In his song redemption if you listen closely to the english words he sings at the one part "I have nothing to lose, nothing to lose." at least thats what I hear. I hear nothing about truth and every music Vid I find and most lyrics i see online plus the ones on the dvd it says Nothing to lose nothing truth or no truth.... Why is that? I know I Hear nothing to lose nothing to lose....

It's probably the way he pronounces it. I hear the same as you. And I've tried to hear 'truth.' The lyrics you are probably looking at could be wrong. Or Gackt really does say truth and again it's probably how he pronounces it.

Hopefully that answers your question.

Isn't it You that says it?

i watched and rewatched my Drug Party & Diabolos tour DVD... as well as listened to the song itself... before, during, and after class & work. i listened to it without thinking of the lyrics, it sounds like "nothing to lose, nothing to lose." but if you try very hard and listen intensely, all the while thinking of the line... you DO end up hearing the lines "nothing to lose, nothing truth." strange right? i think it's the accent... within the Japanese language, there is no "TH" sound (nothing i can think of right off the top of my head)... so it's harder to pronounce words like "truth". i guess that's the reason why we don't catch it right off the bat. it's the accent and the pronounciation that confuses.

hope that answers something. that's just my two cents on this. Or maybe Gackt is pulling our legs. :XP: lol.

I'll have to listen again, but to me it sounds like nothing to lose.

I also hear "nothing to lose" and I change my lyrics to that but I think the official lyrics are "nothing truth" If you break truth down to the way that a japanese person would say it, it would be "torusu" which is similar to "to lose."

I still don't hear truth no matter what I try.. : / Its still "Nothing to lose" to me... At least I'm not the only one sweatdrop I Even had a friend compare the first time he says "Nothing to lose" to the supposed "Nothing truth" and said it sounds like nothing to lose to her as well... If it was his accent wouldn't his first way of saying it be a little different to?

I have another question for those who have his DVDs Blue and Red... his best PVs...

In Vanilla PV where he sings "Wanna Need Not Betray" where the hell did they get something about batteries?

and if there is some one who knows how to translate Japanese really good can you show me what he is singing in his song Mirror... The DvDs show that he says a few cuss words... but He doesn't seem like the type to put those words in his songs... : /

All these subtitles are making me confused and its the reason why I'm questioning Redemption so... if his English in Vanilla was subbed wrong whose to say that what I'm hearing and reading in Redemption is wrong as well?

I just want to get the right lyrics >.> cause if the english parts are wrong whose to say the translation from japanese to english is wrong and if that is the case it makes it harder to learn japanese by reading the lyrics and the translation >.>

well... if they heard it for the first time, it's hard to differentiate. hell, if you didn't mention it, i wouldn't have known at all. i watched the Tour/Live DVDs over and over again... i do hear You-san say "Rusu" which is my best interpretation/romanization of the word "lose". it takes sometime, i don't advise for anyone to fry their brains out listening to the difference/tones/sounds/etc.

i don't have either DVDs. i myself rely on other's translations. but uh.... wha? huh? batteries? where you get that? are you talking about the line before "I wanna need. Not Betray."? but uhhhh... i get most my translations from Mina-P. i seem to trust Mina-P's translations... may be due to her disclosure that she is working in Japan as an official translator. but that's just me, that's solid enough evidence to convince me. sweatdrop ummm... but yeah... she seems to break down certain lines and/or words of each song that might seem confusing to her and to some. check it out.

it's hard to translate foreign language, because sometimes one word or saying can have so many ways of interpreting. i don't know. i'm even having a bit of problem translating correctly in my Japanese class. So many rules, regulations, word meanings, word uses, etc. plus translating japanese word for word, and making it into an english sentence can be very wrong. first week, first mistake i made. sweatdrop but uh... good luck if you, yourself is wanting to try to translate his lyrics.

I got the batteries part from the DVD translation and thats whats making me really doubt the truth/lose part... Maybe I'll put the vid on my PC and put it up on Youtube or something so you can all take a look at. Do you have Mina-P's page or a link or something? that'd be helpful ^^

He actually does sing a good bit of English in that song. confused

The second line of the song is:
"What eles can I do, besides avenge you?"

And right after the first chorus he says:
"You told me to live as if you were to die tomorrow, feel as if you were reborn now, and face as if you were to live forever."

And right in the middle of that second verse he says:
"I had nothing to lose, nothing truth."

Toward the end of the song screams:
"Make it up!"

And of course the last two words of the song are:
"Redemption."

It is all right here
