Like seriously.

A lot of the rappers I know,All just like to rap about sex, money, drugs, blah blah. All the worthless s**t.What happened to rapping about yourself, hometown, family etc.)
Sure the song might be good and s**t...But...The lyrics are so ******** up.

Example.
50 Cent

Edit-Yes yes..I know you all have gone through this thousands of times -.-

Well.... Since there like famous.
Rapping about money, hoes, drugs and sex is there life.

Allot of them do rap about there hometowns and stuff you just gotta listen good.

And allot of people mistake Hip-Hop and Rap as two different things, so yea..

Whats your point anyways?
Sex, Drugs and all that is there meaning even if its not much.

Common, Mos def, rappers like them rap about Positive stuff.
Positive s**t aint what people wanna hear.
I know i dont that s**t is boring. People can relate to the bad stuff because of how they grew up, or growing up.
Thats why 50 cent is richer than all these good rappers, he was smart about it!

yea there still are. Rappes such as lupe fiasco, common, KAnye west, nas, Jay-z, talib kweli, mos def, Immortal technique, Krs-one, Immortal technique, and others I forgot. But anyway yea those are some. ANd we still got dumb ******** saying that hip-hop isn't rap, Hip-hop is the culture, rap is the music

No,I'm talking about like, you can easily make a really good song with some meaning in it,and it can make a whole load more money and s**t...Unless your like 50,and you get all the dumb listeners [3/4 the world]...

In the words of KRS-One,
“Hip-Hop is something you live, Rap is something you do.”

I said people think That Hip-Hop and Rap are different.
BUT.
Musically...
The only difference between the two is that rap always contains the vocal element of rhythmically spoken rhymes,
while hip-hop can be purely instrumental in nature.

So there is a sort of difference.

You don't have to go in freaking attack mode.

All songs have meaning to it? unless its rock music that nobody understands! are you talking about staying on topic in a song

Ummm, it's this way. Hip-Hop is culture and rap is music. Rap is the music of Hip-Hop.

Hip-Hop is not all music. Is graffiti music? is b-boying music? no. So yea.

******** 50

Hip Hop is not Rap... this war will last an eternity. True hip hop today is a rarity... NaS is one of the only artist I know that actual makes real Hip Hop now. Lupe, Common, Kanye, etc... no. They suck, will always suck... I'm sorry. The only new school I can think of atm that is bringing back Hip Hop is The Cool Kids. KRS-One hasn't been good since Boogie Down and should just stop, Immortal Technique is hella nice, but will most likely stay underground... Mos, just stay in motion pictures, and Kweli i won't explain.
