Ukoo was alone feeling. After her uncle Pya had tried to toss her off that ravine, that the log she had perched on-to her death-and her grandfather Umo had rescued her. But-it made her question her uncles words. He had called her ill-sick and weak and said she brought the family down. It wasn't her fault-the dreams kept her awake all the time-and and... she stiffled a sob-borrowing her head into her paw-as the cool breeze of the air blew across her. She had wandered away from the family-would prolly get in trouble-but she didn't care. She had to greive.
She wanted to go away and never come back-so that her uncle and family would not be burdened by her anymore. She lifted her head and lay her head on her paw... It was too much fo her... to be the only one with this problem. Even her brother Aboina had dreams-but his were kind and welcoming... hers full of pain and suffering.
She had nustled herself under some frawns and ferns-glad to be hidden.

The ferns and frawns were not a lonely place though and the sound of heavy paws lifted and fell upon the soft, earthy ground of the Pridelands as something walked among the emerald fuzzy leaved plants. But what else would wander alone through out these kind lands?
A creature...yes...a terrible creature. And yet, this terrible creature held the beautiful golden pelt one would often see on the lions and lionesses that lived within these lands. So why would one feel sad with such a dazzling pelt?
...only he knew...
The juvenilles brows were furrowed, eyes emotionally dead and half lidded as his thin, scrawny body looked near starvation. This was more than he deserved...much more...he deserved to die for being what he was. Being an abomination, a sin...a monster. And so wrapped up in his thoughts was this young male that he didn't notice the young female as he passed her hiding place.

She felt her woes and sorrow overflow her and fill her throat with tears as she came to terms with what she should do... she should go away... be away from everyone... to escape from them and save them from her illness. What if it spread? What if she hurt someone like Pya hurt her? She shook her small head and felt her loving family frown upon her and shame her-what her uncle had said too her... it was a curse she had... a curse.
She heard the stranger approach and she felt that it was Pya, ready to take her and throw her into something horrible again... to hurt her and kill her. Anger filled her head and she sprang from her hiding place-her tiny eyes blaring. "Pya's... you ish so means too mee... and I didn't do anyfhink to you! She shouted, her paws placed squarely and ready for him to attack her again. Her tiny body then stared up at the golden lion, her eyes blinking in her surprise...
S-sowwies... I fought you was someone else... my uncle Pya's She said softly, feeling silly for have been so harsh and ready to defend herself again... to this stranger. She looked down sadly...

To say the least, the young lion was shocked and his skinny form jumped at the sudden ball of fur appearing and spitting at him angrily. Suddenly images of his childhood flashed before his eyes and he cowered back slightly as his bright blue eyes widened. No...no no no!!! This shouldn't happen!
As she finished speaking the male quickly covered his face, golden paws raising quickly and causing him to fall onto his pale chest with an 'oof' being released from his weak lungs. God...it hurt so much to breath already and he gulped down the slab within his throat as he looked at the cub from over the top of his paws.
"I...I-I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean t..t-to startle you!" His voice was weak and cracked slightly as he lay there, pressing his body low against the ground as if he wished it to swallow him up whole.

Ukoo didn't know how to react when the male dropped down and covered his head. She stood, very much shorter than him and yet, he cowered so-and she was confused. She blinked at him with watery crimson eyes-almost of the brink of tears for scaring him.
]I sorry... I foughts you was... my uncle... She said all stuttering like. She stepped closer too him, the kindness in her heart singing-for she had scared him and she felt guilty. She stepped up next too him and crouched down to see if she could see in between his paws.
My name is Ukoo... an... don't be scarded of me... She begged.

The male was weak, terrified that if he showed his face to this female the Gods would be angered and curse her and her lands for his incompetance. But still, for all the hunger and the cruelty he had endured...the look of guilt and the odd, yet familiar sound in her voice made his ears perk forward in curiousity. Kindness was a foreign thing to the male and he gulped hard once more as he looked at her between his paws.
"I..I'm not scared of you..." He started, voice still soft and weak. "I'm scared of what will happen if I show you my face..."

