Hmm... though I am by religion a Born-again Protestant (dunno the difference among the various sects, so don't ask), I am still quite open to other religions, practices, etc. I especially like the Chinese concept of balance - male and female, agressive and passive, light and dark, yin and yang.

Of course, this is assuming you mean Black Dranzer from the first season; Dark Dranzer is from the movie. 3nodding

Suzaku and Kuro Suzaku (Dranzer and Black Dranzer in the original dub) are, I believe, one and the same bit beast. Borcloff (Boris Balkov) himself said that Kuro Suzaku is merely Suzaku's darker half that had been imprisoned sometime before or after the latter was, probably during the time of Rasputin - how else would one explain the image of the monk flashing briefly on-screen during his little spiel? In any case, it may be safe to assume that being two elemental halves of one bit beast, both Suzaku and Kuro Suzaku possess the same potential, hence the same abilities. Kuro Suzaku only appears stronger because it is more inclined towards dealing damage than its light counterpart is; Suzaku can deal just as much damage, but won't because of its relatively less aggressive nature (compared to Kuro Suzaku, at least).

If you'd allow me to go on, I'll relate this to the choice Kai had to make between the two. We're all familiar with the belief of animal familiars choosing their partner because of similarities in character or personality (or whatever), right? This is the case with Kai. Like Suzaku, he has a darker half, only it isn't separate from him. He knows this, but refuses to acknowledge it at first; though every bit the bad boy, subconsciously, Kai knows where to draw the line, which he did. Anything about him that was in excess, he suppressed.

Or, rather, he tried to suppress. The first time he saw Kuro Suzaku (according to the anime), he was instantly attracted to it - simply because he identified with it, and therefore wanted to own it. When he first launched that particular blade, it was symbolic of the repressed part of him; however, upon seeing the destruction it caused and drawing the conclusion that he was capable of doing the same, all of it he stuffed back into the dark corner where he'd first locked them away, along with the memories associated with it - selective amnesia.

Here I deviate a bit and bring in a little psychology. We all have a quality or two that we don't like - part of our darker counterparts. We wish to get rid of these qualities, but know instinctively that we can't just wish them away, so we suppress them. For instance, one girl is haughty by nature, and then learns that haughtiness causes a number of people to have bad impressions of her. So she struggles to become humble rather than haughty. In time, she comes to believe that she is naturallly humble. Our suppressed natures, however, will manifest themselves at some point, either through possession - Humble Girl suddenly acts out of character - or projection - Humble Girl meets another person who is haughty (and instantly hates him/her without reason).

This is what happened with Kai. He didn't like the excessive side to him, and as mentioned above, suppressed this. When he next saw Kuro Suzaku, having regained his repressed memories, was possessed by his hidden nature once more. Naturally, he would then choose the bit beast - the familiar - he felt represented himself more at that point, which happened to be Kuro Suzaku.

...oh, dear. Its practically an essay up there. sweatdrop Uhm... I guess I'll summarize now. When one is 100% good, he or she is also 100% evil - in this case, Suzaku is capable of becoming Kuro Suzaku at some point; same thing goes for Kuro Suzaku, only in reverse. They are one and the same bit beast, each standing for one of the dual natures essential for balance. In short, Kuro Suzaku isn't stronger than Suzaku, and vice versa.

Lordy, look what psychology has done to me... O_o

lol way to write an essay flame XD

My answer will now look -considerably- less intelligent.

Black Dranzer vs Dranzer = good vs evil.

As the insurmountable Power Rangers has taught us evil CANNOT win EVAH. They may appear to be winning but then out comes the giant robot and the team nodding and talking-as-one etc etc.

As such with the epic (because you know it would be) Dranzer face-off. Minus robot, team and pink power ranger. 3nodding

In summery: It would look bad for Dranzer before she morphs into a giant killer pheonix of d00m and kick black dranzer's skinny a**.

...Do phoenix's have skinny a** to kick?

Blame my English/Lit and Psychology professors. ...it is pretty long, isn't it? sweatdrop I'm just hoping I don't have to try and put it in laymen's terms; I sux at that sort of thing...

