 This was the first time he had ever really wandered off by himself. Everhart had emerged from his baskets only a few days ago. He had managed to slip away from his rather protective parents and other siblings but he knew that his disappearance wouldn't be unnoticed for long. He seemed to be the black sheep in the family. Everybody seemed so... outgoing and even though he was a twin, he was nothing like his siblings, parents, or grandparents.
Gazing around at the forest, Everhart felt himself feeling rather at ease. He wasn't sure why but there just seemed to be this wave of ease that was enveloping him. His tail flickered back and forth as he approached a small lake. He gazed down at his reflection curiously.

"Did you know you were that blueish before looking at your reflection?" Bly had stumbled upon the other as he was hurrying away from his father. He was usually allowed out alone, but his father insisted on checking upon him. Only this time pa hadn't wanted to leave. So Bly had run, only to find another colt staring at his reflection in the water. He was very blue, and Bly just simply had to know if the other had known that before. He strutted up next to the other colt and stared at his own reflection.

Turning around quickly, Everhart stumbled away from Bly. Everhart didn't like being taken by surprise, "U-uh. Yes I did." The little colt stumbled away from Bly. This was exactly what he didn't want to do but he felt like he had to. His father would be friendly and his grandfather would be social but no, not Everhart. He gazed at the other colt curiously but he was still acting cautious himself.

Bly stared at the other as he stumbled away from him. "Is there something on my face? Don't be afraid to tell me, I'd tell you." Bly snorted and looked back at his reflection trying to see if there was anything on his face. When he saw nothing he was confused. What had he possibly done to scare away the blue one? He looked back at the other colt in confusion.

"Oh uh no. There's nothing on your face." Everhart stared at him warily. Ever since he had emerged from his basket, he found it difficult to really feel comfortable around others. He got so nervous and flustered when he was around others especially not his family. Everhart was unsure of what to say but he managed to think of another question, "What's your name?" For some reason he spoke rather softly and he hoped that Bly could hear him.

Bly squinted even though he was trying to hear Everhart. "My name? Oh. I'm Bly. What's yours?" he blurted it all in a rather big jumble but had not noticed one bit. He thought the colt would hear it quite clearly just as he had. He looked at the other carefully, wondering why he still seemed uncomfortable. But he didn't think about it any further. In fact, in a few minutes he completely forgot about it and was unaware of Everhart's discomfort. He hopped closer to him a little too happily.

"It's n-nice to meet you Bly. My name is Everhart." Once in awhile he would stutter but Everhart was used to it by now. He couldn't stop himself from being nervous. As Bly moved closer to him, Everhart took another step back warily. He wondered if Bly was aware of his discomfort or not because he was pretty sure he was being obvious about it. For a second, Everhart's eyes looked a little distant because he was thinking about how his parents wouldn't be acting the way he was... It didn't take him more then a day to figure out that he was different then those around him.

"You talk funny, Everhart." as usual Bly pointed out the obvious. He stopped hopping towards him. Even though he didn't notice his discomfort he knew not to get in another's face. At least he knew one thing. "So where did you..." he stopped when he noticed a bird in a tree. He completely forgot what he was talking about. Sometimes Bly had the attention span of a squirrel. He was quite distracted by anything new that he noticed. Yet he didn't notice the most obvious things right in front of him. Bly shook his head and looked back at Everhart. "I'm sorry...what was I saying?" he asked curiously.

Everhart just stared at him when he said that. He didn't really take it to heart but it did just solidify the fact that he was different. Tilting his head curiously when Bly lost his train of though. "Um, you were asking something about where I was..." His voice trailed away as he tried to remember what they were talking about. He didn't have such a great memory yet but maybe he would later. What a strange soquili... not weird like him but just different then his own family.

"OH yea. Where did you come from?" Bly asked and grinned at Everhart. The small hint had been enough to jog Bly's memory. It was a funny question but he was curious. Unlike pa however, he didn't think much about it. It was just a question.

"Where did I come from? What do you mean by that?" Everhart really didn't understand what Bly meant by that. Hopefully he wasn't supposed to know exactly what that meant. His confusion was understandable... wasn't it? He racked his thoughts wondering what Bly could mean. Poor Everhart really did overthink everything.

"I dunno." Bly said and shrugged. Once again he forgot what they were talking about. Unlike Everhart he didn't think very much at all. "Did you see that bird earlier? It looked all poofy when the wind came." he mentioned and laughed. It was always something that interested him. Pa said they got poofy because they were cold. Bly wanted to be poofy when he was cold. It looked like so much fun! He looked at Everhart. "Are you blue because you're cold?" he asked simply.

Everhart looked at Bly curiously. He didn't even understand his own question? How odd... "No, I didn't see that bird. Poofy? Why was it poofy?" The little colt tilted his head once more. Why was this other colt confusing him so much? Was he really that stupid? "Uh. I don't think so..." He didn't know how to reply to that because he didn't even know why he was blue in the first place!

Bly looked at the other colt with unseeing eyes. He could not understand the other's confusion nor did he notice it. "Well, come on then, let's do something. I'm bored." he said and trotted away from Everhart expecting him to follow. He didn't even look back to see if the other was coming after him. If Everhart didn't follow, Bly would probably walk until he finally realized he was alone.

Looking back at the direction of his teepee and back at Bly, Everhart began to follow Bly. Why didn't he just go back to his teepee? He had a bad feeling about this. "What do you want to do?" Everhart was pretty sure he made a bad choice by following the other foal, not that Bly was bad or anything, just that he might not be able to find his way home.
