(Seasons, After Fury battle, before meeting Vlad)

"Is that him?"

"Yeah."

"He's covered with blood and blue stuff!"

"What should we do?"

"We watch."

Writ heard the whispers of Manuel and his gang as he limped down the block. They were hiding behind the shop. Not exactly the best place considering that Persy could just burst out the door and strangle them all with vines... Or sic a three headed dog on them... Or something. He hoped she didn't do any of that. They were his friends after all, and he felt that he still their friend, despite being taller, and older, and slightly godlier.

His shoulder cracked again. Writ grunted in pain, he was sure something was broken. He looked back. Morrigan and Crow weren't there. Maybe the goddess could heal her, or something. He never asked, busy with his own injuries. She had better do something, in Writ's eyes, Morrigan owed Crow for being such a... b***h.

The door of Seasons rang and the windows of the store became filled with the eyes of curious eleven year olds.

"What in Tartarus happened to you?"

Persy crossed her arms as she stepped from the counter, looking the boy up and down. To be truthful, with the way she'd practically wilted in the past few weeks, she wasn't looking all that good herself, but she was willing to ignore that at the moment to stare at the young man that she'd really only seeing that tall once before, seeing him as a young boy before that.

"Please tell me you killed something with all that damage."

Outside the window, the gang was chattering.

"Is that the Green lady?"

"I think so."

"Yeah."

"She's all... Orange now! Is she sick?"

"How can a witch be sick?"

***

"Yep." Writ said crisply, which soon softened to a grunt. The godling glanced at Persy. That was Persy, right? Yes. Yes, something told him that. Wow, now he really couldn't call her the Green Lady anymore. She was kinda... brownish.

He heaved himself onto the counter. Bones creaked as his arm weighed down on the wooden surface. His nerves snapped at him for being stupid, and his arm was back to hanging helplessly. He leaned on his good shoulder instead.

"You don' look too good yourself." Writ said with a small grin.

A pause. The grin lowered.

"I need help." The young man presented his blood covered body to her, as if that wasn't obvious already.

Persy shot a glare out to the youngsters in the window, her eyes narrowing as she crossed her arms and tapped her foot in an irritated manner. What, did they think she couldn't hear the words said directly outside her sanctum?

Oh, right. They didn't know she was a goddess.

Shaking her head, she turned with a huff to Writ, whose curt remark had about earned him a trip to the door. However, as his eyes lowered, so did her anger, and softly, she sighed, stepping closer. "It's autumn. Things don't grow as well," she commented with a shrug, looking over his wounds. It was pretty obvious that his one shoulder was a mess, but just to spite him she gave it a good poke for measure.

"Yeah, you're gonna need a splint for this...Echo!"
It didn't take long for the pale girl to poke her head out from the back room, giving a sheepish smile to Writ before disappearing once again, coming back with a set of bandages. She looked up at the boy silently, turning her head at his wounds. What had happened to him?

"I'm going to patch this up as best as I can, and then give you some herbs to help the healing. Take your shirt off." Echo silently giggled, but Persy maintained her glare, unwrapping a set of gauze. It looked like there were more scalpels than bandages, though, which could lead to some potentially scary ideas about the woman's doctoring abilities.

Writ had been listening as well, his sense of hearing wasn't as keen as Persy's (A first!), but he heard the voices behind the glass. The kids had shot off as soon as Persy glared. He didn't have to look out to see, their frantic footsteps trembled in his ear enough for him to get the picture.

"Ow!" Writ hissed as the florist poked him, sucking in his breath between grit teeth, "Watch it!"

Enter Echo.

"You again!" He waved to her, "I guess you made it back alright."

Something suddenly dawned on Writ. He looked at Persy. That ghost before. He said something about her being the Queen of The Underworld, or something. His mind wandered on the fact slowly, wounds and blood loss had put the brakes on his normally fast thinking. The stopwatch whirl of his usual self was replaced by the ticking hand on a clock, clicking slowly and evenly by the second.

