Personality: Somewhat cool-tempered, and on the quiet side, he's not the sort to throw a hysterical fit when he's upset--but he certainly is capable of making his demands known, and making his unhappiness clear when they aren't dealt with to his satisfaction. He's not, however, the overly surly, morose type--he's certainly somewhat arrogant, and enjoys attention from others (he enjoys being fussed over), and as a result can be quite pleasant, especially when he thinks it'll yield something he wants.
For the most part, however, he's not overly demanding, at least not directly--he is, however, proving to be quite inquisitive.

Still working on his backstory before writing it out, but other'n that, I think it's about as cohesive as it's gonna get 8D. Name: Orion
Age: 24
Race: Human
Occupation: Information Officer (working from home)
Personality: Smart, and very good at problem-solving, Orion tends to interpret things very literally. He's also very proud, and so is not only very aware of his own intellect, but also somewhat detached. However, because he's a very linear thinker, social subtleties and the like are somewhat beyond his comprehension. He has a very strict personal code of conduct, especially in regards to the use of his gift.
Somewhat quiet, and a bit antisocial at times, Orion can get pretty irritable when bothered. He has very little patience for people who waste his time. However, despite his prickly demeanor, he's not hateful, and can be surprisingly compassionate--whether he shows that or not, however, is a toss-up. History (General):
Skills: In the world Orion comes from, everyone is born with some sort of blessing, from one of the many deities that the people worship. It manifests as some sort of particular ability--or at least, different deities' blessings manifest as different ranges of abilities. Orion's ability is one of the more strong/useful ones (and one of the more rare), but also one of the more feared.
He can heal through skin-to-skin contact (it's more like, an ability to repair/manipulate the other person's body from within, when focused on it)--use of the skill makes the user completely oblivious to their surroundings. Also, while they could heal say, a major wound by getting the body to shut down the excessive blood flow/repairing the damaged organs/blood vessels etc, it wouldn't be all that useful against something like cancer (he could probably cause the body to break down an existing tumor, but do nothing to stop it from re-developing). Similarly, it's an ability that could easily be used to kill, also via the skin-to-skin contact, since he could shut down blood flow to vital organs/processes, or even stop the lungs cold.
The use of one's gift is considered to be a form of prayer, or worship, and so to use it frivolously is considered an insult to the deity whose blessing one bears. Children grow up with tales of one's gifts being revoked for abusing them. For that reason, to heal (or kill) for anything but a dire emergency isn't something he'd even consider.
However, because life wasn't always easy, even with a blessing that people never quite trusted, he's also passable in a fight--he lacks the strength and stamina to be a fighter by nature, but if pushed into a corner with no other options, he's able to hold his own. Absolutely no skill with weapons whatsoever, though.
Likes: Solitude, and finding solutions to difficult problems.
Dislikes: Being told what to do, having to compromise, people who want to ask a million and one questions when he's trying to concentrate; distractions in general...and being touched, especially when the contact is unexpected. Recently, he's also discovered that he -really- dislikes dirty diapers, too.
Appearance: Tall (around 6'), with dark blue eyes, and longish black hair that always seems to be in his way, even when he goes to the trouble of putting it into a braid, or pulling it back. On the pale side, however he spends enough time out-of-doors to not look sickly, and while slender, Orion's not overly effimate, and has enough lean muscle that he's not skinny.
Casual, it's not often that he's seen in anything more dressy than jeans and a button-down shirt, usually with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Not one to accessorize excessively, however he's never without one necklace-a simple silver chain, with a small, tear-drop shaped opal suspended in a tiny glass chamber full of some thick, but clear, liquid. Whether it's a memento, or something he wears in connection with the deity he worships, isn't something he feels a need to share.
