I was talking s**t about Korn just now, and my sister goes, "Why do you say that? It sounds like all your music!"
So I ripped her throat out with my mouth.
So, what sort of trash from the infidels have you folks had to deal with?

Brutal.
But yeah, my brothers refer to Shaman and Korpiklaani as "Gypsy music." LOL What the ********?
My little brother listens to the mainstream American s**t rock that wants to be metal like Seether and Linkin Park and and whatever the ******** else there is. He wouldn't know metal if Abbath's guitar was rammed up his fat a**. My older brother listens to country. I pay no mind to what they say about my music. I'm getting a guitar for Christmas, so they're in for good times.

I've been called "goth" 32587236528 times even though unicorns look more goth then me; and most think Iron Maiden and Metallica are the ultimate underground of the underground of metal so when I'm like "I listen to tougher s**t then that" they're like "omgwtf".

It's funny how a few kids that listen to a band for the wrong reason can obliterate the band's image. That doesn't really go for a most of the bands you listed because they're grade A s**t anyway and their image was obliterated from the start.
But I don't think spraying that Raid hornet/bee spray down their throats and in their eyes could be considered a crime. It's justified.

I think any song from any genre of music all sounds the same if you don't listen to that type of music. My sister thinks all my (insert sub-genre of metal) sounds the same, and I think all her indie and punk sounds the same. But there is no way anyone could say that Korn sounds like Immortal. What the hell? Blasphemy, thats basically comparing copper to gold. I don't have a problem with Korn though, some of their older material was decent, but their angst ridden fan base that think Korn is so anti-authority/anti-parents/anti-school and heavy kill it. I listened to the generic mainstream rock before I hit puberty, (I still listen to A Perfect Circle and Tool, but rarely, only when I get in the mood) now i've become a man and ventured into the world of real metal and found music that is more relevant to my interests.

Hey, I liked old stuff that Korn made. biggrin Sub-genres do sound quite similar if you're not active listener so I can't blame those who mix things.
Ironically, I've encountered this situation when talking or playing folk music. Usually I tend to avoid conversations about what is good/bad/light/hard etc. metal, there is so much sub-genres and styles.
And 'bout Korn and all those 'start to metal bands', I second Diabolical Masquerade. Just for old times sakes, when mood strikes, I like it. That was something to grow up with.

Also, I've heard a lot about metal concerts beeing violent, and people getting trampled and seriously injured. I've checked it up, and actually the rate of serious and minor injuries is generally much lower than most of the more sedated kinds of music. It's just an image that has been aquired somehow, somewhere.
