Setting:

The story takes place in the Home for the Unusual. The Home has countless classrooms where the teachers teach you how to control your powers. There is a main cafeteria, a library with a cafe, assembly hall, theater, and courtyard (the other mentioned buildings connect to the courtyard, btw). The Home also has four dorm buildings: north, south, east and west. There will be a section to apply for a room in the character profile. There can be two people to a room, mixed genders if you really want (^^)

Here are the dorm room assignments below (there can be more rooms in the other dorm buildings, I'm just doing 5 fo now cuz there's no one in them...) And I guess teachers get dorm rooms too...:

Each character can have two special powers, but must also have three significant weaknesses in strength or personality. We don't want any all-powerful characters, mainly because it's no fun for anyone.
For elemental powers, the opposite element will be a weakness. For example:earth over water, water over fire, etc.

Appearance: Rajani
Bio: She grew up in a time when nothing was spoken of. If a child was "unusual," it was taken care of. Very few unusual children survived this time. Rajani's powers didn't develop until she was six, and by then she knew enough to hide her powers. As an adult, she was an activist to gain rights for the unusual. Now, she has her own institute to help people like her.
Personality: Motherly and tender, she cares about each hand every one of her students. She's strong willed, and that's what got her her own institute.
Skills: Reading faces and emotions, fortune-telling (like a gypsy)
Special Powers: Wind and Light elemental powers (can control wind and bend light)
Weaknesses: Darkness, Earth, and cute teddybears
Weapon: Large metal fans that are strapped to her back

Appearance: Avalon
Bio: Avi grew up in a home that all but kicked her out. New laws forbid her parents for casting her out on the streets strictly because she was what they called unusual. Her siblings bullied her and she was always the last to anything. Her mother hated her, reviled her, because she not only had strange powers, but she had flaming cat ears. Her father was absent from her life. He refused to have anything to do with her. Her only friend was her "twin," a small fiery cat she called Imoto.
Personality: Hot tempered and distrustful, she comes off strongly when you first meet her. Once you get to know her and gain her trust, she is kind, caring and loyal. She's very strong-willed.
Skills: fist fighting, electric guitar, singing, and songwriting
Special Powers: Fire and shape-shifting into a flaming cat (like Imoto)
Weaknesses: Water, dogs, and arrogant people
Weapon: Attatchable claws that conduct fire energy
Pets: Imoto (the cat in the picture)

Appearance: Nodoka
Bio: His mother died when he was very young and his father abandoned him when he found out about his powers. So when he was just 9 years old he had to live off the streets. He always liked to stay away from people and so he found it easy to develop his powers while he was alone. At 12 he found the Unusual Home and he practiced there. Now he has pretty much has his powers mastered.
Personality: Quiet, charming, everyone seems to like him
Skills: (non-magical) Drawing, poetry, just being nice^^
Special Powers: Ice, Electricity
Weaknesses: Fire, Earth, Loud annoying girls
Weapon: Gloves that enhance his powers
Pets: A little kitten that fits in his pocket and he hides from everyone (name Kazoku)

Age: 15years (but he it all animal-like and grows twice as fst so he's really like 30. He still sounds young though.)

Bio: Easy life, no one casted him out and when he was of age he decided to help other unusual people at this school.
Personality: Smart, likes to get to the point, skilled
Skills: Bow and arrow, middle range sword, climbing, (is jumping high a skll? because he is just like a fox/lion and they can jump high)

Weaknesses: Rain, cold, walls (belive it or not. He likes wide open spaces.)

CLOTHES:she wears tight black leathery pants,a black tank top,black gloves that come to her elbows,black knee high boots,and a black and grey striped jacket that comes down to her knees.
Bio: Was abandoned at age 2 becuase of her apperance.She grew up an orphan and her only friend was Yoru, a little devil imp thingy sent to be her guardian.He taught her how to hide her powers enough to look like a normal human girl.
Personality: Despite her appearance she is actually shy.She is very intelligent, and very independent.
Skills: is very good with animals,reading,and drawing
Special Powers: she is a mix of a devil and a vampire and can use fire.
Weaknesses: light,water,her anger,and communicating with other people.(she only usually talks to Yoru and animals)
Weapon: her sword(she has yet to discover all of its powers).And a pendant she wears around her neck that can cause anything she wants to be under mind controll.
Pets: well...i guess Yoru kinda counts.

