Near the outer edge of the Core lies the Polydeukes System, which bares the home to Pollux, and her sister planet of Castor. Pollux and Castor were two of the first planets colonized by the Confederacy Empire. Pollux, unlike her sister planet Castor, became a mining colony until the Empire's industrial revolution hit the planet. Pollux developed into an ecumenopolis based around heavy industry due to the prevalence of natural resources. Still heavily into resource mining, Pollux is famous for being one of the most polluted planets in the galaxy. The quality of life is very low, except for the insides of the tallest spires.

As the course of the civil war drew Coreward, a battle took place in orbit over Castor that decided the fate for the entire system, including Pollux. After Pollux was liberated by the Restoration Alliance, a major recruitment drive took place, which brought many volunteer soldiers to the Restoration's war effort, as well as engineers and ship builders. Because of Pollux's support of the Restoration Alliance, war criminals from Pollux were given lesser sentences. During the Tarsonian rebellion, Pollux continued to support the Galactic Federation.