The Queen of The Underworld is asking me to take my shirt off. Writ's thoughts drifted, Huh.

So he did without a word. It was when the scapels were broken out did his eyebrow raise. The Underworld... That meant death, didn't it? Oh yeah, great idea he had, ask the Queen of death to heal a broken shoulder, wonderful! Next he'd ask for a hot shower and a juicebox. Nervousness was creeping in. Apparently, he didn't think this through.

Writ's eyes narrowed at the knives. She didn't know he knew, did she? Gods, he hoped not, he might get more than he bargained for if she did. He didn't know how much this florist wanted to keep it a secret, but he wasn't in the mood to be poked full of holes right now.

"Don't you need, you know, painkillers and stuff for this?"

Persy began to laugh at the squeamishness of the boy, lifting up a thin metal board that could be mistaken for a saw. "Painkillers? None of the heroes of old had painkillers, and I can only offer you an anesthetic after I've set this shoulder. Otherwise, you'll start to heal too early, maybe. I don't know how your blood will react to it, honestly."

Echo frowned; she didn't like it when Persy joked like that. Smiling weakly, a golden armlet clinked on one wrist as she waved it in greeting. "I made it back alright," she confirmed, giving herself a silent giggle in spite of herself. She wanted to tell Writ of how Ciro had gifted her so, but maybe, he would recognize the bond anyway.

"You two know eachother?" Persy asked, raising an eyebrow. "You know what? I don't even want to know." Pressing the cold plate flat against the boy's chest, she used her free hand to begin wrapping bandages around it loosely. "Alright, one, two--" Before she finished her countdown, she pushed his shoulder hard into the plate, cracking it into place with a sickening sound. The goddess then began to wrap the bandages more tightly, setting it in place.

That sounded like it hurt.

"Whatev- AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Writ yelled, screaming a chain of curses as the metal plate crushed his shoulder back into it's place.

He took a sharp breath through his teeth to cushion the pain, "Yeah... Thanks, really, thanks." His voice had a tinge of sarcasm, "Definately could've been gentler, ya know?"

The godling held his shoulder tightly as he laid on the counter. He looked at Persy, "Oh yea, Coyote says 'Hi'."

"You've got quite the foul mouth for a little kid, you know that?" Persy commented, wrapping the bandages even tighter up and down his shoulder, arm, and even a few around his chest for good measure. She only looked up to answer his comment on Coyote with a glare, and then moved back to her work, not before pushing the boy's shoulder into the plate again, just to 'make sure' it was in place. "Give him my regards as well," she grumbled, tying up the bandages with a sure-to-be-painful jerk.

Echo saw the sign as her cue to bound off again, returning with a mixing bowl of herbs. She took over the treatment from here, picking certain leaves from plants throughout the room and holding out the bowl to Persy for her judgement. The goddess poked her fingers through the leaves for a thorough inspection.

"Good...good...good...Nope, not this one," she said, pulling out a spade-shaped leaf dipped in violet. "If you'd have mixed that in, the poor kid would have died a horrible death by fever and having his body covered in nasty little blisters." She gave Writ a wicked grin, then tossed the leaf aside. "We'll save that one for later. Everything else looks fine."

Shaking her head, Echo took a blunt tool and began to softly mash the leaves until it made a salve with a look similar to guacamole, not that either one of the two would know what it was. She dipped a finger into the mix and tasted it, her nose curling in disgust as she mimed a cough, then held up the bowl with both hands to Writ's face. In that close proximity, it must've smelled disgusting.

"Drink up, kid. It'll kill the pain, and probably put you to sleep for a few hours until it heals over."

"His fault" Writ said, pointing at his head, he hissed in pain as the metal plate strained against his shoulder, "Yea, he wants to talk to you..." He looked at Persy's reaction, "Later." He added quickly. A lot later. He layed on the counter again.

After hearing Persy's inspection, he looked at his shoulder. He really REALLY should've went to the hospital.

"The hell is that?" Writ pinched his nose at the mixture. "You sure I gotta drink it? It looks like it goes good with corn chips or something."
