 The day was going relatively smooth. With Gurami around, days moved faster and the trek to this new pride longer. Banda had wandered away this morning however. The idea of a nice stroll in the rising sun was so pleasant; Banda wouldn’t miss it for the world. His paws half dragged on the crisp savannah grass, but somehow managed to pull himself under a thick, leafy tree where he could wait for sunrise to begin. For now, things seemed jus perfect, but their everlasting trip to the pride still wasn’t over much to Banda’s dismay. Wrapping his tail around his paws, the lion’s fur ruffled out as he attempted to soak in the morning’s sunrays. With a sleepy yawn, he laid his head on his paws.
”The sunrise can’t be long now.” He blinked thoughtfully, wondering if he was being a rude mate for not inviting Gurami. Then again, he wanted her to get some sleep. The idea of her being tired and weak for the days walk didn’t appeal to Banda at all. His ears twitched slightly as a pesky fly buzzed around him, but soon Banda found himself in just the right type of nap. The one where when the sun began to shine through, he would instantly awake. Like an alarm clock, but furrier.

 Koi was getting worried about her sister, Gurami. She hadn't met with their other sister and herself, to have their usual meals and this unnerved her... even though she was fairly confidant that her sister was okay. She had to keep telling herself it was okay for her sisters to go off on their own every once and a while-but it freaked her out. She was the protective one and she very well couldn't protect her sisters if she didn't know where they were?
She huffed and paced back and forth, her purple eyes glaring. Oh, she'd tear into her sister-when that girl came home. She should have told her... that she'd be going off on her own-so that Koi wasn't so freaked out.
She swished her tail, with its unusual parted fluffed end, much like the fin of a fish. Sister... where are you? Why must i be vexed with worry about you?

Banda's head lifted, dazed and sleepy eyes blinking as the slightest sound of paw steps reached his ear. Great! Someone had woken him up too early, the sun still well hidden. He heaved himself up with a grunt, the normal before sunrise nap seemed out of the question. Again, he practically dragged his paws along the ground, the paws seeming distant and far. With a wide yawn, he seated himself out in the open in attempt to meet the rude visitor that had awoken him.
"I hear you." he muttered sleepily. Banda wasn't the friendliest of lions when it came to mornings, especially when it meant he would have to apologize for his rudeness later.

Koi sat down and pouted... she was so worried for her darn sister. Their other sister didn't know very much or she was hiding it... Why? Koi sighed and looked up to othe skies, desprate to ask them for help when a voice rang. She perked up, her orange ears twitching? A male with a bright orange mane was wobbling it seemed. Perhaps he was injured?
Closer inspection told her he was almost asleep on his feet perhaps. She noted his bright orange mane and thought that was an unusual thing but it drew her towards him. Perhaps he could help her. Sir? Could you help me? She asked, going up to him quickly and staring at him with her purple eyes looking desprate.
I am terribly sorry if I disturbed you. I thought I was alone

His head swung to the side as he realized his visitor was closer than anticipated. With heavy steps he pushed himself towards the stranger, where he seated himself. She couldn’t be all bad, she did have a bright coat like Banda.
”Now. Think reasonably next time you stop into an area please.” Banda grinned in amusement, his paws still feeling stiff and tingly from just waking up. Lightly, he shook his head and blinked away the sleep from his eyes. This was quite an unreasonable hour for a stranger to come along.
”What do you need help with? I assure you, I will probably have no way to help, but telling someone my troubles always calms me down.” With a curt nod, Banda wrapped his tail around his paws and urged her to begin.

Koi made a face at him-after all he had been the one sleeping all by himself without anyone around him and in plain sight. He was fair game-as far as she was concerned. She sniffed her nose, blinking her purple eyes at him with a desprate look. She was so terribly worried... What if her sister was lost or sick-or hurt!?! She could feel her blood surge over her body as she thought of it. Ohh. She stood up and paced. My sister has gone missing... it hasn't been 'that; long but-] She said in a rather worried tone of voice.
She sat down in front of him, sighing deeply. She's my younger sister... she looks like me... only no orange-and she has my eyes and...and... me and my sister are so very worried... there's three of us.. and its just us left.. so... She stuttered, shutting her eyes tightly

Banda yawn, careful not to look uninterested. The last thing he wanted was to make enemies with a frantic female. But as soon as the description escaped her mouth, he felt like the sun had froze overhead. A thick, block of ice shoved deep into his skin. That sound so much like…But what were the odds?!? There were bound to be many brightly colored lionesses out there, Banda had only had the pleasure of meeting one. He sighed restlessly, a fly buzzing noisily around his ear. He wasn’t quite sure if he should tell this stranger he knew a yellow lioness with purple eyes, fearing that if she was her sister she might take Gurami away from him.
”Yellow? Hmm…yellow is an odd color. Does…she have a name?” A hopeful, yet doubtful smile glued to his face, a twitchy smile straining to show.

