I had this short dream; I was in a cave, and there was this huge mound of fresh dirt, which was a grave, and sitting on top was a gravestone and two tall, white candles - one on either side. It was nice, and the whole dream had this feeling of birth and new life. There was this female presence in the cave, aside from myself, and just... there was this feeling as though this was new life about to emerge, and I just looked at the grave mound, knowing it was a grave, and was like life... birth... something's being born. And then I woke up. I thought that was a rather neat dream.
So then I was thinking along the lines of how death is really just a sort of birth, and how they're part of the same thing, and so on. I still don't know exactly what I think about it all... but I think I'm on to something. And...I just thought this was cool.
Anyone else have anything to say about this? Life and death? Death being a symbol of life? etc?

Frost: That does sound like an interesting dream, I've never had one that was ever like that.

To me I think that reincarnation is possible, so you can die and go to the next life and such.

but I also have this really odd feeling that you die and what really happens is like...you're just in a coma. So you can't move, you can't breathe, but you're still alive.

And then it gives me that horrible fear of coffins. Because if you're still living but you're dead...you'd be lying in that coffin forever and ever. Just listening to the thud above ground, or other things. Maybe even a possible muffled parade going through?

I'd hate that. To be just lying there...but unable to do anything.

If life and death were connected like that...blagh, I'd get myself cremated.

in my tradition, dying in this world is a birth into the Otherworld. vice versa, a death in the Otherworld is a birth into this world.

perpetual cycles. gotta love those Indo-Europeans, yes?
