Everything was burning. From his arms, to his legs, to the parts that were already fish-scaled. Everything was burning and it was driving Ta crazy. The lack of fingernails had made a bad thing even worse. The itching went on through the night, keeping Takumi semi-concious on his bed. He was confused. Was this another change? It sure felt like one, but itchiness happens with mosquito bites too. Who's to say that this sensation was any different from the mudane? Eh... Rationalizing this wasn't going to make this any better, he thought.
Ta picked himself up from bed. A refreshing dip sounded pretty good right about now. Because sleeping seemed out of the question. He flip flopped down to the Lagoon and dipped his feet in the water. His body felt better already. It was like the water was the missing piece in a incomplete puzzle. He moaned with relief, and waded deeper.

Jessie didn’t usually go swimming off at night for the simple reason that it was, well, dark. And what little moonlight filtered through the water didn’t do much for his eyesight. He should have been sleeping, or at least he had been, he was unable to sleep for too long on his mattress before waking up feeling dry and uncomfortable. And tonight he had insomnia. So he had decided to try and catch something for a very early breakfast.
It wasn’t going so well.
Though the dark inky blackness he spotted a shadow, or at least a patch above him that was a shade darker than the rest. Ripples emanated from it, so it must have been someone going for a swim. Jessie decided to avoid whoever it was, in his current form, anyone would be scared of him at this hour.

One of Ta's ears poked up when it picked something up. Was that... Bells? Ta furrowed his eyebrows. It was coming from the Lagoon. Somehow, whatever it was, it was coming from under the water. Ta just knew it was there. There wasn't any reason or theory behind it, just there. It never occured to Takumi that sound the only sound that could possibly come from the water would be the waves.
Reasoning was lost to him as he followed the chime. The water was at his waist now. His wet skin prickled as scales began to grow. Ta ignored it, his semi-concious state leading him deeper in the water. He reached the end of the shore and into the deep, and still, the chime beckoned him farther, deeper. He looked into the dark abyss of the water, and slid underneath.
Ha? The dive had awakened Ta's senses, and the familiar sensation of growing scales had reached him once more. The chimes grew louder in his ears. He felt his skin convert themselves into scales, it wasn't just the limbs anymore, it was everywhere. They didn't itch like that did on land, but it was still just as uncomfortable. It was like fitting a hand inside a glove that was too small. The grip of the new skin held Ta's light frame tightly. His first instinct was to panic. But no, he couldn't, as much as he thought of himself as half fish, he couldn't breath down here!
Or could he? The thought had drifted into his mind. The chimes sounded close, Ta went deeper.
The Koi part of Ta's soul kept him under. As good as it's intentions were, it was going to drown it's host unless something intervened.

Jessie blinked a few times, trying to make out the darker shadow that was slowly approaching. In the gloom of the Lagoon he couldn’t make out who, or even what it was. All he knew it was moving, and even for someone of Jessie’s intellectual level, moving rather strangely for someone who could have only been going for a midnight swim.
Jessie drifted closer, natural curiosity and instinct beckoned him to do so. He do face to face with the person, it was that Japanese kid, what was his name again? He’d changed a good few times since they’d met.
He mimed at him to go up. He didn’t seem right.

Ta stared blankly at the visitor his vision blurred by possession and poor eyesight. An octopus? This was where the chiming was coming from? A strange thing to be making noise. The Koi on the other hand, was reeling Ta's body back in a state of panic.
An intruder! The presence took the boy up, and, reluctantly, pulled Ta's head above the water. Phew. Whatever it was, it definately couldn't reach it's host here! It was then the unknown force remembered that, even if Ta was changing, he still wasn't as adept to the water as the others.
Ta drew in a deep breath, and the Koi's grip on him broke. In the moment of clarity, he looked around, confused. How'd he get all they way out here?
More, why did his tail feel funny?

Ta had had to reaction Jessie though he’d have. Fear, at least that’s what he’d assumed by the way he’d swum back up to the surface away from him.
Since his Jessie skin was already covered in the same slimly texture he wasn’t feeling to effects of his own change yet, but unlike Ta, nothing major had started yet.
“You er…okay?” He said, just after his head broke the surface in front of Ta. Had it been lighter, perhaps ta might have been able to notice the whites of Jessie’s eyes where stating to yellow, and that a few strand of his hair where starting to fall out.

Ta recgonized the voice, he looked at the oddly colored blob in the moonlight.
"J-Jessie?" Takumi trembled. He didn't see the strange man all that well, but he knew that voice. Jessie changed too! At least, that's what Ta could see with his bad eyesight. He was covered in scales and-! Ta stopped, and felt his own face.
There wasn't any skin.
What Ta felt was the intricate network of scales that The Wave had wrapped around him, his eyes grew wide.
He was changing.
"I am not sure, I think I am- AH!"
Ta's tail sunk into the water and began growing, pulling a piece of the boy's spine along with it. The sickening sensation of his spine sliding down his back made Ta bend over, his head hitting the water. His legs went numb as the sound of chimes filled his ears again.

