With a sneer blood red eyes peered over the savanna. Where. Was. She. Simple, how could she still be in hiding, after all of this time, after everything that had happened, she had up and left! With a snarl white toed paws tred on, tail swaying behind her as hte sun beat on her back. How could this have happened to her, how. It wasn't right, nothing was right anymore.
Next thing she would know if someone talking to her, more likely, some male.
With a disgusted look upon her maw she shook her head and kept on forward.
Who needed others anyway..

Silent, but watchful, a red figure sat like a statue of Bast herself. Kiuma had found herself unable to sleep, so she now sat night watch for her companion. Baala slept not far away, safely tucked where she was hidden. Of course, her black pelt did help.
The weather was a boon, and Kiuma gave thanks for it. Traveling was easier under a clear sky, sleeping during the heat of the day and traveling when the heat dropped. They didn't travel as hard as they used to... there was really no reason for it, and besides... Baala needed to recover after her beating that the paws of that dispicable male.
Kiuma sighed softly, casting her eyes up at the sky. She felt restless, now that she wasn't pushing herself as hard as she was used to. But that was okay. Baala was more important than just about anything right now.

Red, red, red, red and black. Red and black. She's remember, oh she'd remember. Karndess would find her, and finally get the answers of which she had been deprived and not given, not even a clue, not even a smidgen of a hint as to why the events happened as they had. Red now...red and alone. Stopping and tilting her head to the side, red eyes narrowed and focused on a lone figure.
Male or female..it counted...
Female, no mane. Good, Karndess didn't feel like dealing with another googley eyed idiot today. She had places to go someone to find.
Red though...she was tempted to ask why red was alone.

A soft red ear twitched at the sound of paws nearby, and Kiuma's head snapped around, searching for the source of it. A frown moved on her face, and she shifted warily. The princess was a little protective of her companion after what happened, and though it might ease over time, it was in full force right now. Kiuma would kill -anything- that threatened the younger lioness.
Rising to her paws, the red lioness twitched her tail irritably. "Who's there?" She called out, the black claw on her earing bouncing with her ears gentle flick. The darkness of dusk was on the side of the stranger, making it hard to pick out more than a vague shape through the grass of the savannah. A wind kicked up around Kiuma, rustling the grass about them and making her twitch.

"No one really," she said drolly, she didn't wish for any trouble this time of day. She was tired of getting into petty fights and disagreements with anyone she came across on her way. Mostly males though, because they wanted fun, Karndess just wanted to keep moving. "Who's there and here?" She spoke strangely, moreso due to lack of sleep.
She was tired, tired of everything.
Now what?
"I don't mean for any trouble..."

The red lioness relaxed a little as a feminine voice came to her, with an assurance that there would be no trouble. Kiuma settled back to sit as she had before, curling the length of her tail around her legs.
"My name is Kima." She said softly, not wanting to raise her voice and risk waking her companion. "I'm not looking for trouble either, so don't fear anything from me, as long as you don't mean harm to my companion or myself. Passing through?"
It was late, and though Kiuma was tired, she wasn't sleepy, and satisfying her curiosity seemed as good a way to pass the time. Perhaps this was a like-minded female, which would be refreshing.

"No, no harm at all to you or your companion," Karndess said with a nod, inching further, closer to this brighter pelted female. Though Kiuma's companion, where were they? Peering around with bright red hues, Karndess couldn't spot anyone. Strange, hopefully this wasn't some trick, however, Kiuma seemed sincere when she said she wasn't asking for trouble either.
Though Karndess new trust could only be given out sparingly.
"Yes, passing through, trying to find someone, yet I seem to be going in circles, or at least, thats what it feels like to me..."

