A lively, bluesy riff drifted across the exercise yard, the source of it a certain goggle-headed boy. Fenrir lay supine in the grass, harmonica to his lips as he played, bare foot jiggling in time. His shirt was folded and set off to the side; he liked the feel of sun against his chest. His canvas high-tops were noticeably absent as well- he had kicked those off back at his room. A daisy chain hung around his neck, a smaller one wrapped around his right ankle. A few more flower chains sat off to the side.

For once he was almost peaceful, though how long that would last was suspect.

Nevertheless, he was relaxing in the lull of the party. How long had it been since that night? Not too long, only a day or so. Ah, the party had been so awesome, though! He made new friends, got to dress up (though he managed to wash and brush most of the glue out, his hair was still tinged rather purple), there were Pokemon and pranks... hell, he even made a new pokebuddy! He still had to introduce the new Rattata to Chuudo some time, though he wasn't entirely sure where that Daycare was still. Anytime he asked a guard, they either arched a brow like he was crazy, or ignored him entirely. It wasn't very polite, but he figured it must have been some weird sort of hazing.

Still...he missed his boys. He hoped they were being taken care of.

He paused his playing a moment to take a deep breath and just generally look around. It wasn't so bad here after all- he had been worried that staying in one place would make him antsy. Though...he had only been here a short time- it was sort of soon to gauge things. But thus far, things had been nice and that was all that mattered, right? Right. No use worrying about trouble until it came... He put the instrument back up to his lips and resumed playing, eyes closed gently as he relaxed.

Kira was out running around and climbing trees, her red-orange hair pulled back in a braid that went down to about her waist. She was looking in the trees to see if she could find any bug Pokemon that she could feed to Lestat. She wanted to make some sort of peace offering to the Pokemon after what had happened last night; She'd attempted to give him a bath, and Lestat hadn't liked the idea. After chasing him around a few times and getting nailed with his Confuse Ray, Kira had given up.

Sitting outside on a tree-branch, she sighed in a hopeless way; there were no bug Pokemon to be seen at all! Closing her eyes, her ears picked up a soft melody in the wind. Curious, she climbed do the tree and readjusted her tank top and shorts. There were little scraps all over her body, but that was the price to pay when climbing a tree all day.

Making her way out to the less dense area, she peeked out from behind a tree and her face broke into a broad smile. There, laying in the grass, was her friend from the party the other night. Quickly checking to make sure her bandage was in place over her stitches, she quietly crept up behind him, sitting down behind him and listening.

After a while, she finally interrupted his music. "You're really good with the harmonica...."

Fen stopped playing at the sound of a voice, twisting around and propping himself up on his elbows to see who was talking to him. He burst out into a grin when he saw just who it was; it was that girl he'd spoken to at the party, Kira! He set his harmonica down and wriggled himself up into a sitting position, still smiling broadly.

"Heh, thanks! I've been playing for awhile! Sometimes when I'm out on the road an' my music player's batteries die or if I just want somethin' different, it's nice to have somethin' to play!" he explained.

He was proud of his harmonica skills- almost as proud as he was with his Pokemon training skills. Almost. He had learned to play back before he left to go training- he did love music and he needed an instrument that was portable and that wasn't too hard to play...or too terrible breakable.

"I can play guitar sorta okay too. I actually learned that first- Nan taught me. But a guitar's too big to carry around all the time when you're training and kinda breakable, so when I seriously started considering being a Pokemon trainer, I switched to harmonica lessons. I mean, a harmonica's easier to tote around, right? Just pop it in your pocket and yer good to go! Nan wanted me to take Pokeflute lessons from Mr. Fuji too, but...flutes are such a girl instrument." he said, crinkling his nose a bit. He looked at Kira suddenly, eyes widening a bit, holding his hands up quickly. "Not that there's nothin' wrong with girls or anything...it's just I'm a boy is all."