Other: She is a new student who came later in the year.In the daytime she has to wear a big coat to protect her from the sun.She is very afraid of people and doesn't talk much so she keeps to herself. Yoru is invisible and unheard by all but her (unless she wants you to see him) so no one knows about him but her. So when she talks to him, it seems as if she is talking to herself.

Bio: When she was little her parents died in a car accident when she was 8 and later found out that the only reason she didnt die was because she has used her shadow to prortect her. She is afraid to use her powers and tries hard to hide them. She is hyper a lot but has some anger issues due to her fox demon side.
Personality: Kind, Hyper, can be harsh when mad
Skills: Drawing, reading, and katana
Special Powers: can controll darkness and has the ability to change into a darkish-grey fox with pitch black eyes.
Weaknesses: light, fire, and spiders (eww spiders XP)

Bio: Penny's parents owned a casino, where she would always play around. But one day a strange gambler came and gave her a card... He said it was special, but she had no idea... She started to work at the casino, keeping her secret under wraps, but got carried away during a demonstration and was sent to the home
Personality: Funny, but a bit too optimistic, due to her GREAT luck.
Skills: Anything having to do with slight of hand or casinos is right up her alley.
Special Powers: Transformation & Animation (Making in-animate objects come to life)
Weaknesses: Cooking, Relatives, Her Ego
Weapon: That special playing card (the Queen of Ace's) and anything around her

Character Name: Hallow Taizen

Appearance: Hallow
Bio: He's Normal, minus the fact he has no soul and his right hand can turn into a Mallet. He got sick as a baby and his mother made a deal with the devil to keep him alive. In return the devil got his mother's soul and his. His heart was tainted by the absence of his soul but can still be kind because of preserved conscience. The kindness his mother showed preserved it even though she made a deal with the devil. The devil also gave Hallow a curse, Whenever he got mad his hand would turn into that mallet. He's gotten older and learned to control that mallet, but still fears he'll lose control.
Personality: Bitter, Calm, Scared
Skills: To hamer down his mallet...and to do yoga.
Special Powers: Earth and Wind
Weaknesses: Darkness, Water, and The Devil (he killed his mom. Can you blame him???)
Weapon: A mallet and a sword
Pets: a small dragon named Nigai

Other: He absolutly adores cat and dogs but he never shows it. He always wanted one but was afraid to get it because he didn't want to smoosh it with his mallet.

HAPPY BELATED NEW YEAR!!! IT'S 2008!! WOOT WOOT!!
Another random need-to-know fact: if you plan out your school schedule (for students at least), it is a 7-block day, two blocks in the morning, then a 15 minute break, two blocks, then lunch period (around 45 minutes), then three blocks and end of school (woot woot!!) This is based off of my own school scheduling... that's why it's so precise... heheeee... I'm a nerd emo but not emo... it's the only one with glasses!! (01/22/08 )

Avalon woke from her dorm room in North Dorm at 7:30am sharp. School would start in another half hour. 'Too much time. Why do I get up so early??' Avi asked herself. She didn't need an alarm clock, she would just wake up by herself. 'Ah well... Might as well get up,' she thought to herself. Upon actually trying to get up, Avi found her cat Imoto lying on her stomach.

"Imoto! You need to get up too! I'm not a bed!!" Avi said playfully as she pushed the orange cat off the bed. The cat meowed and hopped back on, rubbing against her. The cat's flaming tail didn't burn Avalon, but then again Avi's own flaming cat ears didn't burn anything either. "Stubborn cat..." She said as she picked up the cat, got up, and dropped the cat back on the bed.

"You stay there. Miss Rajani told me you couldn't come to class anymore," Avalon said. The cat meowed in protest as Avi got dressed. She was ready in fifteen minutes. "Another 15 minutes to go... Come on, Imoto, let's go for a walk!"

Avi exited North Dorm and headed for the courtyard.
