User ImagePya Miwanzo was a strong lion, though only a cub, he had muscles that where much larger than the other lion cubs within Umo’s bunch, and even to most of Umo’s daughters batch, Pya had a very strong looking body. His tuft of mane on the top of his head was also larger than the other cubs. Though he was far from being an adult he was starting to prove that he would one day push for being alpha. He’d push a sibling out of his way if he needed to get a teat to feed from, and now that the cubs where starting to eat flesh, he was always the first one to it, and digging right into the best parts of the meat that either his mother or father prepared.

For now he just lazed about in the sun, feeling even past naptime, tired. He’d finished eating up the last of his fill, and left the rest to his brothers and sisters. No he wasn’t a pig, or someone that was rude and cared only for himself, but also when he wrestled with the other cubs, he’d out strength them. Maybe not out smart them, but he could put any cub into submission. He reflected in many ways… Umo’s father at an early age.

(i'd post his image but I am at home so I can't really do that very well. xDD And you know what he looks like. xD))

Umo knew from the moment that his brood was born-that Pya was going to be a reminder of what he used to hate... but now loved. HIs father had markings similar too his sons pelt, the same swirling pattern that Umo did not inherit. He had gained more of his mothers marks than his fathers-and he was sort of pleased to see the bastards genes starting to leak into his family. Though, he had always feared that his children would gain his fathers fury and wrath... he had no fear anymore.

Umo has watched as his family fell asleep amongst each other and noted that his son Pya, had wandered off a bit and was basking in the suns rays. He smiled, glad that opportunities like these-to have one on one time with his children. After all, with the company of their aunts and uncles... they did not have alot of alone time. So, Umo was glad to find that his dark son alone. He eased himself up from where he lay snuggling with his mate and Pya's mother-Kika. He padded over softly and lay down next too his son-nosing him affectionately with his nose. He especially loved that Pya had his nose marking almost perfectly

Chirping, Pya turned and looked up to his father with half lidded eyes. He’d never been one for snuggling, even when he was unable to see he’d push himself away from the other bodies. He had some traits that where cold, but it was those traits that made him so strong on resistant to failing within the future. Rubbing against his father to acknowledge him, Pya slowly flopped back into his lazy position within the comfortable sun. He’d been thinking a lot lately about his niece, Ukoo. She’d rarely sleep, and she was always crying, an obvious sign of being the runt of the litter. Umo’s son, disliked Ukoo because she was so clingy to the adults, cried a lot, and woke the small pride up with her weird dreams. Having only the experience of a cub, Pya was narrow minded and thought very lowly of Ukoo.

Laying for a moment, Pya stared off in the distance and spoke up; his voice too held a lower tone than the other cubs, more firm and threatening than a cute cub voice. Though, it was still a cub’s voice, ”Dad? Why is Ukoo so weak?” For the young cub, he’d tried his best to impress both his mother and father, but he strongly leaned closer to his father. A couple times he’d be caught trying to mimic his father’s long firm strides. Not only this, he was always playing by himself, hunting the small bugs that where difficult to catch, or in come cases, chasing small vermin. He’d never actually been able to catch one, but he’d almost caught a frog that the family once ate with every meal.

Pya strongly demonstrated dominant like traits within his personality… Pya strongly demonstrated Umo’s fathers traits…

Umo gazed down too his son, smiling into his sons crimson eyes. There were things about Pya that really reminded him of times when his father had looked down too him-but Umo would never-act as his fathe did. Pya had the patterns and some of the attributes of his father-but was far from it... for he was Umo's son and that made him his own.

He smiled at him, admiring his growth and his attitude-he was a strong boy and Umo knew it. He reached down to nuzzle against his little boy-and chuckling at his flopping gesture-like Umo did often. It was that subtle hint of-tired-sleep...

Umo's eyes changed with the question. He had too, noticed that his granddaughter-Ukoo-was diffrent. She seemed to suffer-though nothing ailed her. She slept little and... it frightened Umo... almost enough to want to call upon his god friend and ask him what it may be.. if it was the same thing that ailed Dumu... something along those lines. He gazed at his son and reached a paw to poke him in the rump. Ukoo... is not weak but she suffers from something we do not understand Pya He said, blinking his red eyes slowly-sadly. His daughters children pleased him so-a family... a safe one. He looked away and into the distance for a moment. He was curious. Why do you think she is weak my son?

