To say that Resonance was enjoying the evening was an understatement. She was exhilarated. The meeting with her parents had refreshed her and this evening the fireflies were dancing beautifully in the sky and giving her just enough light to dance and not trip over herself as well. While once she would have been doing her practiced two-legger regal dancing, tonight she had let herself become lost in the starlight.
Laughter was flowing as she spun, beautiful locks flying through the air, horn glittering in the light, eyes a shade brighter than usual. Resonance felt like a foal again this evening and while she didn't know why or what caused it, she certainly wasn't complaining. Tonight was a night of carefree abandon, and she looked beautiful doing it too!

 To say that Kishi was a slow learner was also an understatement. Two lovely fillies, all his own, and a slightly crazy mare who had mothered them... but tonight, he was on the prowl for a good time. Some flirting, some sweet talking, and a wonderfully receptive gal were just his style. Leney had kicked him off, and Yue hated him, and really- at the place he stayed, they were the only two he likely stood a chance with, probably because they KNEW that he had foals. Or kids. Or whatever you wanted to call them- he had progeny, and as such, to anyone who knew him, he was a marked man. The sound of laughter coming from... somewhere... made his head rise, ears perking curiously to the side. Such a sweet pitch- it sounded female for sure! And happy! Happy and female was a good start. He listened carefully for the direction of the sound and took to the skies. From below he wouldn't stand out TOO badly, unless one had extraordinary color-vision in the dark. His mane was awfully blue...

Oh, no, Resonance didn't have extraordinary color vision in the dark - though she'd claim to be superior in anything and everything if she had the chance to do so. So this evening, the unicorn didn't notice Kishi flying above her and simply continued her dancing.
"Firefly, firefly," came her soft, sing-songy voice, "Shed your light to see. Starlight fills the evening sky, and you both shine just for me!" Full of herself? Well, no (Okay, a little), but she did feel as if she were the only one in the world currently and that was more than enough for her!
If she knew that Kishi was flying overhead, though, she likely would have stopped immediately and returned to that stiff, dignified and regal standing that she usually kept. What fun was that? Perhaps it was a good thing that she thought she was alone for the time being.

He wouldn't have noticed the mare if it weren't for her singing. Past the singing, the thing that caught his eye was starlight hair and a sleek black body. He dropped down closer, admiring. She was cute, she was lively, and she was alone. He hit the ground delicately, with only the faintest jingle of his earring and the brushing of his wings folding to truly give him away.
He proceeded to hide as best he could, peering at the mare with more than mild curiosity.

Resonance wouldn't be Khalon's daughter if she hadn't picked up his reflexes and his aptitude for noticing his surroundings. The sound of Kishi landing caught her attention and she froze, "Whoever's there," she said, picking up her regal form again, "I do have a horn and I'm not afraid to use it for purposes other than healing."
She also wouldn't be Khalon's daughter if she didn't know how to defend herself.

Oh, how boring. "You stopped." his tone was almost sulky. "And you were so pretty too. Your hair was just like moondust, swirling around. And such a pretty singing voice too." Kishi stepped forward, silver eyes looking Resonance over more boldly. She had a familiar look to her, but he would never connect her with Echo and Khalon. "And how odd. I've never used my horn for healing." A brow rose in a gentle challenge. "I'd sure be interested in learning, if you had a mind."

The beauty turned, eyes narrowed slits as she looked about for the owner of the voice, relaxing only slightly - and only in appearance as she was still very much on guard - upon seeing Kishi. An alicorn, like her brother. Interesting - not as pretty as he was, of course, but still quite attractive. "I do not teach people how to do things," she answered, tossing her head and pushing her currently loose hair from her face. It was annoying her and obstructing her vision.
"Though I do thank you for the compliments." Compliments, of course, were a sure fire way of getting the female's attention. Vain? Not in the least bit, though she did know that she was pretty and wouldn't say otherwise. Needless to say, Resonance knew how to take compliments and do so gracefully. Unlike Dorian who rambled on about how he was the greatest thing since smoked buffalo meat.

