Rahu let a small smirk draw across her maw as her eyes shifted to stare down at the cricket dancing across the old log. It was so unsuspecting, so unaware of the dangers that were coming! She crouched down low, her rump higher in the air, and gave a small test wiggle. "The great beast laughed in the face of the lioness, but she was fearless and brave," she said under her breath, her bright blood-toned eyes locked onto her target. "With a roar, the lioness leapt, and ATTTACKED!" At that point, she jumped, aiming right for the little bug. Of course, being that she was so clumsy and it so nimble, it simply flitted away. "Although she didn't slay the great beast, she was so fiercesome that it tucked its tail and ran like a little scaredy cub." She huffed, lifting her chin up, and gave a bit of a turn - as if there were spectators cheering her triumph.
"AND THEN CAME THE GREAT DISASTER!!" A great, wicked laugh bellowed from above as mud splattered down over the place Rahu was standing. On a small 'cliff' cut from the rock of the mountains, her sister stood above, shoveling the clumpy, clay-ridden stuff down upon her litter-mate. The rainy season was always a great time for cubs, espeially ones who liked dirt and bugs as much as Odjit did. "AND THE GREAT GODS TRIUMPHED OVER ALL!!"
Rahu frowned up at her sister as the mud showered down over her fur. No, she wasn't mad that she had gotten dirty or anything ridiculously girly like that. She was mad that Odjit had ruined her story! "Hey, I didn't say the gods could come do that!" she said with a huff, drawing herself up to her full height in an attempt to even herself up with her sister standing up higher. "And why do you get to play the gods anyway?" She brought her chin back up, then, with a huff, she kicked some dirt up in an attempt to hit Odjit back with it.
Odjit giggled and dived back into her mud wallow. She was so covered in the filth that you couldn't even see the brilliant markings normally present on her back or face, and she giggled away at her sisters attempts at retaliation. "Because i said so!!" She supplied and stuck out her tongue. "And i made the story better."
Rahu stamped her paw with a big huff, plopping herself down right in the mud and dirt without a care in the world. "You did not make it better, you just.. killed everything!" She made a face that her sister couldn't see - mocking, and childish as it were. With a little huff, she put her head on her paws, staring off at the log where the cricket had been. "Where in the world is Kib at?" she asked absently. She was sure if Kib were here, he'd team up and they could just take the 'gods' down.
"Killing everything is fun!" Odjit protested, "You should try it sometimes!" The girl giggled and peeked over the edge of her cliff-side mudhole. "Comeon up, the water is great! And i dunno.. maybe he's with Ata?"
She made another face as Odjit suggest her killing everything. It wasn't fun, because it ruined the whole story! What did she have left to use in her story if everything was burried under rocks and goop? Nothing! Then she got no where. With a small huff, Rahu got herself up to her feet and made her way up to where her sister was wallowing in the mud. She sat down across from her, paw reaching out to trace something. "He should be here playing."
"Geeze, Rahu, if you miss him so much why don't you maarryyy him?" She teased, never realizing what she was actually saying. Of course, she was too young to really know. Instead she worked on a big mud 'den' she was attempting to 'sculpt'. of course, without thumbs this wasn't really looking like much at all. "And it is fun! Because now they have to find a way to survive and work harder to rebuild their lives." The girl stated confidently. "Its better than them just winning all the time."
"That's gross," she said with a frown, shaking her head with a huff. "That would be like.. me marrying Ata!" she exclaimed, her nose wrinkling at the thought. Why would she want to marry Kib anyway? He had a big head. She watched her sister for a moment, then, with a smirk, she reached over and slapped a paw down against her 'sculpture'. "There, now anyone that was living there can find a way to rebuild their lives after their home collapsed down on them." She smirked, dragging her paw back. It was fair.
"HEYYy!" the girl frowned, then grinned, "Well jokes on you cuz there was no body home!!" She gathered up a bit glop of mud and brought it down over her sister's head.
"Well, they won't have a home to come back to now anyway!" she said with a huff. However, as the mud came down on her head she simply smirked. With a bit of a low, cubbish roar, she pushed herself up onto her paws and attempted to tackle her right down into the mud and the gloop. Oh, if grandma could see them now!
