 The leopardess was pacing back and forth continually glancing back at her sleeping mate. They had been at the jungle for a while and now they were ready to leave. Only Weusinafsi had some big news to tell Rengo before they left because it would be better to let him know now rather than later. It'd definitely be better now than later in case they ran into his mother when she told him.
Besides she wasn't too sure she could keep it from him anyway nor did she want to. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes and moved towards him gently nudging his side. "Rengo? Rengo...we need to talk." She called to him

Rengo grunted and shifted, gasping a little as he woke up suddenly. It hadn't been a deep sleep, when Nafsi left his side and took her warmth with her it had caused him to partially wake up. Still he'd been surprised by the nudge.
to talk... Rengo's stomach gave a little lurch.. those were bad words weren't they? Had she changed her mind about him? He looked positively terrified when he sat up. "What, what's wrong?" He frowned.

"I have....I have...." she started with no avail. This was going to be a lot harder than she thought it would be. Her heart was pounding her in chest as her mind race, how would he take it? "Ah well..." she tried again flattening her ears against her skull.
Relax, relax. Calm down everything will turn out okay. Nafsi told herself as she inhaled deeply. Swallowing she opened her maw to speak again. "I have some...surprising news for you." The leopard wasn't sure if there was a better way to phrase it before she actually broke the news. "I'm...I'm..." her voice trailed off and her eyes cast to the ground.
"I'm pregnant.." she whispered softly. So softly that it was nearly inaudible.

He blinked and leaned forward, ears perked and almost shivering with worry and confusion. Well it didn't sound like she wanted to leave him.. surprising news? Were they stuck here? Did she find someone she knew?
"Wh--" He cut off as his brain registered what she'd said. Pregnant? "B-by who?" He said, a little louder than normal, and slightly accusing. And then he felt embaressed and a bit foolish, coughing and standing, coming to bow and twist so his face was under hers. "Me?!" He sounded a little upset, and then happy.
"But that means... i mean.. you want a family don't you?" He asked suddenly, not sure what to think. He felt a little sick. Was it a good thing she was pregnant? He thought so. But wait! "Er... but.." He was so young... no, he could be a dad! He was about the same age as his father when he and his siblings had been born...
He swallowed and took a deep breath, nuzzling into her neck. "No, that is wonderful Nafsi.." He breathed softly, hoping she thought the same.
He hadn't even realized what would happen when his mother found out.

"Of course it's by you! I wouldn't have let it be anyone else!" She told him elevating her tone ever so slightly annoyed that he would think that it could be anyone but him. Her anger washed away quickly, it was hard for her to be mad at him. "I do want a family Rengo, do you want one?" she asked her voice falling quite once more.
When he nuzzled her and told her it was wonderful she let out the breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. "Really? That makes me so happy to hear that." She told him closing her eyes and leaning against him. "I have to admit....I never thought it would happen this soon though.." she admitted.
The green feline was ecstatic to find out she was pregnant but at the same time she was terrified. "Do you think your mother will be upset?"

He blinked and froze, face pressed against her shoulder but eyes wide open. His mum. His mother! Oh god, he'd forgotten completely about her!
He took several deep breaths, pulling back and looking Nafsi in the eyes. "I haven't thought about her." He said faintly. "I suspect she will be furious at first.." He admitted.
"But what kind of female dislikes her grandcubs?" He said, trying to keep his tone light and playful. He didn't know what would happen to be honest. "Well... well... it's alright for you to travel right?" He sounded a little worried about that too. Although the jungle was very pretty he wasn't sure he wanted to stay here for such a long time..
After all... he knew he needed advice on how to be a father. "I didn't think this would be so soon either.." His voice was now quiet but a huge grin had spread across his features. "I'm going to be a dad!"

"I just hope she doesn't stay mad for too long." Nafsi replied not wanting to think about it too much. Since their last meeting she did not want to face an angry Nyunya again. That would be terrifying. Slowly she nodded to his question. "Yes. It's perfectly fine." she told him with another nod. She wasn't extremely far into the pregnancy so some travel would be fine as long as it wasn't extensive.
She chuckled at his silliness. "I'm glad you're excited. I am too." A smile crossed her maw with her words. The thought of having kids was just so exciting.

He gave a shaky smile and nodded in agreement. How could she stay mad for so long anyways? Maybe she wouldn't get mad at all! That thought sounded too good to be true though and he wouldn't bet his left foot that it would happen.
He nuzzled into her more, starting to purr. He looked toward her belly and a slow smile flowed over his face. He and Nafsi... had created life! And it was growing inside of her... His heart thudded against his chest and he nipped her cheek softly. "We should leave now then so we have plenty of time to find a good resting point."

Nafsi purred into his neck when she nuzzled him before speaking. "That sounds like a good idea, can you lead the way or should I?" she asked him taking a step forward, they hadn't been here too long so she wasn't sure if Rengo would know his way though it comfortably enough or not. "If it's easier I'll go first." she told him with a nod.

Rengo wasn't sure he could get them out of the jungle, not completely anyhow. But would it be safe for her to lead? He frowned in thought. What if a snake fell on her? Or if she fell in some pit they didn't see!
His stomach twisted in knots and he shook his head. "No, let me lead!" He said, nuzzling her and feeling rather silly for being so over protective. How many chances would a snake have to fall on Nafsi? He doubted it would happen... but still..
"I can lead." He repeated, reassuring himself more than her.

Nafsi rubbed her side against her mate letting out a soft purr as she did so just before licking his cheek. "Thank you." she whispered into his ear before pulling away from him. The leopardess could tell that he wasn't sure of how well he could lead them but she was glad to see that he was willing to try.
He was always thinking of her well being and she loved him for it.

He smiled and began to lead the way, slowly they got out of the jungle with mostly Nafsi helping Rengo 'lead'. It would be a few days until they were back into the Kusini lands, he was both very proud of everything that had happened but also very afraid of what his mother would think.