Kira nodded as she listened to Fenrir talk about why he played the harmonica. She started snickering at the comment about the Pokeflute being a 'girl' instrument. "Hey, No harm, I can't even play an instrument. I never did music lessons, instead I did gymnastics." To demonstrate her skill, she bent backwards from her kneeling position and flipped her entire body up backwards into a handstand, held it for a few seconds, then came back down in splits.

"I've done this since I was little. I think I started when I was 5, but I'm not sure. It makes climbing trees a lot easier though, that's for sure!" She pulled her legs out of the splits, sitting cross legged on the grown.

Leaning forward, she gently touched his bizzar pendant. "Where did you get this? It looks like some sort of cool artifact jewelry you'd get from a museum...." She let her fingers softly trace over the surface of the pendant, taking in it's feel and trying to judge how heavy it might be. It couldn't be too heavy, or else Fenrir wouldn't be wearing it.

Fenrir's eyes widened and he clapped delightedly at Kira's skills. Impressive! Oh, he wished he was that flexible...or at least that coordinated. He wasn't the most graceful boy, and he was man enough to admit it, too.

"Ah, that's so neat! I wish I could do that. Oh, I can do a mean cartwheel, though!" he said, bouncing around in place. At the mention of climbing trees his grinned wider. "I can climb trees too! Really good, at that- even if I didn't take no gymnastics. It's nice to climb up sometimes an' just sit in the branches..."

He let her lift his cog necklace gently, smiling proudly. It hung under his flower garland- he'd left it on even when he'd taken his shirt off. Like his goggles, it wasn't terribly common the necklace came off...though unlike his goggles, he actually took it off when he bathed or slept. It wasn't a heavy pendant; after all, it was only a small, worn gear. It was flecked with rust and missing the few teeth along the edge here and there

"Ah this? It's just an old broken cog I found." he remarked. "I thought it looked cool so I made a necklace out of it. You like it?" he intoned.

Kira smiled and blushed at the attention she was getting for her skills. "With enough practice, I'm sure you could do more than just a cartwheel...." She gave him a huge grin at his reaction to tree climbing. "Oh my gosh, we should totally have a tree climbing competition or something! It would be so much fun!"

As she carefully inspected the cog, she nodded. "Yeah, this thing looks ancient, almost. Where did you find it? It's so cool!" She chuckled at the sight of him wearing the flower chain; this boy was weird, and that made him all the more awesome!

He tilted his head to left, staring out as he thought about things. He supposed anything was possible with enough practice- that's what Nan used to tell him, anyways. You just needed determination. Yeah, yeah! First cartwheels, then what? Splits? The uneven bars? The vault? He would be so awesome- he wasn't sure he was down with the tights gymnasts wore though. Ah, he was sure they let dudes wear jeans. Who'd make a guy wear an outfit like that? After all, leotard was only only a few letters away from 'retard'. Heh, more like 'reotard', right? he mused.

"I don't think it would flatter my butt well enough either..." he murmured, still off in thought.

He blinked back to reality, snapping his head back up at the thought of competition. A tree climbing contest? Oh, that would be fun, no matter who won or lost! Though he wagered he'd be good enough to beat a girl. He grew up climbing around on things; trees were no problem!

"Oooh, that'd be fun sometime!" he said, nodding in agreement, smiling smugly.

As attention turned back to the cog for the time being. "Hm? You know, I'm not entirely sure. Some abandoned factory or something...I think it may have been the old power plant in Kanto, back before they used it as an alternate power source for the Magnet Train, that is." he shrugged.

As he caught her looking at his flower chain, he grinned again, hooking it with an index finger and lifting it up a bit. "You like this, or were ya jus' starin' at my studly chest?" he grinned teasingly. "I can't do much for my sex appeal, but I have extra flower chains if'n ya want some!"

"Oh, I was totally staring at your studly chest. You caught me." Kira put her hands, grinning and shaking her head, chuckling. This guy was awesomely fun. "Can I really have a flower chain? They look really well made, and they're pretty."