XD I understood it if that helps. And why laymans terms? incomprehensible psycho-babble = waaaay cooler. PLUS gives people the opportunity to nod knowingly and appear smart while not having the foggiest.

I still like my power rangers theory though ^^ Though... There was that ONE episode where they were losing and the episode ended. Thankfully it was a two-part series. And so the power rangers won. (Can only remember that because had realised that the power rangers always won when was around 7 and thus began to lose interest and within the week that episode came on and was devastated- two-part series not being a part of my world and all)

'incomprehensible psycho-babble'... lol

Seriously, my siblings complain whenever I talk like that; they go "In ENGLISH, please!" Of course, I reply "That was in English..." but... well... *sigh*

Power Rangers got boring after a while... that is, after I noticed that they never really lost so far, which I thought was unfair and stuff. That's why I switched to Discovery Channel; you actually see creatures losing something - be it only a limb... or their life.

My opinion to this is that it depends on the time line.

Yeah I agree with flame-sempai. (I don't know)

If you go for good vs evil their maybe equal and at that point Kai may not have really appreciated his old dranzer.

If you go to the last episodes or later seasons, based on ep 48 the two became one and thus creating balance and so this is stronger.

In math: b<(a+b)> a

All I know is that I talk fast with friends and that whatever I write is based on what I know and experienced. Not much on my psychology subject my classmates were stalling the learning. Liked the power rangers a bit but when the first version ended it ended also. The other ones wasn't so good.

dark/black dranzer is more powerful for the level it is at compared to kai's dranzer. but kai's dranzer has the power to become a whole like a person.

@drake: Eh? You mentioned levels and my mind went immediately to Pokemon. I'm hoping that wasn't what you meant XD

@flame: XD only losing their life, hey? Pssh.

...They merged? I -need- to watch the rest of Grev XD. I started downloading them but got bored with the waiting for slow internet and download restrictions and stuff after Brooklyn's first appearence when it's Tyson vs Moses ... err... Crusher... *can never remember which one goes with which version* (he was introduced to me as Moses so I'll stick with that one ^^)

... goddessanime, whom do you mean when you say "two became one"? If I recall correctly, Kai and Suzaku (Dranzer) never merge; they just began acting as one e.g Kai doesn't have to give the order to attack because Dranzer already knows what he's thinking; there's a difference between the two (I am going to resist the urge to go into another relatively long dissertation post)... >.<

'Merging' is two bodies becoming one - sharing one body, etc. This usually involves the two bodies becoming an amalgamation, exhibiting physical features of both combined e.g a person covered with fiery feathers and whose arms now have wings actually attached to them.

Kai and Dranzer were only acting as one - I believe the term used in Rockman Battle Network is 'Full Synchro' - because of the following observations and deductions:

1. It seemed like Kai had merged with Suzaku, but the wings (I think there were wings at some point) were only a visual representation of him and his bit beast working together as flawlessly as humanly possible;
2. Kai and Suzaku's movements, while perfectly timed, are still performed separately i.e. they're still in their own respective bodies, as far as visuals and personal interpretation are concerned; and
3. Where a merging would have resulted in both Kai and Suzaku dying - as they are supposedly only one being post-merging - after their second battle with Brooklyn, only Suzaku disappeared (again, personal interpretation plays a great part here), while Kai just slipped into unconsciousness.

Hence, blader and bit beast haven't merged, rather, both had entered a state of wherein each was totally aware and open to the other, allowing each to take control, which resulted in both sharing the same will and thoughts, carrying out the same actions (as mentioned, in perfect synchronization), yet still as separate entities.

Erm... yeah.

Red Dranzer > Dark Dranzer > Cyber Dranzer > Black Dranzer

Red's the only one still in the series, right? razz

If you're of the opinion that Kai actually died, you're of the opinion that Dranzer merged with him in order to bring him back. I just wanted to throw that out there.

kai is the owner of black/dark dranzer he does not use it for the reasons of it is to "powerful". the red or normal dranzer is the one he always uses and has become telepathically connected with. cyber dranzer is more or less a digimon using binary codes, and false proteins to make it self. and panda i was kinda referring to a pokemon/final fantasy rpg leveling system.