The red lioness nodded as she listened. catching how the other looking around as though searching for something. Baala was well concealed, as per Kiuma's request when they slept, so it was unlikely she would be found. Better safe than sorry, yes.
She nodded as the other spoke, taking it in. "Who or what are you looking for? Perhaps we've seen them. Or I could maybe direct you onto the right path, if you'd care to tell me where you're trying to go. I've been traveling for much of my life, I have a pretty good sense of where I am." A small smile curved over her face, and she felt herself further relaxing.
How nice it was to sit and converse with another female... nothing to fight, nothing to chaise, no danger or needs to be taken care of. Nothing but a brief meeting of mind and mind.
"We're just passing through too, stopped for the night to get a little rest before going on."

Who? It was...a strange thing to describe for who Karndess was searching for. She was searching for someone who seemed impossible to be found, someone influential, female, and..strange, dark...fogged...was one way to describe her. A runaway, in a manner of speaking. "A female...she was part of my life, and one day she left, left me alone, and I don't know why...she took care of me, but one day, she seemed to recall something when I asked her a question, and she just...left me alone..."
Again.
Alone again.
Digging her claws into the soil she retracted them once more, took a breath.
Didn't need to start any trouble.

Kiuma lifted an eyebrow as she eyed the lioness.
"Are you perhaps looking for your mother?" She chuckled, finding this female more than a little odd. "Does she look at all like you?"
It was odd to think of a lioness just up and leaving the cub she had cared for for so long... what could she have been thinking? Even when Kiuma had left hers, she had had a very good reason, and had made sure they were in the best of care during her absence. She hadn't ment to be gone so long, but at least they were raised well, princes of a large pride.
Her eyes darted to watch claws shoot from the striped lioness's paws then retract, feeling the fur over her hackles raise a little, then settle again. This girl could be dangerous... everything about her seemed to hint at some inner instability.

"Yes." she said coldly, quickly, as if a reflex, she was her mother, saved her, from the thing, "Not by blood, but she took care f me for a time, then left..." she snarled to herself, shook her head, she got so angry when she thought about it, "Nothing against you I hope you understand, just, not easy for me to talk of and not get angry...though I do owe her something, she did save me when I was very young."
Yes, saved, from the thing.
Though she shook her head, blood red hues looking at the red lioness before her, "Dark in color, yes, though she never went from he den unless in the shadowed night...I remember her eyes though, her eyes.."
Her eyes would never fade from her mind.
"So I keep looking, till I find her and those eyes..."

Kiuma's ears twitched but she nodded, listening intently to the lioness as she spoke of her 'mother'.
"I have not seen a lioness, by night or by day, with eyes as striking as you describe. I'm careful about the lions or other creatures we run into on our travels, and I make a note to either satisfy myself that they are harmless, or chaise them off to a safe distance." She shook her head as she lifted a paw to scratch under her chin. "I'm sorry I can't help you in your search... and I hope that you do find what you're looking for soon. I know what its like to search like you do... I did it myself, more than once, and it was never a pleasant affair."

Karndess grumbled to herself, not in annoyance with the red pelted lioness, but with the fact that she had found nothing to help her. Retracting her claws, she shook her eyes, blood red hues on the lioness before her, "Not pleasant at all, I just hope something will take a turn for the better so that everything can be well once again, wandering is not something I am fond of, though I still survive, just as many others do." Flicking her tail she sniffed the air, took a step, glanced at Kiuma.
"I should keep going then, no offense, but time passes by so quickly now it seems, I don't want to fall too far behind if I'm getting closer and closer each moment. Perhaps our paths will cross again someday, 'till then, I hope everythin's well for you and whoever you travel with," she said with a nod. She sarting walking off, at an angle this time, wary of where the red pelted lioness was, not wanting anymore trouble.
Soon mother soon...this search will end.

Kiuma rose as the other began to move off, offering her a deep nod of her head in respectful farewell. Truly, though, she was rather glad to see the odd lioness moving on. She didn't like the idea of anyone or anything potentially dangerous being anywhere near Baala.
Her tail flicked as she watched her diappear, then she turned and padded back towards her hidden companion. It was about time she joined her in sleep, if they were going to keep traveling tomarrow.
This meeting would not be forgotten though. The red lioness would wonder on it often as time passed.