He couldn't stop the small grin. He didn't mean it to be insulting, not at all. She sure was a haughty little thing. Didn't make her any less attractive though, unfortunately. "Having some problems with your hair, angel voice?" he didn't exactly know her name, and he was hardly going to call her Stardust... it just didn't seem to fit. Of course, angel didn't much seem to fit either, unless he missed his mark.
"And you are most welcome for the compliments. I'm Kishi." he introduced himself with a small bow, working on his good manners. Someone sure seemed to have taught her well anyways. She wasn't jumping on him and attacking on sight, and she wasn't driving him away brutally either. Just that perfect feminine distance. She almost seemed like a real lady...

"Angel voice? If you do excuse me, I'm certain you could come up with something more original and suiting than 'angel voice'." Sure, it was meant to be a compliment but it didn't mean that Resonance couldn't think she deserved better than 'angel voice'. Cliche!
"Kishi. Interesting name, indeed. My name is Resonance." The bow was appreciated as well and despite her better judgment, a smirk was tugging on her lips. To hide it, she instead went down into a regal bow - though never once letting herself go below him. To do so would be to submit or show servitude - and she was supposed to be regal. Not peasant.
Almost a real lady? Toss out the almost and he'd hit the target well.

He frowned. "Would you prefer Stardust? It seemed a little bland to me, and while angel voice is horribly cliched, I figured it would work just as well. After all, you hardly look... dusty." He lifted his head, giving her an open, almost helpless shrug. "Resonance is a lovely name." And rather familiar. He'd heard of someone with that name before, but for the life of him, he couldn't remember...

"I know," she said, genuinely smiling then, "And no, I would prefer no pet name at all. Simply Resonance will do, thank you." To allow one to call her a pet name would be to admit that there was an equal - and thus the only ones allowed to call her something other than her full name was her family. None she had met had been able to pass her quality test. Of course, what was on that test was purely confidential, even to her. People just automatically failed.
"What brings you out this evening, then, Kishi? Certainly not my voice. I know it's beautiful but it's hardly a flame to draw moths."

"No pet name?" he looked wounded. "Can I even call you Res? I'll call you Miss Res, if you feel it would help propriety any. Resonance is just such a very long name, and I am a very lazy man." If she said he had to call her Resonance, he'd do it, certainly, but...
He was getting the distinct feeling wooing would be very much in order. In massive amounts, and quickly.
"Actually, I was just out. About. Looking for some companionship and some fun... conversation." Yes, conversation would work. "And I heard your voice, and got curious. Not many people about this time of night, singing."

"Only my family has earned the right of calling me Res. And so I'm afraid you're stuck calling me Resonance and getting over your laziness, Kishi." A tilt of her head as she studied the male. Hm.
"Companionship and fun conversation, hm?" What male was out this late looking for simple conversation? Khalon had warned her about such males. Hmm, though. This could lead to some interesting interactions.
Now she had to decide if she was going to be rebellious or not.

He gave a dramatic sigh, and an impish grin. "Very well, miss. Resonance it will be." he didn't blink, pure silver eyes watching her. He had no pupils, which did tend to give what had been best described as a 'Damn creepy look, so stop it.' That was a direct quote from, ironically enough, his brother- who had the same issue. "Of course conversation. I mean goodness, it's late enough outside without staying up for.. extra activities. Though, they are a good way to stay warm. And fun too. But that's something I think I'd better steer from, right?"
Honesty. Or partial honesty.... The best policy.

"Mmm, thank yo--" her eyes caught glimpse of those pupiless ones and she raised a brow, "My, you do have strange eyes, don't you." Direct, forward, but still keeping that regal air about her so she didn't sound insulting. Quite the proper lady, she was. At least she wasn't creeped out by them - of course, she wouldn't be. Resonance rarely allowed such silly things bother her.
"As for the other activities, I've found with males there's no such thing as staying up too late if it involves said events." A twinkle was in her eye when she spoke, "And there are better ways of staying warm."