Okay at least the guy was completely out of it, he remembered who he was.
He was starting to feel sort of odd and tingly himself, that tingling being what was left of his now jelly like bones starting to melt away into the rest of his body. Though right now a slightly more pressing concern was Ta, especially now that he’d splashed himself face first.
“Erm…T-t-t…” he stammered, trying to remember the kids name. It started with a “T” right? He put his arms on either of Tas shoulders to try and bright him back up to the surface. The thought occurred to him, the he was changing again, there wouldn’t be any other reason why he’d go out this far in the middle of the night.

Ta lifted his head up weakly, shaking from the strange feelings wracking his body.
"Scared..." He whimpered. Ironicly enough, it wasn't the painful growth of his tail that had him worried, but the lack of feeling in his legs. His hands treaded the water franticly, his head nodding back into the water.
The blurred outlines of his pantlegs blew around the moving water listlessly. Ta didn't see the feetflippers he grew accustomed to anymore. His shins seemed to have disappeared as well. Ta felt his thigh. No wonder he couldn't feel his legs, They were shrinking!
Ta groaned as his tail pushed onward, the bottom of his spine cracked as new pieces of vertebrae grew to accompany his new tail.

“T-t-t…try to clam down, it’ll be over soon alright?” he was stuttering the only part of his name at first, since he still couldn’t remember; he followed through to a sentence instead. A few more strands of hair fell off his scalp.
Jessie stuck his head briefly into the water to get a better look at what was happening to the Japanese boy. His trouser legs where flopping about as he legs where literally shrinking into his new tail. While Jessie had gone through a similar transformation, he’d lost his bones, not grown whole new ones. What happened to him seemed pleasant by comparison. (At least it looked more painful)
He though to try and clam the guy down, but holding him down with tentacles didn’t seem like a very good idea.

Ta's loose pants were now gone, making room for his tail shift to it's new spot. He shut his eyes and screamed as his spine snapped in place. The transformation neared it's completion. The feeling in his legs had disappeared, save for the stubs that were once his feet, which soon melted cooly into this strange, new limb that was his tail.
And it was over.
Breathing and shaking like crazy, he opened an eye tenatively. Ta looked at his tail, eyes wide open. It wasn't the new part of his body that had him in shock, but how natural it felt. It felt as if he was born with the thing already below his waist! Even if it was only one large limb, his weak treading felt like he was standing up with both legs. Ta took a hesitant kick, which sent him back a few feet. He looked at Jessie.
"Done..."

Once Tas pants had floated to the surface Jessie immediately decided not to look down, and Tas scream barely feet away rum him enforced his will not to look directly at him too. As it had sent a sharp ringing through his elongating ears.
“M-maybe you should find H-hailey?” he said, after an awkward silence at the new koi-boy in front of him. He was never good at comfort. “She might help you better than me”
He was starting to feel sort of bloated; he could have sworn he was swelling in some sort of way. He couldn’t be changing again too could he? He was already ugly enough as he was. Then he notice his thumbs where disappearing.
“..Crap” he let out a groan ad he be a tooth started to move back a bit further into his mouth, fitting better into his mouth.

"I... I will.... I think..." Ta choked between breaths, "After..." He looked at Jessie. Something wasn't right.
"What... is wrong?" Ta looked puzzled. He felt fine, a little confused, a little on the edge of going into a fit, and a little sore, but more or less fine. He was in some sort of weird, Zen-like trance. A strange state of mind that kept him from propelling his new tail as far from the changing Octopus man as possible.

Of course hadn’t noticed, he was in water, why would he notice his bones loosing what little density they had before the completely melted away. Since he didn’t need to be support, the painless part of the changes had passed him by without him noticing.
Looks like it was time for Ta to return the favour.
That bloated feeling he’d been feeling as most of his body growing, his tentacles had lengthened a great deal, and now, with his thumbs, his arms had joined them. More of his hair started falling out landing on his shoulders and the surrounding water.
“I’m bald!?.... I’m freak bald!” Jessie cursed a great deal in his head as he held his now soft bulbous head in his tentacle-arms.

What was happening in the water was unknown to Ta. He felt the strands of hair in the water. Oh no. Was Jessie changing too? His eyes widened again. It was bad enough he had lost his legs, but now he had to watch another suffer as he did! He didn't know what he could do.
"Um... I- I- It will be okay." He tried saying, having a hard time keeping himself from screaming.
