It was late in the valley of D'ob but depite the hour and the season the air was merely cool, not bitingly cold as it would be near to Casa Tiner. Remaining here, the currently blind stallion considered as he lowered his head cautiously to the surface of the small stream he stood in, had been a good idea. The white Reya started slightly as his muzzle touched the cold liquid but a moment later he recovered himself and, chuckling softly, began to drink.
Once he'd had his fill, he raised his head once more and back slowly up the gentle slop of the bank. Once back on level ground, his gave himself a shake and flapped his pallid wings a few times before settling them back against his flanks. "Eira?" he called softly after a moment or two, ears swiveling about in search of the sounds of another creature. "You about?"

Eira moved along quietly, thinking. She almost walked right past the stallion except she heard her name, causeing her to turn and see the stallion standing there. Now why had she almost walked by him? She shook her head and approched. "Yes, i'm right here." she said, stopping beside him.

The white stallion turned towards the voice with a smile. "Ah, good," he said, smile widening a touch. "Was starting to think you'd vanished." The softness of D'ob's grass and the smooth elegance with which the speckled mare moved often made it difficult for him to tell where she was at night. Luckily though the brown Ichsa always replied when he called out rather than keeping silent and taking amusement in his inability to see as he knew, or thought he knew, some Nequus would.
"Is it a nice night?" the albino asked after a moment, turning his pale eyes skyward. Was it cloudy? Were there stars out? He liked it when Eira told him such things, partially for the knowledge and partially just because he liked to hear her speak.

"Now why would i do somthing like that?" she laughed softly. "I've got no place else to be so don't worry about me running off."
"Of course it is. Its not raining and that is always a plus." She said, her own smile reflecting in her voice and off her face. She too looked skyward. "Its clear tonight, and the stars are out. Their vary beautiful. There is no moon tonight tho, so its kinda darker then normal. But the stars are brighter without the moon's light. Its kinda hard to tell but it looks like in the distance there are some rain clouds. I just hope when they reach us it doesn't rain."

Morthan chuckled and nodded, lowering his head from his blind inspection of the skies. "Likewise," he agreed. "Warmer than most of the rest of the world it might be here but I still like to avoid a soaking in winter." It took so very long to get dry and even the slightest wind made you shiver; no fun at all.
"I must say, I'm looking forward to spring," the white male commented after a moment. "Once it warms up in the rest of the world I can take you to see my home, at long last." Not that he really minded this delay; it was a chance to get to know the brown Ichsa better without having to contend with harsh weather. He could see why so many Nequus chose to settle here in the valley; it was a good place to be.

"Yes, and the sickness that came with it." she really hoped neither of them got sick. She'd never taken care of a sick somone and worried she'd make it worse. And she worried she'd cause trouble for the stallion. So, best not get sick.
When he spoke again she nodded. "yes, i'm looking forward to that. but sadly you can't rush the weather so..." she shruged. "we might as well get comfy." She had no idea how long until the spring but in all honesty she wasn't in a huge hurry to get there. She was content being here so long as the stallion was here.

Morthan nodded, whickering his agreement to the mare's words. "Everybody seems far less territorial hereabouts; probably because finding food isn't exactly an issue," he commented with a nod. "That'll make it easier for us to make ourselves comfortable for as long as we want to stay."
Perhaps they could temporarily attach themselves to a larger group of Nequus even, if they felt like it. It had been so long since the blue-eyed stallion had been in a herd that he hardly remembered what it was like, but so far as he recalled it had had its pros and cons just as being a loner did. In the end, he decided, he would probably be perfectly happy either way and happy to go along with Eira's wishes if the matter came up.

She nodded. "yes. and that is always a good thing. I just hope food never becomes an issue around here. its much nicer the way things are." she said. She looked around. "I like this particular area vary much tho..." she said, nodding. "simply because i havn't run into any large groups traveling around. I've seen a few smaller groups of mabye three or four but they move on and this place stays quiet and cozy." she said.

Morthan smiled blindly over at the beautiful mare and gave a nod of his head to her words. "We'll stay around here until spring then," he said as he scratched at an itch with one wing-claw. "After that we can go to my territory and stay as long as the weather's nice... Yes, that could be good." Make Do'b home in harsher seasons and his old haunts around Casa Tiner his place to be in warmer times. "I think it could be nice to have more than one home," the old stallion said with another smile; he'd been smiling a lot of late.

"oh its much nicer then staying in one spot. When you move around it keeps things ineresting, and you can never get bored. Personally i'd love to, mabye stay in Do'b when its the worst weather, then travel the rest of the year. I've done it before, tho then i never stayed in one spot vary long. But spending mabye a month or so...it could be nice...."

Morthan smiled at her words and gave an approving whicker. "Yes, that sounds like a good idea to me actually. I'd like a chance to see the rest of the world after having lived for so long in once place... Perhaps not the red mountains though," he concluded with a chuckle and a shake of his head. "Damn Katilenuck would have my hide if they spotted me, and I wouldn't exactly be inconspicuous with all that red dirt about."

"Well i'm sure they can't control the entire area...I'm sure we could still go, so long as we didn't get to near to their lands." she shook her head. "I really don't understand why they think they are so superior. I mean sure, they can fly fast, big deal. I'm alot faster then them on foot i bet. and so what if my breed isn't the rocket scientists of the world, least we arn't so big headed. least, not the ones i've met..." she stopped and blinked before she laughed lightly. "i was getting myself worked up for no reason."

Morthan chuckled at the mare’s passion and had he been sure where she was he would probably have given her an affectionate nudge. "It's a religious thing, I gather," he told the elegantly built female. "They believe that Reya killed Jala, and that they're somehow chosen ones because of the tear marks they all have. Something like that. Utter bollocks if you ask me but that's fanatics for you; all sense goes out the window when people convince themselves they're super-special-awesome-chosen-ones especially if they get to look down on everybody else as well."
Smiling softly to himself, the white Reya chose not to point out to Eira that her breed were famed for having big heads as well as empty ones. It wasn’t the case with her, so as far as he was concerned it didn’t matter in the least.

"true." she sighed and shook her head. "its a dangerous thing, religion. Makes people crazy, apparently. i'm glad i don't assosiate myself with large groups of my own kind. I much rather enjoy the company of single nequus of other breeds. They usually are much more interesting and much more individual." she smiled. "like you."

The white stallion chuckled at her words and struck a pose; he hoped it looked suitably amusing. "Thank you," he said a moment later, smacking at a fly that had settled on his flank with his tails. The creature buzzed away, and the white Reya turned his attention back to Eira. "I think I prefer being around you than I would a great big herd too. Not only have I been on my own far too long to get used to being surrounded be dozens day in day out but I must say that you are by far one of the most fun people I've ever had the fortune to come across."
She wasn't like his mate had been, not in the least, and for that he was grateful. If she had been, he would probably just have seen her as a shadow of a Nequus long dead. As it was however... Well, he didn't see her as a shadow that was for damn sure. He wasn't quite sure what he did see her as yet but he was beginning to have his suspicions.
