Weapons: Zanpakuto - A zanpaku-to is the direct reflection of the power of its wielder, a shinigami's spiritual pressure given physical form. While they mostly look like any other katana an old-time samurai might carry around, zanpaku-to are far from normal. The foremost difference is the ability of zanpaku-to to harm shinigami. Since shinigami are really a kind of ghost, normal blades and weapons can't touch them. In fact, "zanpaku-to" literally means "soul cutting sword."

The other major point that separates them from plain ol' swords is a zanpaku-to's ability to transform. Each blade has up to three distinct forms which its wielder can acces according to their strength and skill. The first, and one that doesn't take any effort to attain, is the blade's normal form. With a few exceptions, a zanpaku-to's normal form is indistinguishable from that of a plain katana.

The second form is called "Shikai", or "first release". The key to Shikai is learning the zanpaku-to's name. Discovering it is not the easiest thing in the world; some Shinigami never do manage it. But for those that do, they gain a whole new level of power. Easily triggered by an incantation unique to each sword, a shikai zanpaku-to changes immensely, often becoming a weapon far removed from a sword. Also, shikai zanpaku-to usually have special powers a shinigami can use, such as poisons, illusions or power blasts.

"Bankai", the third form, means "all release". Only shinigami at the Captain's rank, or highly powerful Vice-Captains can acquire bankai. Increasing the zanpaku-to's power by as much as a factor of ten, it takes many decades of intense training to learn bankai. Triggering a zanpaku-to's bankai needs only a one-word incantation: Bankai.

Abilities: Fayt is a shinigami. Also know as a death god. A Shinigami cannot be seen in the human world, they leave Soul Society when they are going on missions to balance the Spirits in the World. Those that can see Ghosts can generally not see Shinigami, but there are exceptions and it is a very rare gift.

Each Shinigami wears black robes with white trimming and a white cloth belt. On special occassions they wear a arm band to signify thier rank in their specific Division. The Captain of a Division wears a White Robe with the Number of their Division in Kanji on the back.

* The Shinigami have three duties: To preform the 'Soul Burial' and send ghosts to Soul Society or Hell.
* To track down and 'clense' hollows from the human world.
* To regulate and balance the souls in each world.

History: Fayt has just been a normal boy going through school, but all tha is about to change.

History: Rumors of a troubled past follow him where ever he goes, however unlike most, there is much truth in them. He lost his family when he was younger, his mother first when he was near 8, and his father only lasted another 6 years. There are many theories on what happened to the two of them. It's said that his entire family was involved in very shady business and that what ever it was that they did behind closed doors is what finally caught up with them. Others would have you believe that the erie tattoos all over him are burned into his very being with thier blood. He's never been close with anyone, most being too scared to approach him, others simply pushed away. His current name was given to him in his Jr year of highschool and it seems to have stuck.
Appearance: Raven black hair hangs down just below his eyes and gets longer in the back, down to about his shoulders. He wears a gray tank and black pants held up by a never ending silver chain around his waist. He wears a tattoo that seems to be one single celtic tattoo that runs from his feet, up his body, down his arms and fingers and over his shoulders, up his neck and even down the middle of his forehead. His eyes are extremely dark brown. He is always seen barefoot no matter where it is he goes. His skin is of fair complection in great contrast to the darkness of his tattoos. His personality is less than friendly and he seems to have quite a synical streak to him and he enjoys it. There are however times where he seems to be out and out visious to others.

Abilities: Quick, nimble, intelligent, with her families incredible eye sight and attention to detail.

History: Akane comes from a traditional Japanese family who, though no longer in japan, have still been successful in making a name for themselves. Her parents only expect the best from her and have pushed her to succeed. She participates in a number of extra curricular activities such as martial arts, track, and archery. Her long term goals are to go to med school and make her family proud as a doctor

Abilities: Generates electricity like an electric eel (Ginji from Get Backers). This gives Amai fast healing abilities, a high body temperature, and she can act as a magnet/battery. (Not awakened yet)

History: Amai was abandoned by her mother at the age of 7. One day Misty Amano just never came home. Amai continued to live in their house, but eventually the eviction notice came. Amai grabbed what little belongings she thought were important and went out to live on the streets. Besides not having a comfy bed or a roof to keep out the rain, it was much the same. She always took care of herself.
By age 13 she was leader of a small gang of kids, some even older than herself. She was a tough fighter and fiercely loyal. She stuck up for every one of her members. By 15 her gang, the zodiac, had grown and they were a force to be reckoned with.
Amai eventually got caught by the law, but instead of putting her in jail, one of the officers took her into his house and helped her get ready for school. Now 17 she is finally ready to enter a real school, though she hasn't been in one since elementary. She's nervous, but her tough exterior won't let her show it.

Appearance: Of average height Amai has a slender build and athletic figure; big, brown eyes; and short, blond hair. She has Aries branded on the inside of her right wrist.
