After re-uniting once more with her mate. It hadn't been long since that day that Chu'mana's belly had begun to swell. She knew this feeling all to well from before. From when Yiska, Vasu and Shadi had been born. That warm feeling in her belly of squirming life that was growing. And yet that feeling had then been severed as two baskets soon came upon the scene. Each one carrying and sheltering a tiny foal from the winter elements that had dropped onto the land. Chilling the earth and the air.

Her small body tried its best to wrap around each one. Small shuffling noises coming from inside gave her the notion that soon her foals would emerge. She spend most of her time curled next to them. Cooing and whispering to them as she had with her first baskets. It was an exciting moment. And really wished that her older children were here to see. To watch their younger siblings take their first breath of the outside out. And to walk on their wobbly legs.

The little basket made the occasional rustling noise as the foal inside listened to the strange noises coming from the outside world. It had come to the conclusion that this must of been its mama. Though it had only caught a brief glance of her before it was put into the basket. The femanine voice was a familiar thing day in and day out. Which comforted the foal quite a bit.

I will do my best, to make you happy..

Hok'ee said nothing else when he left Chu'mana's side. No mention of her carrying foals was needed. The black dapple stallion could smell the change in his beautiful mates scent. He had told her once, that she smelled like she would be a good mother. He knew it, yet he couldn't quite explain how. That same smell was upon her know.

Setting out for barely a day, he first tracked down Vasu', who hadn't wandered too far. Without losing a moment, he caught up to his son and began to speak. He told him that his bright mother, longed to see not only him again, but Yiska and Shadi too.

It might not of been a direct request, but it didn't need to be. Hok'ee would suprise her, if he brought Yiska, Shadi, and Vasu'Raj there succesfully. He couldn't hunt both Yiska and Shadi down, so Vasu was volunteered to aid in his fathers quest. He sent Vasu to find his sister, and said he would find Yiska.

Where to find Yiska? He had no idea. He moved with aimless speed, asking any soquili in the area for a stallion with his handsome face. Yes, he added handsome everytime. Some looked at him with an odd expression, others just chuckled. He did find a mare that had seen him, and used her proximity to get closer to where he might still be.

A huff of air escaped his mouth as he came to a stop. His eyes scanned the lands, and he almost felt lost. He wouldn't quit searching, nor give up hope. Yiska had to be somewhere. At the top of his lungs, he bellowed out his name to the cold lands. "YIIISKAA! WHERE ARE YOU?!" He then stood there, catching his breath. His ears turned wildly, listening for any response.

Startled by the quick approach of another, he turned with a "What tha..." and had time to say nothing more. He just stood there with a blank look on his face as he listened to his father. Vasu couldn't remember seeing his father in such a serious state. There was a deep lain urgency that insisted they all meet together again. He had just seen his mom, but didn't question his fathers motive. He agreed to find Shadi, his sister, and then meet back at his mom.

When his father turned to rush off, he relaxed. He had stood still the entire time his dad was there, not moving so much as a muscle. Now, shruging his shoulders at the task, he turned to walk towards where his sister generally hung out.

With a slow, methodic pace, he traveled the lands. His eyes scanned the grass, but without so much notice. He was thinking about his father, and wondering what was going on to cause him to act in such a way. Wait...it was important that he do this with the seriousness of his father. He picked up his head and quickened the pace of his hoof. Shadi, where are you..? he thought as he scanned the lands for any sign of his sister.

-(insert basket pic that Luna never saved cause she's a slack-butt)-

A cool breeze tickled the senses of the small colts nose, as he pressed it to the weave of his basket. He was listening to his mothers soft voice, and sniffing at her warm words. It never grew old, he could listen forever.

A smile crept across the mare's face as she remembered those words her mate had said as he left.

Nuzzling each basket, she lipped at the rims of each one. "Its almost time for you little ones to come out and join the world." Chu's heart fluttered. The excitement was building. And she started to wonder what kind of personality each foal would gain. And...what genders they were.

She knew Hok'ee wanted sons. For his little army. Of course they had Vasu'Raj and Yiska. But they didn't seem all that interested in recruitment. It made her giggle lightly as she leaned her cheek against the pair of wicker containers.

Fate must of been on Hok'ee's side that day. As soon as he called out a loud 'WHAT?!' came in return. Yiska had been wandering not too close to his parent's land. Having gotten the notion of maybe visiting his mother. There was a change in the air that drew him back.

The young stallion emerged from the treeline behind his father. A curious eyebrow raised. "What's all the yelling about, geez." His light green eyes locked on the figure of his father. It had been....a very long time since he'd last since him. Even when he had visited mom, he hadn't been there.

So he had assumed that they had re-united once more. Which made him happy. Mother wasn't alone anymore. For now.

Hok'ee liked to of been startled, but he wasn't. Instead he turned towards his son with one eye on him. "What do you mean 'What'? I was looking for you, and couldn't see you. I was lucky you were so close." his tone was heated just a smidge at his own defense to the yelling. How else would he of found Yiska hiding in the trees? He was lucky indeed.