Returning to the matter of tree climbing, she pointed back to a few trees. "I've already climbed those trees, so I'd have a slight advantage over you if we climbed them. Other than that, all the rest of them I haven't even tried to climb."

Reaching down, she scratched a scrape on her ankle, causing it to bleed a little. Shrugging, she wiped the blood on the grass and waited for it to scab over. "Just a warning though, the trees like to attack you, but don't worry, this wasn't caused by a tree." She smiled, pointing up at her stitches. "So, which trees will we be climbing?"

Fenrir grinned and puffed out his chest, wiggling his torso a bit. "It's orright though, it's hard not to stare. I know I'm pretty awesome. It's okay, I'm proud of my body." he said, still being playfully arrogant- though there was some suspicion that he was at least somewhat serious. He was a special boy, after all.

At the mention of the flower chains, he picked one up and handed it to her, still grinning widely. They were easy enough to make, and what was he going to do with a bunch of them? Might as well share the floral love! He wondered briefly for a moment if he should find a way to slip one into Carl's office...he seemed like he could use the cheering up, and what better to make a person happy than a daisy chain?

"Aw, they ain't much...but they're pretty, they smell good, and they're fun to wear! Ain't no better statement than a flower chain- they're where it's at!" he said cheerily.

He looked at the trees she indicated, nodding along as she spoke. They may as well start on fair ground if they were really gonna have a fun competition. That didn't seem like that'd be too much of a problem, though- there were plenty of trees around that seemed suitable for climbing.

He looked at her scrape, blinking. "Heh, looks like it bit ya a good one. Crazy trees!" he laughed. At the mention of her facial injuries, though, he edged in closer, green eyes widening as he looked at the stitches. He got about an inch from her face, still just goggling at the stitches before lifting an index finger, aiming to lightly poke the stitches curiously.

"Oooh, how'd ya ding up your face like that? Take a digger or something?" he chuckled.

Kira chuckled and slipped the flower chain on over head head, letting it rest around her neck. She giggled and nodded. "Thanks Fenrir! It looks so great on me!" She let out a small snort-laugh as she goofely modeled it off, pretending to be vain.

She blinked when Fenrir brought his face in close to stare at the stitches. They weren't that bad, where they? Kira hadn't thought so, at least. "I fell... I was really tired, and I tripped and forgot to put my hands out...." She mumbled, looking down, feeling really stupid. Heck, it had been stupid, why had she not put her hands out?! Now she was stuck with an embarassing story and an even more embarassing scar across the underside of her chin.

"I had it while at the party two, I think I got it probably two or three days before.... I had hoped the veil kept it hidden for the most part. It was so stupid of me...."

Fenrir leaned back suddenly, snapping out of his curious trance, the topic of her scars temporarily forgotten as he held up his hands, gesturing as though he was snapping photos with any invisible camera, flower chain swinging around his neck, brushing against his still-bare chest.

"Oh yes, work it, work it for the camera! Vogue it!" he said, giggling (yes, giggling) as he toppled backwards. He popped back up seconds later, grinning still. Ah, this one was fun! He figured he may actually enjoy hanging out with her.

As Kira explained her scars, Fen nodded politely, listening with rapt attention for the moment. She fell, huh? Oh, he knew that story! He wasn't a graceful boy, so meetings between his face and the floor (or alternately, meetings between his face and walls, poles and doors) were not uncommon. He tilted his head a bit though. Why wouldn't she put her hands out? How did you forget that? Didn't that happen automatically?

"Ah, we all make mistakes, though. I tend to fall down or bang into things at times too, so don't feel bad! It's like I say: don't follow in my footsteps; I tend to walk into walls." he said with an impish wink, hoping a joke would lighten things up. The girl seemed embarrassed and unhappy, and he rather liked her when she was...well, happy.