Remaining in his flopped spot he continued to stare off at nothing. On top off all his current antics he was in particular quiet, more so than he already was. He’d go off to this spot and just lay at times. Even if he wasn’t tired… Pya had found that the darker boulders gave off more heat during the day, but where also the coldest at night. How ever, during the cold nights he’d be snuggled closely under one of his father’s legs or paws. More than any thing he hated to be picked up by the scruff, that was when he’d let out loud howls of displeasure. Another trait that confirmed his cold exterior was the fact that he rarely if ever, cried. Even at very early ages he made little sounds, but if he was agitated he’d do something about it physically. Either by swatting away at his mom when she tried to clean him, to hissing at his father when he scolded him…

Listening to what his father had to say he closed his eyes, and thought about it. She was sick, and the pride mainly hunted the sick or elderly animals within a herd. This would mean… that Ukoo was weak, even though Umo said she wasn’t. He furrowed his brows in confusion and looked back to his father, ”Ukoo’s not weak… but she’s sick?” He squirmed so that he faced his father, and also gave a distance away from the two, his fathers touch was un-welcomed, ”Dad? I thought mom hunted the sick or elderly animals because they where weaker than the rest…” Looking down in confusion Pya shook his head slightly not understanding at all what his father was saying. ”Ukoo… Will she be weak for ever?” Looking up his dark red eyes stared into his fathers awaiting an answer that would make sense.

Umo could tell that Pya was confused a bit... It was understandable. The problem was explaining so that his son understood. Perhaps using his eldest sister Kinamasi, as an example. He nodded at this thought and tossed his head towards where Kika and Kina lay. Well no, she isn't sick I don't think... I think she is like your aunty Kinamasi... she walks funny... and thats because she was born like that... but she hunts and is normal in every other way. He said with a smile and a nod-for it was true. Despite the limp she suffered from birth-she was strong and a mother... two things that Umo was proud of her for.

You see Pya... Just like Mommy talks really quiet and I talk very deep-its normal. Ukoo-was born with what she has-but she isn't always sad is she?

I don't know if she is going to be weak forever son... I have to visit a friend of mine soon-and perhaps he will help me understand better for Ukoo's sake.. but she needs your support and love just like everyone else...
He said matter of factly, pulling his paw away from his son... he didn't like being touched alot... Umo sometimes would clean him despite this-but today was a serious time

Watching Umo Pya felt secure that his father was doing his best to explain what he couldn’t under stand and as he spoke he connected the dots, how ever, his heart denied what it had taken in. When things where weak they would loose, and if Ukoo was weak, she’d bring the entire pride down; because Umo said that every one had to love her, including him. Shaking his head he sighed irritatedly. ”My older sister… Kinamasi… She can’t run as fast as mommy, can she? And mommy… She can’t discipline like you can; and you… You got mom kicked out of her home. Standing, Pya couldn’t understand why his father tried to color the picture brighter than it was. His logical and young mind raced with hateful thoughts about how weak his entire family was. Except for a few other siblings, Pya felt that he was the only one that was worthy enough to be called strong. His father had given him his strength, and his mother gave him his intelligence, and heightened awareness of his surroundings. Pya’s only down fall was his crude out look on life, and his inexperience within life, and his inherited prideful rage.

Turning towards his dad, his head was cocked to the side, still in his resistance to under stand what his father was trying to say. ”Dad…” Tears began to fill his eyes, with frustration, ”Is our whole family weak?” Looking down he began to sniffle, only when he cried was when he wanted to be touched, and held. When he cried he was allowing himself to be a cub…

Umo didn't want to do it but he had to tell Pya that this was not he way to talk about their family. He nodded solumnly at Pya, his crimson eyes avoiding for a moment-hopefully another Tope would not result from Umo's life... another scar-the pink one on his nose was just healed and was no longer tender. He sighed and looked down. Weakness's are an apart of life Pya... and we must accept them or we will die ourselves. He said with somewhat of a tone in his monotone-deep voice. He blinked and looked down too his son. There was so much that Pya wanted to know that we was too young to understand.

It is my fault that your older brother left us and gave me my scar Pya.. cause he hated me... and I-don't want you to hate too... because hate- He paused and caught his breath. He hated hate... his father had hated him from an early age and that was all Umo knew-and now he restricted it from his life as much as he could. Hate is why I was alone for a long long time Pya... if I had not of found your mother like I did... I would still be hating... everything... Do not let hate ruin you too son.

He reached out and pulled his son too his chest, he didn't care if Pya would protest, but his crying child-crying over something as trivial as life's problems and genetics. Pya... Our family is strong... even though we were banished and could have been killed-Mother and your older siblings left and hoped that everything would be okay-and it is... Weakness's cause greater things to come-happy things...

Pya just sobbed into his fathers chest, feeling angry and confused at the same time. Why did Ukoo have to be so weak, why did she have to bring every body else down!? He tore himself from his fathers chest, clawing and biting if he attempted to stop him. He turned and ran away, he kept himself quiet. Tears still ran down his cheeks but he felt that he had no body to turn to, Umo… his own father was weak? Before he reached the tree line where his little form would easily disappear he stopped and fell to the ground, curling up in a ball and simply sobbing. He didn’t want to be weak! Not ever… Looking back to where his father was, Pya just sobbed, barely able to see out of his eyes, and making nothing more than wailing noises. He’d broken down so hard, that it became obvious that Pya had been thinking about this for a long time, and that what ever he felt was how he strongly believed was how he was supposed to feel.

