User ImageSwim alone small fish for there are many in the sea but sadly not enough to feed me.....This female had wandered away from her two sisters and from the others-her family. She loved them all dearly but sometimes a girl had to escape the talk and hub-bub of those whom she loved. So, she walked a distance from where she knew they were going to rest... She often got overwhelmed being around her sisters, she was the eldest thus more dominant and protective of them. When her sisters were threatened earlier in their life-Koi had thrown herself into their defense... and now it was just her job and her life.

But...

Sometimes Koi got lonely and wished she could find someone to dominate and protect her like she did her family... But... she was content with where she was... with her sisters. She sighed, planting herself in a nice area where the dirt was uncovered of its grassy pelt. She bent to clean her tail, where the long hair was parted in the middle-much like a fish tail. No matter what she did too that dang thing-it always parted so-thus her fish like name. She blinked her purple eyes, folding her paws underneath her and nestling down to watch some of the birds dance among the trees.

Xana was still lost! Why was it so difficult to find these darned Pride Lands!? The gem was slowly covered in droplets of vapor that collected from his breath, and finally giving up he headed toward the water hole. He was tired, it had been a good while since he had been in the Pride lands again, who knew what Kuumbia was up to now. It bugged him greatly that he had no idea that the female he was chasing after was doing things that he did not know about. She does not know his feelings, but he certainly was ready to tell her about his. The gem was dropped as it rolled down to the water hole, stopping short of the water hole.

His deep orange eyes glanced around and immediately caught sight of the female nearby. His muscles tensed as he paw immediately placed his paw over the small, rough emerald. His long, thin tail flicked as he gave a slight scoff.

Xana casually bent down and drank from the water.

Breaking away from his traveling female companion, the leopard had hunted quickly, ate it and was going to the water hole to wash up then head back. However, little did he know that there were already a few others there. However, Ba'kru could care less as he was about to head back to someone he cared about. It made him feel bad that he left her, but he had to hunt and he was a very slow hunter! She could have killed three times his kill before he even got his first.

Without a passing glance, the leopard bent down and took his own drink.

As ususal, Koi was so engrossed in her thoughts that the presence of others was real. She just thought that the tingle she felt on her spine was from watching the birds flutter aboust the tree, and her tail twitched as she smiled merrily up at them. Truth was, she let her guard down alot when she wasn't around her sisters.... her attentiveness was allowed a rest when away from them. So, she did not notice the two at all, HEr purple eyes watched as a finch twittered down from its perch to chirp at her angrily. She giggled lightly, reaching her nose towards it as it hopped along on the ground-which it found not so funny but still cute.

She wiggled along the ground, using her front paws to drag herself along until she flopped on her side and lay there, her front paws stretching towards the little bird... where it chirped at her in anger again. She laughed and lifted a paw to swat at the little bird.

The bird flew up and away from her, over to the direction of where Xana was. Koi followed the bird, lifting her head to watch, when her vision fell on Xana. She straightened, not aware that she was in the presence of another-especially a male. She seemed embarrassed... and she was... She may be a member of the dominant female pride-but... males unnerved her sometimes... Especially strangers...

She blinked her purple eyes slowly, feeling foolish to have been playing with a bird.. and acting all childish

Ba'kru was the first to speak with his up beat, jolly tone. "Hello there you two, good day is it not? The water so fresh and hits the spot," he chuckled as he took a few more laps at the pristine surface, ripples falling over the surface before dissipating. His sky blue peering at the both of them. He saw nothing wrong with neither, but he could get the hint of something... tense. The female lioness seemed stunned or something to that affect. The male was tense and serious as his eyes looked directly at the female. Strange.

"Name's Ba'kru!" he announced with a smile.

"Xanatos..." the cheetah spoke as he looked at the female. He could tell the voice came from a leopard from the little bit of it that he could see from the corner of his eye. Blue, a very deep, dark blue color with some black and a conflicting lighter shade. What was a leopard doing out here? With a scoff, his attention focused on the female. Two beings that could be of some use to him, but the female was the most fragile and easy to get information out of. After all, all those he showed his gem to simply obeyed him as they looked into the green glimmer.