"GRAH!" Odjit yelled as she was attacked, and went down under her sister... but it wasn't for long! She struggled at first, then rolled them over and batted at her sister's neck and face with her paws. Though she'd never admit it, she loved the way they played like this.
She yelped slightly as she felt her sister's weight shift, and her body roll over into the mud instead. She reached up with a muddy paw as her sister batted at her neck, aiming to smoosh the mud all over her face. Girls will be.. boys?
"AHAHAHA THE GODS WILL TRIUMPH FOOLISH MORTAL!!" Odjit crowed with her amazingly powerful lungs. They probably could hear her all the way back at the main den. She tried to hold her face above her sister's paws, but doing that opened her up to weakness in her stability. It wasn't long before they both toppled onto their sides.
Odjit scrambled up, then and stuck her tongue out. "PPTHHBBHH" She dashed away then, trailing mud behind her for a good while as she raced over the rocky outcropping.
"Yeah right!" Rahu echoed at her sisters yell. Wiggling underneath Odjit certainly didnt help her balance at all, and once the pair of them toppled over, a large smirkish-grin spread across her pale face.
As Odjit jumped up, she frowned, making a face at her as she stuck her tongue out. Then with a bit of a growl in her throat, she scrambled up (rather undaintily, as well, for all the mud under her paws) and began to chase after her sister - although, she admittedly already had a huge head start. "Just where are you going? Running away because you're scaareed?" She called, drawing out the last word with a laugh.
"I'M NOT SCARED OF YOU!!" But she didn't stop running. In fact, she had a sort of plan in all of this. As soon as most of the wet mud was off of her and stopped leaving a trail, she rounded a bend and seemed to... dissapear.
Rahu frowned, pausing instantly as her sister slipped out of sight. Most of the mud had fallen off of her or dried to an extent that she was no longer leaving much of a trail either. However, her trail wasn't the one that mattered. Her sister's, with all that mud and goop, dwindled to a point and then vanished. Rahu frowned as she walked forward, nose to ground, "Odjit?" What if she had gotten eaten by something? Man, Ata was going to kill her. She looked up, eyes shifting around with a worried frown on her face.
Two glowing red eyes peeked from the shadows between a pile of broken tree limbs nearby. It was probably made by the washout of some storm a day or so ago. Underneath it, Odjit prowled in the darkness, her coat nearly undetectable once she'd covered the blaze along her back with mud.
Rahu sat down with a frown, her eyes shifting as she glanced around at all the little places that Odjit could have gone. "Come on, Odjit," she called out, her eyebrows furrowed and the worried look almost permanently etched onto her facial mask, "stop playing around!" She gritted her teeth, pushing herself up again and walking dangerously close to the logs her sister hid behind without even realizing she was there. Ata really would kill her if something had happened to Odjit while they were out here playing.
"SNEAK ATTACK!!!" Odjit shouted as she leapt from between the logs towards her sister, intending to knock her down. Most likely, if she connected, they'd end up rolling a good bit.
Rahu yelped slightly as she heard the sudden shout, and then felt her sister jump at her. With an 'off' she connected with the ground, but given the slight slope, as soon as she latched onto her sister the pair of them began to roll rather quickly. "Arggh!" she exclaimed loudly as she hit a standing rock, landing with her butt up in the air and her head and neck against the ground. She groaned, glancing up to see where Odjit had landed.
Somehow Odjit had been rolling, locked with her. When they stopped she was facing her sister, nose to nose. Then, slowly, with the same sound a tree might have falling down, she hit the ground on her back. A moment later the giggling began. "heheheheoh-oh-oh that was awwessommeee.."
Rahu groaned slightly and rolled herself onto her belly, staring at her sister with a bit of a huff. Then, her face split into a grin and she laughed with her, paws against her tummy as she rolled onto her side. "Oh gods, that was so cool.."

