Halo Fanboys VS Final Fantasy VII Fanboys VS Legend of Zelda OoT Fanboys VS Other Fanboys Some of you may feel one is worse than the other or you may feel they are all equally bad or good. Discuss the qualities of each and which you dislike and/or discuss the peeves you have with them. Also, describe them. For the "Other Fanboys," discuss any other group of fanboys you with to describe/discuss. Have Fun! mrgreen

I wanna find something I've wanted all along.... I think the games themselves are all equally great(some being overrated but not any less good in my opinion 3nodding ), but the fanboys...excluding Legend of Zelda, can be quite annoying when it comes to bragging and the game itself. LoZ I think is the only popular game with very few ignorant fanboys....at least in my experiance. As for other fanboys...I'm probably a Star Ocean fanboy whee ....Somewhere I belong

I. Cannot. Stand. Metal Gear fanboys. Hideo Kojima is not God's gift to video games and his games really aren't that great. If the MGS series was series of movies, or a dramatic series on HBO or Showtime or one of those, then yes, amazing. But this is a game, and I don't think the actual gameplay mechanics are very "good". Of course, fans will deny up and down the lackluster quality of the series' actual gameplay, siting MGS3's inclusions of camoflauge, animal eating, and revitalized CQC, but in the end, the actual "game part" is not on the same caliber as the story and presentation provided by the series.
Oh, and by the way, I'm a total Touch Generation fanboy and a shameless Pikmin and Animal Crossing fanboy.

Why is everyone announcing what type of fanboy you are? You don't have to do that you know. You can if you want though. I'm not going to stop you or discourage it.

Oh, here I was thinking that this was a thread about the possible situation of the most notorious fanboy regulars getting into a brawl... All I'd say there is... Bring it on... Anyways, the FF fanboys irk me the most, the damn games are so J-trash it hurts.

Yeah, those are the fanboys that annoy me the most also, and I love RPGs and enjoy FF(Not as much as Star Ocean though...because Star Ocean is the best...see what I mean about me being a Star Ocean fanboy? xd )...but FF fanboys/fangirls usually tend to be egotistical and like all-out worship Sephiroth or something. ....Somewhere I belong

I'm a general Zelda fanboy, but really for A Link to the Past or Twilight Princess [/announcement]
Just a quick note, Ocarina of Time was one of the best selling games of all time as awarded. As for the list you have here, I don't recall FFVII ever getting that. Please correct me if I am wrong (anyone).
I can stand Halo fanboys to some extent, but also because I like Halo. I can't exactly put a finger on it, but I just like it and can't really be swayed to discredit any merit from it. FFVII fanboys, though, that's a different story. I know I have not experienced the game, but the argument that Sephiroth is a better villain than Gannon/dorf has been experienced. I won't sit around and let Gannon get forgotten. The REAL thing that bugs me is actually FF pronz and other fanfiction.
Actually, I have fan fiction/pronz in general. I love some stuff like Harry Potter, too, but why the HELL does Hermione have to have an affair with Snape? That's wrong to begin with, but when you're even bringing people back to life just because you liked them, GO HANG YOURSELF RIGHT NOW....sorry. It seems like anyone who does that is slapping the author in the face. There was a reason that it was written how it was. Star Wars fans are probably teh best (truly good) out of the bunch, but only because the design lets people make their own stories. If they're altering the universe, that's bad, but there's nothing wrong with writing about a Jedi Knight who fought during the Clone Wars. The story doesn't tell of that.
I guess it's ok for Star Wars people to do it because they're NOT messing with what the author had to say...

I don't know about you, but I feel better smile

The thing I hate about Zelda fanboys is they think OoT is God's gift to the videogame world. OoT is a good game, but it's heavily overrated. I also hate Zelda wannabe-elitists who maybe played one other Zelda game besides Link To The Past, and are all like:
"WTF, you like Windwaker? STFU, N00b. Play a REAL Zelda. I was the first LTTP fan"
I hate Final Fantasy Fanboys as well. I bet 99.9% of people who hate Final Fantasy wouldn't hate it if they had, at some time in their life, FFVII shoved down there throats via fanboyism, fanart, yaoi, fanfiction, or any combination of them. D:
I hate, though, when people prejudge FF based on one or two games, like FFVII. People hear all this s**t about FFVII and decide to hate FF without forming a legitimate opinion.
I still think, as popular as FF is, there's a lot of underrated games. Final Fantasy VI, IX, and XII are underrated, IMHO.

QFT, I have absolute OCD when it comes to fanfiction...mainly because people turn perfectly good stories into crap. I really feel like people are spitting on the author when they write fanfiction. Even if there are some stories that don't quite go the way I'd like them to (Death Note...doesn't make it any less of an awesome series to me though ninja ), changing someone else's work just...aggravates me I guess. It's really disrespectful to the author in my opinion. ....Somewhere I belong

I don't mind fan fiction if they keep all the details/facts in order. There's nothing worse than reading that long-time-hateful rivals are now a gay couple.

They don't ave to be wasting time on FF7 when they could be making stuff with the mithras, or even Fire Emblem catgirls/ Nailah. Waste if time right there. I really don't like Halo fanboys. The average Halo fanboy WILL NOT LISTEN TO REASON. He'll just coninue to post about how supposedly awesome Halo is and how anything else brought into a conversation apparently fails.