A breath drew slowly into his lungs as he looked Yiska over. His son was still very handsome, if not more, and that made him proud. Lifting his chin up, he smiled towards the green swirled stallion that held a shade of his own white face. "Yiska, my handsome boy, we need to go to your mother." Seriousness fell on him, with a wave of something important. "I hope Vasu has been as lucky as I, at finding your sister. Unless you know of her whereabouts? Either way, I'm afraid time is running short."

Looking away and off into the clear, a troubled expression pulled at his snow colored face. He was thinking of his children, both the unborn, and the distant.

He grinned sheepishly at his father. Perhaps his response was not a very favorable one. Either way.

The notion that his father had been looking for him took him back a bit. He wasn't really sure how to address that. Since Hok'ee himself had simply vanished and now--now he was looking for him? Shouldn't it of been the other way around?

Yiska's ears perked forward at the mention of his mother. Time is running short? What did that mean? Had something happened to his loving mother? The young stallion bit at his bottom lip briefly. If she had been attacked.... Yiska had always had doubts about leaving his mother to go off on his own. Without his father there, she was vulnerable. Sure, she probably could of handled herself. But, he just wasn't sure.

His slight worry subdued to lingering in the back of his mind. "No, I don't know where Shadi is." Yiska's voice was a bit monotone as he moved past his father. He knew the way home. And right now he just wanted to get back to her. To see what all the seriousness of what his father was talking about. A little voice in the back of his head gnawing at his conscious for leaving her.

He turned his attention back to Yiska. "Son, it matters not. At least I found you. You've been closer to your mother than any of us." he commended him. "I'm sure they'll show, and even if they're late, everything will still work out." he assured without giving any details.

"Let's go ahead and head back then." Whipping his head around, he trotted a couple paces, looking back to Yiska before speeding off towards the place of reunion. Hok'ee couldn't help but smile as he ran. It was as if he was floating rather than pounding the ground with his hooves. Cloud 9 would carry him all the way back to his lovely Chu'mana.

"Thats true." They? Yiska thought his father probably meant Vasu and Shadi. His tail flicked back and forth sharply as he picked up his pace. Not going as fast as his father though. He had been running most of the day and just didn't feel like a full out run.

Still. He was quite curious all that was going on. And why the entire family was being drawn together. Those thoughts about his mother being injured creeped up in the back of his mind. Which he quickly tried to push back down. No, she couldn't be hurt. It had to be something else.

Chu'mana sighed lightly. It had felt like Hok'ee had been gone for so long. And the baskets were getting restless. If he didn't return soon, he would miss the foals 'birth' per say. "Its ok babies. Your daddy will be back soon."

The basket wiggled a few times. The fillie inside nickering softly to her mama outside. She really wanted to get out of here now now now. It was getting too cramped and the sounds outside interested her. But also scare her at the same time.

Shadi trotted around a grassy area next the outer tree line of the forest. She liked being by the forest, she blended in better in the forest. In the forested she was less likely to be spotted by other soquili, and therefore she was less likely to embarress herself when meeting new soquili.

Though being by herself gave her lots of time to think, she did get rather lonely. She missed the old days when she was little and she always had her brothers there to play with. In those days it seemed she was never alone, though sometimes she had wished she was. Especially when her brothers used to play tricks on her, she knew they were just having fun though.

It had been a while since she had seen her all her family. I really should go back and see them again sometime. She thought to herself as she found a nice spot just outside of the forest and sat down.

Vasu had finally found her! There, with her rump planted in the snow, was his sister, Shadi. He sped over to her, kicking up patches of white snow behind him. Upon reaching her, he leaned in and nipped at her back playfully. "Hey you, get your lazy but up." he teased. "We need to go see mom and dad, don't know why, but dad said we should make haste."

He smiled at his sisters glowing green face, and then headed back towards the spot where Chu'mana tended to take rest.

Hok'ee broke though the snow with ease. It was a beautiful sight, to see the two black stallions running in the land of white. Even though Yiska wasn't so close to his father in the run. Hok'ee couldn't help imagine the whole family on such a run...the whole family. It would make Chu laugh, if he got everyone marching instead.

He let out a warm chuckle and then turned to Yiska, yelling against the wind. "C'mon now!" he chuckled again. He was so happy, even now.

Shadi snapped out of her train of thought she was in and looked up quickly when she was nipped at unexpectedly by Vasu. She quickly rose to her feet and laughed lightly, smiling at her brother. "Vasu! I haven't seem you in forever!" She said as she continued to smile at him. "Hey! Who are you calling lazy!" She said as she nipped back at him playfully.

When Vasu said that they needed to go see mom and dad, she didn't know what to think. Part of her wondered when her dad had returned and the other part wondered and worried why they needed to hurry to go and see them. "I hope everything is okay!" She said as she followed after Vasu.

A puff of frozen air flitted away from Yiska's mouth as he picked up the pace. Now keeping side by side with his father. Many times when he was younger they might of run like this. Him and his siblings. Those were certainly closer times.