His father said to love Ukoo when he wanted to push her away for ever, he said that the entire family was weak. He admitted it, and that every body just had to work together. But when every body was weak how could they survive? His dad was confusing him, and making him mad, and even though he pushed him away he cried out for, ”DAAAD! I HATE being weak!!!” The truth was, Pya pushed himself too hard all the time, and the moment he felt weak or insufficient he pushed it to the back of his mind and made himself believe that he’d have to be top every time. His young mind was destroying itself, Pya was falling apart… At such an early age, it would take a lot of love and supervision to keep him from becoming like his grandfather. He not only fought himself, but the evil genes that corroded his personality.

Umo felt the cub against his fur and felt his tears-and his own sorrow filled his heart. He disliked seeing someone he loved in pain-especially over something so trivial as this... this fetish with weakness. He made small shushing noises, wrapping his large paw around his boy. He disliked this-and did not know how to make it better. You are not weak child... you are so strong and so is the family... and you just need to see that... you focus too much on the bad aspects and not the good.

He nuzzled his son closer to him, reaching down to nose him gently and clean his cheeks of tears-he tasted. Then, his son dashed from his grasp and he balked, shaking his head... would his son ever learn? You are not weak Pya... Was all he could say, since his son did not seem want to listen and see the good for now-so Umo chose to let the boy find out on his own.

We as a family are strong...

Lying by himself he curled into a tight ball, sobbing into his own pelt and muffling his tears. This lion cub was torn apart as something as trivial as being weak. Something like this would never have been considered by a creature so young. Lying in place he continued to shudder, and shake. He began to feel cold lying under the shade of the forests trees. His father’s warm body quickly became attractive, and not only that, but having his fathers supporting touch. He stood slowly and quickly made his way back to his father’s side, burying himself into his father’s chest. ”I love you dad…” It was out of place considering what was being discussed, but it was the only thing that Pya could manage to say to his father. He did, his father was such an inspiration, so big, and strong. Umo and his mate went together so smoothly, this was what Pya was attracted to. His parents where his world; then again… he didn’t have any thing else to go by besides his older sister and her mate.

Umo shook his head and shushed him again, lowering himself too the ground so that he could reach pya with his cheeks and rub him affectionatly. His poor son was so distraught and Umo-did not understand why? He pulled his paws around his little boy and began to clean him with his pink tongue-lapping the salt from his boys cheeks. I love you too Pya Miwanzo... Do not forget that He said, his crimson eyes closing so that he could concentrate on his boys breathing sobs and his heartbeat.

Umo's family was his life-and the only thing that mattered to him. This place, the pridelands-was the best thing for them and he hoped that his children would fall in with the pridelanders-since they were safe and peaceful people.

Do you love your brothers and sisters too? Your neices and nephews?

Pya simply sobbed into his father’s coat, his father’s affection quickly calmed the boy’s sobs and tears, and within a minute he’d just sniffled and held his eyes shut. Leaning his head towards his dads cleaning motions he began to purr. It was something that he’d never given his father before, the satisfaction of letting him know that he loved him, sure he gave him due respect but he’d never given him the type of affection towards his father that most youngsters would at this age. ”I want to dad…” Opening his little teary eyes he looked up and his bottom lip began to quiver again, he feared that his father would soon grow tired of his presence as he grew tired of those siblings, nephews and nieces around him.

Not understanding himself was the biggest problem of Pya’s then again, most creatures question there purpose much later in life, being more mature, and being able to handle the mind of that maturity where two separate things. Poor Pya suffered a great deal from his mixed thoughts and theories of how things should be ran.

Umo gaze down at his boy and studied his sons eyes... his face. Every one of Umo's children-prided him so and he was so thankful for the gods... for letting them be his. He knelt down and nuzzled under his sons chin-feeling the vibrations of a pur against his snout. He smiled, purring back his own love to Pya. This was what Umo wanted, his son to feel loved no matter what, and to love no matter what. Memories of Tope flooded back and he felt a stab of sorrow-for that was one child he had not been settled with... one that left and... and he hoped he'd see again.

Umo shook his head of those thoughts and brought them back too his son. They love you Pya... Did you know that!? Just as I and your mother love you-they love you in return. You sister Kinamasi loves you... so does your brother in mating, Hasani. They all love you and... you must never forget that son. For we are family and that is what we do. He said with a smile.

Feeling the vibrations of his fathers feline love, Pya purred even more vigorously. His eyes shut and he could feel dreams and sleep begin to slide over his mind. For now he felt at rest, but there was still the beast within, questioning whether or not his sister deserved to receive love or even give it!? At any rate, his niece, his father, and himself would calm that monster once and for all in another story. This one was coming to an end.

Rubbing against his father with his face he looked up as he touched noses with his father affectionately, ”Dad?” Pya began, ”Can I sleep with you tonight?” A question that would be just as rarely heard as it would be asked. How ever, Pya did have a very affectionate side, which was covered by a hard shell that was passed down from his fathers genes. He would be nothing more than a huge loving male. Fighting and anger would be something that would be rare to come over this lion cubs pelt…
