The Scheming begins
After mentioning and suggesting and suggesting it I got tired and decided it was time to make a thread about this. So here it is:
I don't know about you, but over these past few months I have begun to notice that we are an extremely talented bunch - not just a bunch of crazy random shy people (despite the opinions of some). Many of us do art as a hobby, be it drawing, avatar edits, CG, signatures, wishlists, banners or even the coot little cows that we have come to grow and love as our mascots.

The Latest:
The store is heading towards a Revival of sorts, except the store will be held here instead of out there in the shops forum. It will pretty much be a commission thread.

To do list:
Check all artists are still committed and check for anyone I may have missed
Recruit help. I need someone to help with the general running and maintenance of the store when it's up.
Check over everything and discuss any problems with the people involved.
Ideas and Issues:
Main setup of the store
With all the different kinds of artist we've got we can set up like a really big plaza type place, where each artist has their own section and then maybe from time to time we can do collabs together and auction them.
~ Personal art stores would be completely at the disposal of the artist, you can do as much or as little art as you want, as long as people dont disappear completely then it wouldn't be an issue. Anyways even if they so we've got here and the shy thread to comunicate.
~ Collaborations don't take that much, just trust in your fellow artist and patience. They would only be a series of "one offs" at the very least, maybe once every few months or a Gaian event like Halloween or Easter. Myself and Misty have already completed pictures together by sending them bit-by-bit over AIM. She does the eyes, I do the hair, she neatens and adds to it, I start clothes, she finished them... if we have maybe four artists working on any one picture it shouldn't take too long at all. biggrin

Concerning existing stores
An issue was raised on what to do about people who already have their own stores. I know how long it takes to get one organised and running so I'd never suggest giving it up to start in this one. Two solutions I thought of were simply shifting the details of your own store to the USPT one, so in your personal artists section either transfer the details of your existing store or link it from the store. The other solution would be to keep your store completely separate to this one, and maybe choose a different form of art to what's in your store i.e. do ava art in your store and wishlists in the USPT one. These are only suggestions and it's up to the individual artist as to what they want to do but it's something that still needs to be discussed. 3nodding
Artists:
I'm already starting to see a diversity in the kinds of artists we have here which is just spiffy. Looks like it won't just be full of avatar artists after all wink Below is a list of the artists who've expressed interest and what they do and what they may contribute - but we still need more!
Me, Myself and I: Animal art, I draw all kinds of animals from penguins to cats to parrots. [Status: Unknown]
Scallop: The creator of our beloved cows. (It has been unanimously decided that they goes nowheres though 3nodding ) Upgraded blobs have been suggested, maybe some ava art too? [Status: Unknown]
Shukuen: People/Avatar lineart. [Status: Unknown]
Bjorkubus/Taki:Full body portraits/Avatar art. [Status: Available]
Kestrel Hengist: Banners and Chibi headshots [Status: Unknown]
Pessimistic Optimist:Avatar art and whatever she wants xp [Status: Unknown]
Baranquesseiel: Witty stick figures with optional colors by Taki. [Status: Available]
Note: Just because you've posted and you're not on this list right now doesn't mean you're rejected or anything. It probably means you haven't been specific enough about what you want to do or I think I need to discuss it with you.
If I've left anything out or got stuff wrong don't hesitate to let me know. For those of you who said you aren't good blah blah blah enough dammit! You can help in other ways. Helping with the running and organising of the store, becoming a guest colourist from time to time, helping out in a collab or two. You are needed.
