No humans, no humans was a very good things. perhaps if the human would stay away Ornith could get rid of the dram thing on his left leg. It wasn't very heavy and it didn't hurt but he still knew it was there. Ornith hated this, he didn't want to be marked, to bare anything other than his own unique looks. Still he had to put up with it, he was a captured pokemon after all.

At least his human companion seemed content to give him most of his freedom. She followed him but at a reasonable distance so as not to bother him. Ornith could get used to to being stalked that way.

He could only hope that his former companion was faring as well. He had not seen what had happened to her. The blasted human capture device had consumed him and he had not seen outside again until nightfall. Whatever had happened to her was unknown to him.

The wind shifted and Ornith caught the scent.. of her. Waddling forward as fast as possible, bag slung over his shoulder Ornith followed her scent. Entering a clearing he spotted his friend and gave an unintelligible squawk of happiness.

Ornith laughed as his friend a approached and took her own doubletake. It was good to see her, even their short separation had caused him enough worry. He shook his head " I'm fine and you shouldn't have followed me, you could have been caught yourself, you know what humans think of those with colours like you." Bell's markings showed that while she wasn't a true shiny she certainly had shiny blood in her and humans went crazy for that.


" My human treats me well, it just seems to follow me as if waiting for me to do something . I won't reveal any secrets to it. I have nothing to hide." Ornith held out his left leg where a small green band of hard plastic was wrapped around it. " It put this on me though, it helps it follow me even when i tried ti hide in a snow drift.


Downwind and far away enough that she needed to use binoculars Elena watched the pair interact. She was glad to see that the other Delibird was indeed the shinyish one from before. That must meant that it's owner was somewhere in the vicinity as well.

Ornith kicked at the ground in frustration. " Still, I am sorry you were caught, if I had been more careful, if I had not left a trail" the guilt left a cold and uncomfortable feeling in his stomach. " I am glad though that we are together again. the stories you here, of those who are seperated for year or never see their friends or families again. even if it just for a short time it is good to know you are ok."

Suddenly he sat down and leaned against his sac, " Everything is going to be so different from now on. Who will keep me from sleeping in. who will help me hunt the better prey, who will give me exploding presents just for the the fun on it." his words were lighthearted and teasing.

Elena nearly jumped out of her skin when another girl tumbled down beside her. Well at least that explained where the other Delibird's trainer had been. She smiled at the other girl " I'm Elena , I was in the big group that was hunting for pokemon the other day. I caught a Delibird that currently seems to be having some sort of conversation with yours, at least i think it's yours, you own the one with the shiny genes yes?"

" I suppose" Ornith wondered how long this would last and he treasured the preening. It was nice to have someone to do that for you. He would return the favour later. For now he merely reached into his bag and pulled out a small ricer rock flecked with red crystal " Found this at the bottom of the stream last time I was fishing. It reminded me of you." Sparkly things always did and Ornith was often lucky enough to find sparkly thing. you'd think he had murkrow blood in him the way he was drawn to anything with a shine.

Elena smiled and shook hands with the girl before handing over her binoculars. "Here they're a lot easier to see with these." The pair didn't seem to be doing too much of interest.

"Mm? Oh I'm Elena Summers and He's Ornith or so I gather anyways. I went through a list of suggested names and he seemed content with that." Elena knew that pokemon must have named in theirr own languages and that it was probably best to try and get something close to that if possible. " I'm not really training him so much as observing with plans to breed him eventually and allow him to raise the children wild. I have a theory that pokemon raised in the wild for extended periods of time that are then captures have better fighting skills they're truly used to having to fend for themselves and make the most of their senses. Captive bred pokemon just aren't as highly tuned and years spent under a trainer doesn't help them any." Elena knew she was babbling but she couldn't help it, this was her dream.

Ornith was glad bell liked the present, it was all he had for the time being. "I've only been hunting for one so I keep all of what I catch now, not that I minded hunting with or for you." Ornith had never been good at receiving compliments, he wasn't overly humble but enough so that he felt he couldn't just accept a compliment without giving some sort of reasoning.

" Enough of me what about you? Do you know what you'll be doing with your human?"

" Nothing wrong with being a trainer, it's the most common job after all. " Elena smiled at the other girl. " Best of of luck and I'll keep an ear out for your name. I'm sure you can do some amazing things with Bell"

Ornith laughed softly at Bell" I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be pretty or tough not both. Even if they both suit you." Still the male couldn't resist standing and puffing up his own feathers.

Elena grinned as she watched the Twp delibirds puffing their chests and showing off for each other. " That's so cute I've never really seen any sort of courting behavior of pokemon except on t.v. I want to see Bell battle someday. She's very gentle looking but you say she can feall give em what for?

Elena grinned " Yeah that's probably best. I look foreward to seeing you again. Do let me know if you ever do manage to get a peek inside her bag, I wouldn't suggest stealing it but if you could get her to trust you enough you might find interesting information there.." The redhead reached her hand out for the other girl's. " it's really been nice meeting you and I'm glad our pokemon had a chance to see each other again after the trauma of being captured.

Ornith was at a loss for words and he could only ruffle his feathers and mutter unintelligible responses. He wanted to enjoy the compliment but he felt he couldn't, perhaps oen day though, when he had more experience.
