Vinya'nyota sighed and glanced over her shoulder, back in the direction of her Pride lands. She had been away for quite some time now, hoping to find her Rhythm and perhaps some new members for the Pride.
Although she had settled quite easily into Pride life, it still bothered her that she had yet to find her own individual rhythm. Apart from that, everything was going great. Her singing had really come a long way, as she had gone from not knowing that she was able to sing, to being willing to sing in front of a crowd. Her dancing was much improved as well.
"Why can't I find it?" She moaned out loud.

Not far off from where Vinya'nyota was moaning to herself, Chuiwa'karatasi was also thinking about home, and wondering why he couldn't find that certain thing what he himself was looking for.
The whole reason Chuiwa'karatasi had temporarily left the Pride Lands was to find himself a mate, in the hopes of settling down with her and leading a simpler life. Instead, he has found nothing but aching paws and home-sickness. "This sucks..." He murmered, before flopping down into a sitting position to have a rest.

Vinya'nyota didn't even notice the male at first, despite his pale green coat. When she did eventually spot him not too far away, she raised a brow, having never seen a lion in such a strange colour. Sure, her mother and a few of her sisters had green on them, but this guy's whole body was green!
Deciding now would be a good time to put her slightly improved social skills to the test, she walked over to him. "Hi there." She said with a smile, actually quite impressed by the male's odd colour once she got close enough to appreciate it. He had some pretty cool markings as well. "Going anywhere in particular?"

The green adolescent's ears perked as he heard the voice of another. Smiling, Chuiwa'karatasi watched as the pale female approached. She looked older than him, but not by much. "Hi yourself." He said with a grin, his tail flicking steadily from side to side as he did so. Chuiwa wasn't exactly a lady's man, which was probably why he had yet to find a mate. Or perhaps it was because his favourite hobbies included play-fighting and racing. "My name's Chuiwa'karatasi, what's yours?"
At the female's question, Chuiwa'karatasi shook his head, allowing his jet black mini-mane to flop slightly over his face. "I'm just going where my paws carry me." Saying that, he tilted his head to the side and swept his mane back with one of his paws.

Vinya'nyota rolled her eyes at the male's reply, but quickly remembered that she had to play nice in order to get more Pride members. Still smiling, she bowed her head in greeting. "I'm Vinya'nyota. Pleased to meet you Chuiwa." She chuckled. "You don't mind if I call you Chuiwa do you? Your full name is a bit of a mouth full."
Chuiwa seemed nice enough so far, but she would have to get to know him a bit better before telling him about the Pride she was in. "So, where are you from?" The pair were pretty much in the middle of nowhere right now. Luckily, Vinya'nyota knew perfectly well how to get back to the Nchi'mahadhi lands.

Chuiwa laughed at Vinya's comment about his name. Others had always said that it was quite a mouth full, so he didn't at all mind when they asked to shorten it. "Chuiwa is fine, as long as you don't mind if I call you Vinya!" Her name may not have been as big as his, but it was still pretty big.
At the female's question, Chuiwa'karatasi motioned over his shoulder. In the distance, Pride Rock could just about be seen, although it looked very far away. "I was born and raised in the Pride Lands." He replied proudly. "How about you?" Saying that, he looked around. Apart from Pride Rock, there were no other landmarks in sight. How would she ever find her way back to where she lived?

The pale adult grinned and nodded. "I actually prefer Vinya anyways." When the male mentioned that he was born and raised in the Pride Lands, Vinya'nyota frowned slightly, although it was more out of curiousity than anything else. "What are you doing all the way out here then?" He couldn't be looking for new members, as the Pride Landers were already the biggest Pride in the world as far as she knew. "Are the Pride Lands not all they're cracked up to be?" She said with a smirk, allowing her slightly more bitching side to come through.
When asked about her own origins, her smirk faded. "I was born in some random Oasis, but I recently joined a really cool Pride." Not wanting to dwell on the past, a forced a smile. "That's why I'm out here actually. I'm looking for new members."

Before he could even give her a reason as to why he was out in the middle of nowhere, Vinya jumped to the conclusion that he had left the Pride Lands permanently. "No way!" He said, with a rather shocked expression on his face. "The Pride Lands are great actually, I could never leave them for good."
Chuiwa'karatasi wondered if it was a good idea to tell this particular female his reason for leaving the Pride Lands temporarily. He certainly found her attractive, but like most other females he had met, she didn't seem like his type. And with that pretty white coat, there was no way she was going to want to play-fight with him.
As Vinya'nyota went on, he shook the wonderings from his mind and listened. "A cool pride eh?" He grinned. "I bet it's not as cool as the Pride Lands.

"Pfft, whatever." Vinya'nyota snapped back, ignoring what Chuiwa'karatasi had first said and only focusing on what he said last. "The Nchi'mahadhi Pride appreciates things like dancing and singing. It's not all stuffy and strict like I've heard the Pride Landers are."
Despite the fact that she was an adult, Vinya'nyota found it totally acceptable to engage in a 'my Pride is the coolest' debate with this random adolescent who she had only just met. After all, she was still quite a young adult. "No wonder you left." She smirked.

Vinya'nyota had him there. Although the Pride Landers weren't exactly stuffy and strict, they weren't exactly Chuiwa's cup of tea either. He had always been quite hyper and eager to play, and most other Pride Landers he had met weren't. Despite that though, he still longed to go back, and didn't want anyone saying anything bad about the Pride either.
"If you must know..." He started, the awkwardness starting to show on his face. "I left to look for a mate who is more like me." Saying that, he blinked and looked at Vinya'nyota, wondering this time if she would be suitable for him.

Vinya'nyota blinked back, before bursting into laughter. "Think again Junior!" She mused between laughs, before she finally settled. She herself had no plans whatsoever in regards to mates just yet, so she was somewhat surprised that this adolescent had.
"What do you want a mate for? Are you planning on starting a family or something?" Having been abandoned by both her parents, the very concept of a family was somewhat warped to Vinya. Looking after number one was all that had really mattered to her up until joining the Nchi'mahadhi.

Chuiwa'karatasi frowned at the female. No, she was definatly not his type. At the mention of starting a family, the green adolescent almost choked, but managed to mask it with a chuckle. "Nah. I'm not responsible enough to raise a family, and I'll be the first one to admit that." He gave a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Even when I'm older, I don't think I'll want that. I just want a nice girl who I can spend all my time with and have fun."
Having explained himself, he shook his head. "I haven't met anyone suitable so far though, even with my awesome coat!"

Vinya'nyota smiled and let out a small laugh. The old Vinya would have probably shot the male down, making up some silly reason as to why he couldn't find a mate. The new Vinya just wasn't that bitter anymore. "I'm sure you'll find someone Chuiwa." She said with a nod, before glancing over her shoulder.
"I'm going to start heading back soon. I've been away for ages, and I'm really missing my friends." When she turned back to Chuiwa'karatasi, she tilted her head slightly. "You must be missing your friends and family as well. You should go back and visit them." She grinned. "A break will do you good, just incase it takes you forever to find a mate." Saying that, she turned and started heading back in the direction of the Nchi'mahadhi. "Seeya around!"

"Thanks!" He said, returning the grin. "And once I've found a mate for me, I'll have to track you down and find a mate for you!" He laughed. "If you haven't found one already."
Chuiwa'karatasi watched for a while as Vinya'nyota left. He meant what he said about finding her a mate, so he would have to try and remember what direction she lived in, as well as that long and complicated Pride name. Once she was just a white dot on the horizon, the green adolescent turned on his heals and started heading back to the Pride Lands.