"Female, what is your name. I believe you could be... of use to me."

Koi balked when a voice rang out and she realized that it was not from the stranger she was looking at but.. a leopard... She blinked at him and smiled kindly, for he had spoken kindly. She stood up, glad that this stranger did not unverve her as much as the other did.. She giggled quietly, almost with a breath. What a friendly creature. Well, hello... I have not had a drink yet-but I am sure that it is amazing and soothes the thirst. She said, her tail curling around her side as she nodded, showing she had heard the name being announced. What a sweety. Hello Ba'kru... I am k-koi

The others voice, the one that had fist caught her attention, spoke as well and she looked at him, her purple eyes tempted to look at the ground to see what distracted his paws... but chose not too. She nodded as well, accepting his name into her memory. Even though in the tribe she was from, dominance over males reigned-she did not show her dominant traits often. It was just-her quirk. She caught sight of something glittering and tossed her vision too it quickly, before
Use to you? How so?

Ba'kru smiled and nodded. He licked his maw to catch the last of the droplets of water on his maw, still having some drip from his furry chin. With a chuckle he took another sip. "My I have not had such great tasting water in such a long time, and I doubt I will find any more where I am heading soon. So I might as well get my fill now. Though, I should not stay too long, I have one to go back to shortly before I lose her," he chuckled. "You have a very nice name, Koi, it sounds if you are shy. By the sounds of how you introduced yourself, perhaps you are 'coy'." Kru chuckled.

Xana scoffed. "I am in need of directions. I wish to locate the Pride Lands, surely the third lion was the charm. I have asked three other lions who could not help. I have asked a female who could do nothing but gawk. You best be different," he looked at her and then to the leopard. He looked not too knowledgeable but he could be of use to him. After all, he was lost from his destination. Finding the Pride's territory was the most important thing at the moment, the top of his priority list.

The cheetah took a bold move and waded across the water to the female, his paw limping awkwardly in the water that only made up to his 'biceps'. He smirked and gave a glint in his eyes. "I must agree with the leopard, you sounded a little coy toward him, but to me... oh, why so defensive?" he asked as he approached, he placed the paw with the gem first, firmly against the ground and the rest of him before her. His dripping form pressed his fur against his lean physique. While the leopard was shorter and bulkier, he was leaner and taller. he gave a smirk, teasing her to answer as his paw moved around the tattered cloth wrapped gem.

Koi liked the leopard and found his presence very pleasent but... the other one un-nerved her. She chuckled at his comment about the water-and truth was... koi loved water just as much as her sisters did-but she did not really tempt herself to savor it in the company of such strangers. It was only her custom. She nodded slightly at Ba'kru's comment on her name... perhaps there was a bit of a connection between the two words. But, Koi did not see herself as shy or 'coy' but rather... she didn't know. Perhaps it was only cause she was caught in the presence of two males and without her sisters around to flirt and tease them-she felt the attetion was all on her and it was unusual but a pleasent change. Perhaps I am coy... though not many feel that way about me She said simply, her soft and pleasent voice loud enough for the two to hear her.

She turned her gaze to Xana. She blinked, thinking deep into her mind to where she had heard that pride before. She bit her lip, sitting down and curling her unusual tipped tail around her paws. She wasn't so sure if she liked the way he said 'she best be diffrent' as though it was going to be her fault everyone he asked was unknoledgable of this place. She shook he head slowly.
Sorry... but i have no clue. I am just a simple girl who never really had any interest in knowing of other prides... so She said with a shrug. She noted that he walked funny and apparently that shiney thing she had spotted earlier was something he toted around. Curious. Well... the way I was spoken about as if I was an object that would 'be of use' rather that somene who could help you on your journey... I suppose that was the reasoning for my defensiveness... She said, glancing down at the scrap of cloth and pondered why someone would want such a thing. You will surely forgive me... I am not normally this unnerved around males such as yourselves
PostPosted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 11:30 am

Ba'kru quickly stalked up before her, standing between the two giving a nervous chuckle. He smiled at the cheetah, Xanatos. "Oh dear, don't get so huffy on her because she may not know of this pride, as you have heard. You cannot expect every lion you come across to know where such a pride must be. You can't simply demand an answer and see others as a tool, why, we barely know who you are. We cannot just divulge such information even if we knew it!" he defended.

