 DramaWiki Based on the hit comic book by Tomoko Ninomiya, this is a fun-filled quirky romantic story of two very opposite people.
Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.
Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy, he feels mired in Japan because of a childhood phobia.
They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Because of Nodame, Chiaki got the opportunity to lead a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.

*huffs puffs... out of breath* ahh hahaa.. sorry for the caps. but i just started on this drama and its SOOOO GOOD!!! ^_________^~

I just finished watching it. Well, not the two specials. They're too long, and, unfortunately, I don't have time at the moment.
It's so great. Juri Ueno is so adorable. xd

I'm surprised that more people aren't falling over themselves about this one. This is hands down the best drama I have seen. Loved it.
Animebuddy: You should really watch the specials. #2 was the icing on the cake and left me very happy. I hope for a season2 but if there isn't one... that second special ended the series well.

Animebuddy: You should really watch the specials. #2 was the icing on the cake and left me very happy. I hope for a season2 but if there isn't one... that second special ended the series well. I just finished watching them. Yeah, #2 was really great. Chiaki was so sweet. And I love that scene when they were having that little argument and were tackling each other. So cute. x3

The specials are still relatively new, so if they started a new season immediately, the characters wouldn't really look any older (and they love making the characters look older). And they probably need to get all the cast from the first season to agree to a second season (though that's most likely not a big problem), so I'll probably be a while before we hear about a season 2. So then, is the manga good? I was thinking about reading it, but one of the things I liked about the drama was the music, and I'm sure the manga doesn't come with audio sweatdrop ...

It's just, I've never watched a drama and then read the manga. It's always the other way around. I feel like if I read the manga now, I won't be satisfied... I haven't seen the anime either. I've heard about it, though. The animation looks nice so I'll probably check it out sometime.

XD GYYAAABOOOOO~ This show is like a hidden gem-- to be honest I may have enjoyed this J Drama more than hana yori dango -gasp- I know D: Is gyabo a common expression in japan? lol I was wondering that the whole time-- either way it made me laugh hearing all of Nodame's expression whee

I just saw the trailer for the first movie and all I have to say is: GYAAAAAABO! I cannot WAIT til it comes out! I'm also excited (but kinda sad too) that the manga is almost finished as well. I need to know if Chiaki and Nodame have that piano concerto or not!