"I..I'm not scared of you..." He started, voice still soft and weak. "I'm scared of what will happen if I show you my face...
If anyone walked up on these two, they'd see the golden boy all cowering and a little tiny cub, a bit too skinny, with her tiny rump in the air and her head too the ground-her tiny eyes trying to see why he was so scared. HEr tiny mind did not comprehend what he was saying... and she stood up confused. How's come? She asked, her little voice sweet and caring. Despite the fear she felt for him at first-for the fear she felt that he may have been her uncle pya... was now gone and... she wanted to make him happy.
She wiggled closer so that her tiny breath fell upon him. I'm not scared... nothing can scares me anymores... She said, her head cocked and paws spread out wide, so that if there was a glimpse of him-she could see

They did look a strange sight. But the male stayed his course, laying there shaking before he shook slightly and raised a paw so only his blue eyes could be seen looking at the strange cub. He'd never seen anyone her colour, all he'd known was the colour of his pride...and his...awful...sinful colour. Another gulp motioned that he was going to speak.
"I...I'm a monster...the wise one of my pride...sh-she said I can't show my face to anyone or the God's will punish them for my insolence!" He said, genuine fear in his voice and eyes as he continued to shake like he was cornered by monsters himself.

Ukoo let out a happy squeak when he lifted his head and she caught sight of his blue eyes. She waddled towards him and on her face spread a wide smile. She was excited that he was coming out of his shell, even if it was just just a slight bit. She indeed, thought his coat to be plain, but the ones from the rock nearby... seemed to be that color alot... She was used too the earthy browns and odd patterns... the bright red eyes. She found him fascinating and what he said made her puff out her chest. WEll... THe gods certainly had played a large role in her families life... and she knew very little... but she'd wing it.
I ain't afraid of any Gods... My gwampapa... he... he and my gwammama escaped the wrath of godsies when my uncles were borned... So.... I aint' afwaid! She said, sitting back on her hind feet and stretching her paws out at her sides, so that she resembled a bird flapping its furry wings. I don'ts fink I ish afwaid of gods that say bad things... And... and... you shoulds show everyone yer face... thats the bestest parts of peoples

Needless to say the young male was still a bit reluctant, still shaking and staring out over the remaining paw almost in shock at this tiny female saying she wasn't afraid of the Gods and telling him the story of her grandmother and grandfather. For a moment he did nothing before gulping and slowly removing the paw from his face and showing it to her...nothing was wrong with it. Infact even at this age it was obvious, despite the fact he was nearly wasted away, that he would grow to be quite a handsome young chap, so how could he think he was a monster?
He sighed a little as he looked down, not waiting for a reaction as his blue eyes looked sadly at his paws and gulping once more.
"I'm hideous...I know..."

Ukoo cocked her head at him and stepped closer, giving him a once over with her red eyes. She blinked, smiling and padding side to side happily. There was nothing wrong with his face at all. She giggled in her excitement to see that-he was normal just like her. Silly... deres nothin' wong... you's look fun!!!! She said quickly with a tiny laugh. She sat and leaned back, so her front paws where too her tiny chest.
She shook her head. No-no no... you is not hiderous... you is handsomes. She said with a confidant smile. She thought his golden color was rather charming... and his golden mane was very pretty too. She liked those who had unmarked hides like hers and her families.

Well...that hadn't been the reaction the male had anticipated. His soft, sky blue eyes watching him with a mixed look of shock and suprise, before he watched her sit so her paws lifted to her own fluffy chest and he gulped softly. His throat was so dry...he'd never drank anything in so long.
"Th-Thank you..." He didn't know whether to believe, all those beatings and horrible, horrible words had sown the seed of lies deep into his brain. It made him feel awful and sick to his stomache at the thought of those words, of his hideous face, of the curse...of hurting anyone who gets closer to him.

Ukoo giggled when he finally came out of his paws and he sat there staring with a funny look on his face. She did not comprehend that he really felt about himself... only that he was out of his feets and ready to play perhaps. She stood up and tossed her head. No fank me... you's is a handsomes boy-o-boy! She said excitably in her jumbled speech. She pranced around him once and sat next too him, even though he was reasonably larger than her-and leaned against him.
She then sprang away with a laugh and bounded a distance off, bounding back and wiggling her hind end. We should plays! She said questioningly, reaching out with a paw to put it on his

Matemo was a youngster, an older cub really, but watching this female jump and squeal as she did made him blink with a slightly shocked look. He'd never met anyone quite as energetic as this young female and at her words there came a moment of silence followed by.
"...what's 'play'?" He asked with a look that was all the more curious as he sat there, paws fidgeting slightly with each other as he kept his bright blue eyes upon the happy cub.

Ukoo didn't know quiet how to explain to him play. She sat still for a moment, and gazed at him curiously-till a huge smile crossed her face. "Play is like-somefink you can do alones... or with a friend.. or even a stwanger. You can.. play wiff nothing and everthing. Its.... its..
You's never played'd befores?[color[olive] She asked, cocking her head and stepping closer to him-her front paw lifted and flexing. She didn't quiet understand... didn't he play with his sisters and brothers-like she did. Heck, she even played with Pya, even though he was a really evil/dumb... horrible uncle.
I can's teach you's if you don't knows.
