Big Fish", the Tim Burton movie is awesome, as is "Girl With A Pearl Earring". I liked "The Italian Job", "The Last Samurai" and even "Legally Blonde 2".
I loved "Lost In Translation", "Love Actually", and the first "Pirates Of the Caribbean". "Radio" was terrific, as was "Under the Tuscan Sun".
It's almost unfair to have to pick just one favorite from this year, but I'm going to say that my favorite movie is one that I still shake my head and wonder how this ever got released by a major studio.
My Favorite film of 2003 is, "Bad Santa".

With so many nice movies, I can't see how Gigli could have been made in this year. No wonder it sucked so much. Maybe if the year was full of mediocre movies, Gigli wouldn't have been so bad. Nah, maybe not...

2003 wasn't the greatest year, huh.
There are quite a few good movies in that list. There really are. Like Big Fish, Nemo, Lotr 3.
But I'd have to say Last Samurai was best for me.