Xana scoffed as he jerked his head away. His spots just seemed to ripple over his skin, tight and taunt, one could tell he was a fine and valuable male... if they knew what he had to offer them. His eyes made Kru shiver a little, they were so strong and sharp, as if piercing himself. They were eerie.

The cheetah picked up his paw and let the cloth unravel around the opened end to show more of them gem it held. He smirked as he waved it before her rather casually. he had done this before to females to make them feel weak as their desires told them to take hold. He had met a few who did not want such a thing only because they had one themselves or too into their love lives to care. Xana had used it for many purposes, but this time was to make them think.

"Do you know where the Pride Lands are?"

Kru shook his head before he started to watch the emerald shard move back in forth, rolling in his paws. Oh how Alula would love such a trinket! But it was not his to take. The leopard cleared his throat and looked at the cheetah.

"Perhaps, perhaps not. I am a vagabond and I travel where I wish to go. I have not heard of such a place, but I might have been there depending on certain things that I might have noticed there."

Xana looked disinterested and peered at the female. The trick worked on males, oddly he had found many males willing to invite him to spend the night. Perhaps out of hospitality or take the gem as he slept. Either way, it worked quite effectively.

"The Pride Lands is a calm territory of the largest pride of lions. The royal family dwells in a large rock formation. Do you know of it lioness?"

Koi could not help but smile at the leopard-for he was a rather pleasent individual to talk to... and he seen eye to eye with her-so to speak. She nodded as he spoke-her bright fur shimmering as she nestled herself in more comfortably. She thought Ba'kru to be very pleasent indeed.

Then her sights fell back too Xana, who scoffed and looked away. She could not help but be intrigued by his furs pattern-even this leopard had unusual colors and marks... Sure-she was used too her sisters bright oranges and yellows-and she was a mix of the both. She looked down too the shimmering gem and understood why he lugged that thing around so-even though herself had no use for such a thing. She nodded, for no real reason. It was pleasent to look upon and she was curious.
What is that, if you do not mind me asking, Xanatos It was a simple and polite question. She had never seen something as that-and she was very curious-though her lusts were not to possess it but-to know about it.

She watched Kru's head move as he watched the pretty object. She smiled and listened to him speak. A vagabond. She wondered what it would be like to travel from her family-but was unnerved by the thought as well so she pushed it from her mind, tossing the yellow tuft of fur from her vision. She flicked the yellow split tuft on her tail for a moment in thought.
Well... I think I have heard of it... from one of my sisters-but... otherwise I am afraid I am also not one of those to ask... I am regretful to not have been able to inform you better sir.

The male cheetah put it down, rubbing the back of his neck as he sighed. "Damn it, this stupid trip should not even be taking this long..." It was starting to piss him off that he could not get back to the Pride Lands. He could perfectly get to any of his many places from anywhere but getting back was absolutely impossible sometimes. He had left three girls by this time because of this, ones he actually cared for. But it was a loss to find his way back to them now as they probably already had cubs with some other male and that their hearts were taken. Kuumbia was a tough girl, perhaps she can take care of herself, but he had to at least try.

Kru looked at the gem as it was slowly taken away from his sight, his attention snapping back at the cheetah. Such a beautiful shard of green must had a reason if he was lugging it around in such a weird thing. Was that some sort of leaf? He must had a reason for it and by the way he spoke, it was as if this place important. He was no lion so he could not join... but perhaps.

Was he seeking a female?

By his actions toward Koi, he could only suspect. That smirk, that boasting gesture to show her his muscles. Well, it was what he did to Alula at times... he flicked his ear back in thought. The Pride Lands had a big rock thing? If he recalled, he may have been there. There was a big pointy thing, perhaps it was a tree, but it looked so far away... perhaps? The leopard stood up and smiled.