Koi could feel tears start to brim over her purple eyes, feeling useless and helpless for having lost her sister so easily and could almost hear their mothers weeping sobs as she looked over the two sisters and cried for Gurami. She shook her head from these thoughts... she just wanted to know where he darling sister had gone?
Her name is GuramiShe said with a stiffle. It wasn't that she was freaking out-but her two sisters were all Koi had and she-was afraid of loosing them... they were all she had. Since Koi had not had intrest in males... she was sort of skeptical of what would happen when her sisters took mates-and Koi would remain alone and barren. I wish I knew where she was...

A reluctant face sprang forth; the name was the icing on the cake. Gurami was a common name, right? Banda's sleepiness ceased at once, his eyes full and wide. What was she going to do to him? Banda might have had all the patience and knowledge in the world, and that still didn’t help him with this. After all, he had never dealt with a lion missing in action, and a distraught sister that didn’t seem to fond of him at all. Banda breathed calmly. Females could smell fear, or at least that’s what his father told him. OK. I’ll tell her step by step, and before she can get angry I’ll offer to take her to meet Gurami. He smiled, and nodded more confidently now that his thoughts were straight.
”Well, Gurami…Is a very pretty names. It’s..Farmiliar. Very, farmiliar. I…I ran into her a few weeks ago. Yes, that was it.” Banda’s voice strained, his confidence now hollow and empty.

Koi wiped at her cheeks with her yellow paw-trying desperately to calm herself down... after all-her sister had only been gone a small while, She shook her head slowly and trying to think of what her sister was dong right now.
Her attention snapped when he sad somethng along about meetng a guram and she sprung up. Really? You've met a Guram? Perhaps t was my sster.?

Banda nodded, shrugging quietly.
"I..know it was her. S-she talked about you. I...in fact we are...you could say "traveling" with each other" The male murmured, grinning awkwardly as he stared up at Koi. Still unsure how she would react, he took a step back. Preparing to tell her the rest before she could shout, or yell at Banda for taking her sister away. Taking a deep breath and forcing the fear into the bottom of his stomach, he continued. Unsure of what would result from this.
"She asked me to come with her to the pride. She also asked..." Banda cut short, looking up at the female with wary eyes, waiting for her reaction to the news so far.

Ko sprang at the mentonng that she knew her... t must have been her sster... t had to be. She looked pleased and when he stated they were travelnng together, she blnked at hm... huh? She watched hm back away from her and she cocked her head... dd he thnk she was gong to freak ot because her sster was wth a boy? She smled warmly though. Ahh. eye see... so-you know where she s then... don't you??"She sad, sttng back and smlng devlshly.
You wouldn't happen to be courtng my sster would you?

Banda's eyes widened briefly as he took another stride back. Females knew everything! Father was right! He finally seated himself down, the prickly grass poking as his fur as he seated himself. Was it obvious? Had he just given it away? Why wasn't she mad? Why all these questions?! Banda heaved a sigh before looking up with a crooked grin.
"Maybe?" He looked back at the tree where he had been napping earlier Gurami lay asleep just beyond. No idea Banda had ran into her sister.
"I'm just surprised your not...upset! She described you as a kind, but protective." His shouldered broadened, each piece of fur standing on end as the warm sun melted onto his back. It was about time the sun came up! He turned his attention back to Koi.
"You aren't...mad are you?" He pondered, wondering if the female could mask her emotions.

Koi smiled devishly and sat back on her haunches, her yellow front paws against her orange chest. So, this pale male-was with her sister-and perhaps they were courting one another. She had never really thought about how-her sister being so beautiful-would attack males and indeed-Gurami had. Question was-how was this male going to take three females-almost all the same color-and very very loving to one another-a posse... how he would react.
She chuckled. Maybe or most likelyShe said teasingly. She lowered her front paws too the ground and stood up, walking around him slowly-gazing at him. He was strong-fit-healthy. He would be good for her sister. She could trust him. Upset... upset that my darling sister is being courted by such a male... such as you...
She said, stopping and seating herself in front of him again. She smiled up at him and wondered what her sister had also told about her. She chuckled at his last comment and she had the insentive to act angry-but she could not be. Angry? No-no dear Banda... I am glad... but... be warned.
I will destroy you if my sister is harmed! She said straight, dryly and seriously. She then added- Did my sister also mention that?

[[ DD: I'm sososo sorry for the late reply! I've been away for the holidays and it's hard to get time on the computer ;o;]]
A lump ran down his through at Koi's words. He would never hurt Gurami, would he? Or at least, he would never mean too! What right did this female have to come over and give him a lecture about how to care and love his own mate? She had woken him up, made him miss the sunrise, he had told her where her missing sister was, and not even a thank you out of it? It seemed highly unlikely she was even the sister of polite, gentle, and sweet Gurami. Did this lioness have any manors?
"IT just so happens we had other, more important things to talk about, 'Dear' Koi." Banda announced mockingly. This was a whole new side of him, one Banda had never felt. He was...angry.
"I'll give her word of you visit and should we meet again you'll of have plenty of catching up to do with her, but it is early and she is sleeping." His words were stern and flat, the idea of not being friendly to his mate's sister made him shiver, but he couldn't help it! How was he to have a conversation with her when she was being so unpleasant?
