Not difficult, just an assignment.
160 BPM
Speed Pick this ↓
E-------------------------------------------------------------- B-------------------------------------------------------------- x2 G-------------------------------------------------------------- D-------------------------------------------------------------- A-------------------------------11-11-12-14-11-11-12-14-- <-This connects E-10-10-12-13-10-10-12-13-------------------------------- to 15 ↓
Then yet another easy part...
E------------------------------------12-13-15^(17)(15)(17)(15)-13-12-------- B-------------------------12-13-15------------------------------------------15---- G----------------12-14^---------------------------------------------------------- D-----12-14-15------------------------------------------------------------------- A-15------------------------------------------------------------------------------- E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E-15-13-12------------15-13-12------------15-13-12------------15-13-12----- B------------15-31-12------------15-13-12------------15-13-12-------------15- G----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- D----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------13-12-10----------------------------------------------------- B-13-12-10-12-13------------13-12-10------------------------------------------ G-------------------------------------------12-10------------------------------------ D--------------------------------------------------14-12-10----------------------- A--------------------------------------------------------------14-12-10----------- E--------------------------------------------------------------------------13-12-10

You didn't satrt or end on the tonic. You sart on the fourth of the A Major/Ionian scale (D) and End on it. So I would say you start and end in D Minor/Aeolian but if you wanted to stay in the key of A Major I would sugest makeing the D Lydian with an added low A note. Maybe a slide for E---5/10-- would be a good way to go. Or if you want to keep it in a minor style move all notes up 4 frets or back one fret but keep a slide, tap, or picked A at the begining to keep it in the key of A or it would becomre either D Lydian, C# phyrgian, or F# Minor/Aeoline.

Try to dumb that down a bit. I really don't know theory, so what you posted doesn't help. I'm sure if I knew what you know, I wouldn't have made the mistake...

The tonic is the root note of the scale you are useing. If you are useing A minor then A would be the tonic. You Started out on D witch is the fourth note of the A Magore and Minor scale. If you want to saty within the key of of A minor then you would use the notes A B C D E F G.

Wouldn't the A# just be a dissonance?

There is no doubt in my mind that it's an A Minor shred over the Phrygian mode (Third Mode) with a few accidentals. The thing ascends using Phrygian and descends using the Dorian mode(Second mode).
The Modes I'm using here refer back to the relative major of A Minor which is C Major. So, the Phrygian mode for instance would start at the Third Degree of the C Major Scale, E for example.
I hope that helps, but if you need more clarification go ahead and ask. I'm convinced that I'm right since I've done several University level theory courses and applied them to my playing xd

Anjith O.O um... I only know one thing in theory and that is what key to solo in a metal song... thats all. xD He's just saying your in a different mode, therefore different key going up. The modes are just different ways to play a scale, different "step" patterns, if you will. But on your way down, you go into the Dorian mode, and if i'm not mistaken, that's the Natural Minor mode. So going down you would be in the key of A minor. And what key do you solo in a metal song? XD At least... the "recommended" one...!

Zei the Seraphim But on your way down, you go into the Dorian mode, and if i'm not mistaken, that's the Natural Minor mode. Dorian is the second mode of the major scales; it's not quite a natural minor. The natural minor actually occurs at the sixth scale degree of the major scales, the Aeolian mode. Example: CDEFG ABC . The natural minor has a flatted third, sixth and seventh if you're interested. SO to answer the thread's question: you're soloing in A Minor.