"Perhaps if you turned around and went on straight. You will pass another water hole, keep going until you reach a tree that was hit by the crack of the sky, it fell over. After that, you should see the big pointy tree, rock thing. If that is the Pride Lands that is..."

Xana nodded, put the gem in his maw, and immediately sprinted off.

"Phew, he's gone!"

Koi let her paws pull up to her chest and she nestled down a bit, gazing at the two. She wondered what was so important about Xana finding the pridelands and the big rock. She blinked quietly, looking over towards the leapord and listening to him more than the other. She stretched out, her yellow paws tickling the ground. She gazed over only long enough to see the cheetah pick up his shiney green thing and run off. She sighed, leaning sideways and falling onto her side-stretching.

She looked up at Kru and smiled.
Hmm... He is gone isn't he? A rather odd one he is She said, smiling up at him and rolling so she was upright again. She smiled up at him.

So... why are you out here?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 5:15 pm

"Not odd, he's just seeking his female. Otherwise, why else would he be carrying that thing around?" he chuckled as he turned back to her. She seemed tired or finally able to relax with that cheetah gone. His tail flicked as he sat himself down. The female seemed so calm now, now that the cheetah was gone. Now that he could focus on her, he noticed that she was a lot brighter than he had originally thought. Such a strange color of yellow and orange, those colors were easily found in the jungle's flower field.

"I wanted to quench my thirst before I head out to the beach. I am going with my female companion, she seemed very willing to go, especially with me. But wandering like we are, is part of the fun, dun you agree?"

Koi laughed and nodded for now she understood the reasonings for that strange sparkley rock to be totted around like a young cub. It made sense... she had seen males offer their female's gifts of meat or something lovely-and that rock had been lovely... so it did make sense. "I see... that must have been why he was so frustrated about finding the-pridelands. She commented, cleaning at a spot on her paw that appeared a might bit dirtier than the rest of her.

Both her and her sisters were such a bright color and they had received it from their mother.. there was word that their blood line was also carried out in a male-one that left the pride long ago. Koi and her sisters loved their bright pelts and wore them proudly. Koi, had half of each sister.

I see... Everyone seems to be finding themselves someone to care for these days... Hopefully my sisters will find someone to be at their sides...

I have not really wandered much, though I often find the thought intruiging... but... I am meant to stay here with my family
She said, though not really as positive as she could have.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 04, 2007 9:45 am

"Perhaps so, but he could have been a lot nicer about it and not see us as tools to be used then cast aside as worthless..."

Ba'kru smiled as thought of Alula. Her big, lithe physique with her inky black fur, decorated with those strange butterfly markings, it was just the way she was that made him happy. Perhaps it was because she had wanted to stay with him. She may not have found it as much of an impact, but he however saw it as a meteor hitting the mountains. Having a female like her with him was a definite change in things... but would that affect his chances of finding that special someone?

"I am traveling because I am seeking someone... My heart yearns for love and perhaps I might have found her... perhaps I will, but for now, having this cheetah with me will be a good things. However, what I really want is a family. I know, not many males would want it or ask for it as too many are out there for the pleasure of mating-no, not I... well, not so much, but I really do want a family," he sighed softly. "However, no leopardess would love me so I guess I could just settle for loving someone."

Koi cocked her head and shook it, stepping closer as he said his last refraine. How could someone talk so lowly about themselves like that-when in fact-she was fascinated by his markings. Unless there was some reason that hid under his mask of blue. Now now-I won't have none of that... No matter what you think-or may know-talking about yourself like that is no way to talk to someone you care about-She said, smiling kindly. She stood and sat next to him and pointed to his chest. -And that person is yourself.

And just the fact that you are not fully into the family thing-due to the pleasure of it-but for the real love in it-for the family and the love it brings-that is enough to bring in any female of any species dear
She said with warm smile, putting her paws down and curling her tail tip. And if you love her-let it be love-don't fret about anything else... for love is love-no matter what the color or body... understood..