How things had changed since then.

The sound of rapid hoof beats reached Chu'mana's ears. Lifting her head from a top the baskets. Bright green eyes tried to peer off into the distance. Trying to see whoever it was that was coming before they got here. But to no avail, she did not have the eyes of a hawk.

Standing up slowly, she positioned herself over the baskets. Just in case some strangers were tromping through the forest. She didn't want her newborns to be trampled to death.

Hok'ee smiled at his son and then pushed forward a few paces, tempting him with speed. It was a great feeling to run next to his full grown son. Turning his head, he curved around the same tree he had seen not too long ago. When he rounded it's edge, he slowed his pace, seeing Chu'mana close by.

With a few short nickers, and quick nods of his head, he greeted his mate. He didn't want to be too loud, and startle the young. Immeadiatly, he saw the baskets beneath her legs. He grinned from ear to ear, a flush sensation welling in his cheeks. It had been just long enough, and almost too long.

Hok'ee tossed a silly grin Yiska's way, studying his face with intent on seeing his first reaction to the baskets.

Vasu' bobbed along towards the destination. "Good to see you too Shadi!"

Trudging through the snow with increased speed, he looked over at Shadi. "I'm sure she's fine!" he assured. He hadn't really thought ill of the situation at all. His mother was imortal in his eyes, and would be till he saw age in her face. However, the fact that his sister tossed the idea of her being okay, made him want to get there faster.

In the clear, a shadow figure, his mother, started to appear. It looked as if she had company. Moving closer, he could see that his father, and Yiska, had already arrived. Vasu gave a light smile, his dad had found his brother after all.

He wasn't close enough to see the baskets...yet..

As his father sped up, he to picked up his speed. Almost in a personal challenge. Some sons often followed the path of trying to out do their own fathers in certain things. But Yiska knew his father was still several paces a head of himself. The time would come to prove himself yes, but at this moment everything seemed to be focused on his mother.

When they drew upon their destination, Yiska could see the familiar sight of his mother. In all her splendor. Safe and away from harm. Those bright green eyes were only a few of features that stood out. When he drew close enough, he came to a nearly dead stop in his tracks. What...what were those? His own eyes could not believe themselves.

They were baskets. Looking from them up to his mother, he raised both eyebrows in curiosity.

Chu nickered back to her mate. Drawing her chin into her chest as she smiled warmly. The sight of Yiska made her smile more. It had been a while since he had last set off on his own. And it was a welcoming sight to see that he was fairing well. Even with winter now in full swing.

The sound of even more hoof beats now caught in the mare's ears. Was it her other children? Had Hok'ee gathered them all here for this event? If so, she was glad. She wanted them all to meet their two new sibling. "They're about to come out now." Taking a few steps to the side, she nosed each basket. Cooing and whispering to each one individually as she nibbled at their lids.

Hok'ees grin just grew to great lengths as he watched Yiskas reaction. "Mhmm." was his response to everything Yiska might be thinking.

Turning towards Chu, he winked at her with a little lift of his head, turning to look at Vasu and Shadi as they approached.

Vasu stumbled over and then stood close to his family. "So...what's going on? Hey! Yiska!" he hadn't seen the baskets yet, but was glad to see his brother! He looked at the look on Yiskas face, and the wide grin on his fathers. Then, seeing his mothers face, he finally saw the baskets. His mouth formed a sloppy o and his eyebrows raised as high as they could. He looked to the right, then back at his family, all of it... "OooooOoooooh." He got it now. Yes, he felt a little silly for not putting two and two together a whole lot sooner.

Inside the black basket, with the green shaded bottom, the foal listened to all the new voices around him. A fast thud pounded in his ears, as his heart began to race. He had only heard the sound of his mother, and wondered what was going on around him. Pulling into a tight ball, he waited, wanting to hear more of the new voices, but not sure on what to think of them.

Yiska exchanged a brief glance to his brother before his attention was drawn back to the baskets. When did this happen? How...well, not really how. He knew HOW. But still.

It was quite a shock. He hadn't even known his mother was pregnant. Taking a few careful steps forward, he sniffed at each basket. Blowing a puff of warm arm from his nose over their tops. The young stallion had never seen baskets so up close before. Oh yes, he had seen other mothers with their own. But he never dared to get close to them. Mothers could be VERY protective of their baskets.

Moving over next to Hok'ee, Chu nudged him forward just a bit before nuzzling his cheek. The sight of Vasu filled her heart with even more joy. It seems they would all be together for this. What a wonderful sight. All of them, welcoming the new additions to their little family. Together.

Alright. She had had enough. It was time to come OUT!

The random voices outside where driving her crazy with curiosity. Wiggling her body about, the little filly pushed her nose against the top of her own basket. Her neck stretching out as she lifted the lid just a little bit. A tiny grey muzzle slipping in between the crack. For a moment she hesitated. Her nose still out in the open air and her nostrils flaring as the cold air touched it.

Giving a little whinny, she waited for a response. Still a bit unsure of what exactly was out there besides what she had heard inside the basket.