"Hehehe yeah..." Odjits laughter rolled to a stop after awhile and she continued to lay on her back, looking up at the great blue dome of the sky. She sighed. "i'm itchy."Rahu followed her sisters gaze, picking out the few clouds that stretched lazily across the sky over head. For a minute, she simply lay that way, ignoring her sister's statement. Of course she was itchy! The both of them were half covered in dry mud. Then, with a little flop of her tail, she turned her attention on the darker sibling. "It's cause of all that mud," she said with a little yawn, "you have to wash it off." "I knooowwww," she whined and reached a paw up over her head to bap at Rahu's ears. "But i wanna wash it offfff... come with me."Rahu frowned and wiggled her ears at the slight batting, then sighed and pushed herself up onto her paws. She gave herself a little shake, and then, without any warning shouted, "last one there's a wrotten egg!" She let out a squealing laugh as she leapt down the slope, heading for the nearest watering hole. "NO FAIR!" The girl replied, jumping up to her feet. She hadn't even begun to move when Rahu went racing off. With a playful growl she launched herself forward for the chase. "RAHUUUU!"Rahu laughed as she ran, little paws trying to keep up with the pace she was setting for herself and trying to stay, at the same time, ahead of her sister. She chanced a glance back as she was nearing the watering hole, just in an attempt to see where her sister was. Sadly, as soon as she did, her paws tripped up on a rock and she was sent tumbling and flailing into a big pool of water. "Ughn!" she muttered, right before she landed face down in the pool. Behind her Odjit was coming up. She laughed when her sister fell, speaking up to jump over her head. "BONZAIII!!" She helled and splashed down into the pull right in front of rahu's face. "AHHAHAHAHA"Rahu grunted as she got a second face full of water, rolling over onto her back with a low groan. Two hard tumbles in one day were bad for your health, she was convinced. With a huff, she pushed herself up onto her paws and made a big splash with her two front ones, sending a wave of water in her sister's direction. "How come I always fall?" she grumbled moodily, turning her back on her sister in an attempt to start washing the water off of her legs. She really was sore from all the tumbling and rolling around today. "Cuz you don't pay attention to where you're going," Odjit stated without a moments hesitation. She giggled a little and rolled around in the water a bit, using it to get the worst of the mud cakes off of her fur before cleaning it with her tongue."I do so!" Rahu said back, emphasizing the end of her words nearly with a yell. She huffed and sat down to begin cleaning herself, getting off most of the dried mud that she could manage. However, she still managed to look sulky doing that - she didn't like being called clumsy. That was almost like being called stupid. She made a face at her sister just for the fun of it, flapping her tail against the water and sending a couple of splashes out because of it. Odjit kicked a leg back at her in retaliation, sending a pathetic sort of splash towards her sister. "Do NOOOT"Rahu huffed at her again, puffing out her chest in an attempt to look intimidating. "I do.. SO!!" She yelled the last part, yet again, but put a lot more emphasis behind it and screw her eyes shut as she did. Then with a little growl in her throat, she swept her paw across the water in an attempt to shoot it right at her. "You do NOoo-ooott!" Odjit sing-songed in return. She jumped up this time, though, moving out of the way, and 'danced' her way down the shore a bit. "Nyah nyah! Rahu is a clumsy goose!"Rahu frowned and stomped her feet again, shutting her eyes and letting a rather childish growl escape her throat. Sometimes Odjit was just so.. annoying! She finally opened her eyes and started towards her sister. "I'll show you who's a clumsy goose, you butthead!" "Like you could!" Odjit teased and laughed, tail whipping back and forth behind her. "nyah nyah nyah what're you gonna do about it?"RAhu growled and leapt up, dashing across the water to her sister. Poor Rahu had a very short temper and it seemed like Odjit just knew every little button to press in order to get her worked up. She growled as she got close enough, taking a leap and aiming right for her. Odjit grinned until her sister got a liiiitttle too close fo comfort. Seeing that, rather than move aside, she waited until Rahu was leaping to dive under her and dance back the way that Rahu had come. "Now you're just being mean! I'mma tell Ata!"She hissed, landing with a thud, half toppling over before she landed on her feet. She gave yet another huff, lashing her tail moodily. "You're being a butthead," she muttered, sticking out her tongue, and beginning to trot off. She didn't want to play with Odjit anymore. Especially if she was just going to call her a clumsy goose. "You're .. you're being a.. a... MEANY BUTTHEAD." Oh yeah. scathing insult that one. She 'hmphed' herself and turned to finish washing herself off. End