"Hopefully you climb better than you walk though." he laughed. "Wouldn't wanna win too easy." he said teasingly.

Kira gave a small giggle and brushed her bangs from her face, sighing. "I was tired, I wasn't thinking...."

Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped at his statement about her walking. "HEY!" Playfully, she lightly smacked him upside the head, pouting. "That wasn't very nice...." She couldn't keep a straight face and was soon grinning at him again.

"Enough stalling! Go pick a tree so I can show you what a girl can really do!" Flexing her arm, she leaned in and kissed her bicep, snickering. She was a dork, and she knew full well she was, but at least she was a fun dork. "Prepare to eat my tree bark!"

Not thinking? Oh, people said Fenrir did that a lot. He wasn't sure they were right though- he thought he thought about a lot of things. Like that! Just because they didn't like his plans and ideas didn't mean he didn't put any thought into them! In fact, he thought that he thought a lot. Even if thinking made his head hurt sometimes. Like now.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and gave his head a good shake. "Yeah, I know that feeling. But I wouldn't worry. I bet no one even notices your scars!" he chimed positively.

Fen yelped a bit as she thumped him upside the head, hands flying up to shielded his head from further assaults. He grinned back at her, hopping up and straightening his flower chain.

"You mean besides give people cooties?" he shot back half-teasingly, wrinkling his nose a bit. "Pfft, stallin'? Me? Stallin's for poorly made cars!" he smirked. "Which...you know, I'm not."

At the comment about eating bark, he tilted his head to one side. Eat bark? That didn't sound like it'd taste very good. "B-but that doesn't sound like it'd taste very good." he said, crinkling his nose.

He shrugged and jogged over, surveying some trees with surprising intensity before he arbitrarily jabbed a finger at a pair of trees.

"How 'bout these two? Not too hard, not too easy. I think they'll work." he said, bobbing his head in emphatic agreement with himself. He pulled his goggles down and flexed his fingers, turning to her with a determined grin. "Perhaps it is YOU that should prepare to do the tree-eating...thing." he said, crossing his arms in determination.

Kira stuck her tongue out at Fenrir, then started walking over to the trees, stretching her arms above her head. Crack her knuckles, she patted one of the trees. "Alright, whenever you're ready, why don't you give the starting count down. I'm thinking a 'go on three' if you don't mind."

Looking up the branches, she quickly judged where her best holds would be for climbing the tree.

Fenrir stretched up tall and looked at the tree. Aw, this was going to be cake! Cake...he could use some cake. He was hungry right now... Wait, was he supposed to be doing something? Oh, the countdown, right! He licked his lips and cracked his knuckles.

"Orright... three, two, one, GO!"

At the call of go, he shot off, grabbing the trunk of his tree and scrambling up. He moved quick; it was obvious he'd done this many times before. But he didn't climb the branches like a ladder- he seemed to be a bit more...fancy than that. He'd pull himself up on one branch, jump to the next, swing himself up and around to the top with the momentum, jump again... He was all legs and arms stretching and climbing. He was a regular Mankey, it seemed.

Of course, anyone who knew the boy knew he was not the most graceful person. Even though he seemed to have a bit more coordination while climbing, he was far from perfect.

The became rather evident after a few minutes of climbing. Fen's foot lashed out to catch a branch but, in a fit of absolute grace (or rather, lack thereof), he managed to slip. His body sagged and swung back, and he lost the grip on the branch he was holding.

He went falling down, bonking a few branches on the way down before landing flat on his back. It was a bit comical to see him flailing wildly to try and grab at branches if anyone was watching. It really lessened the impact of him falling out of a tree.

Luckily, Fen wasn't TOO high-up, so nothing broke. He just had the wind knocked ou of him and garnered a few bruises, welts and cuts from the branches. He sprawled his arms and legs out and lay there silent until her could regain his breath. Once he managed to recover the breath to speak he gave a short wheeze.

"I think I may have broken my arse..."
