Ok so here is the verses in question:
1 John 4:7-8
"Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and know God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love." NLT Translation
Pretty powerful verses, at least I like them anyway.
But I have a question: The verses says that anyone who loves is a child of God. Does that mean anyone who loves at all will choose Jesus/be saved ulitmately?
What about the people who don't?
Please help, I just don't have enough insight to see the Truth in this verse.

I would say that if you were a loving person then you are good to go. Doesn't matter if you’re Christian.

But then again
this isn't a segment of ask the Jew is it?

there is love then there is LOVE-AGAPE. john is talking about AGAPE- Gods love, un-conditional, no matter what love no beginning no end.its the love that led Jesus to the cross, willing to die for our sins. this kind of love is hard for humans to grasp. it means litterally turning the other cheek when slapped. it means smiling at your enimy, and not thinking (i wish i had a dagger, id gut you like a fish) johns books are all about Gods love, and how we can love like that. every human loves, but AGAPE is different, its not a human love.

lordstar, it is always a segment of ask the Jew. YSHW came for you first then for us, you and your people were the first on his mind when he dies, and the first on his mind when he rose, as evidenced by the fact that it was jews, not greeks or romans, who first saw the Messiah after he was ressurected. He is a Jew, from the line of David (through Mary)

There are 3 diffrent kinds of love.
Once you manage Agape ( mentioned above) Then you probably already love God. lol

Mary was not from the line of David but of Benjamin (depends on who you ask I guess)

Thanks for supporting Ask the Jew

Cool, thank you so much for the insight, I assume AGAPE is a Hebrew word from the original text?

First, Jesus said that "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." That means that Jesus is the ONLY way to God. We must make a decision to follow Christ in order to enter heaven, because....
"All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No one is righteous, not even one." (I actually have a question about that, but that's a whole other topic!)

Agape is Greek, and contrary to popular assumption, it is a human love, and used of every variety of love from love for God, love for children, to sexual love and the lust of a rapist for his victim. It has as many meanings as the English word 'love' has.

/lecture over

I see this passage as saying that love without the taint of sin (so, not lust, or oppressive love) is God. So anyone who shares that love shares something of God, and someone who's existence is love knows the God who is Love - that it is not possible to serve the god of this world (Satan) while living always in love.

But then, to break the cycle of sin in our lives, and the taint that it casts over everything (including our love) we must have the work of Christ, so constant undefiled love is impossible without knowing him.

What the... how did we go from interpreting the bible to lordstar ruling the world?
And what do you have against abstinence and faith based schools?
No offense lordstar, being seeing as you don't know much at all about this Bible training center, I don't think you should judge it and put it down.
Kinda harsh.
Don't snub it just cause it isn't what you think is up to snuff, or whatever your standards are.
