((Welcome to the Winter Festival! Here in Axis, there are many preparations to be done before the town is ready for the grand party that marks the highlight of the festivities! There is decorating, cooking, and present wrapping to be done, and doesn't that big old evergreen in the town square look just a bit too bare?
The party itself will start Wednesday when I get to work (8 a.m. ET) and last until Friday evening, but in the case that everyone is having loads of fun it may get left open longer. <3
This storyline can be considered completely independent of the current storyline--which means that anybody can join in without wrecking the timeline of their thread. If you aren't currently in a thread, you needn't worry about this--but if you are, that means that you can integrate the festivals occurrence however it will fit best with your timeline. In other words, if you're in the middle of something and you don't want to break in on it, you can continue with your thread elsewhere and still participate in the festivities, then blend it in later.))

Zasha stretched her back a bit, putting her hands against her lower back and then leaning over them. She uncurled her tail from around her leg as she did this, cracking it like a whip and wincing at the popping noises that produced. She had just spent an inordinately long time working on the silver angel that would top the tree in the town center.
There was much more to be done, so she carefully set the angel in her work cabinet and locked it up, sliding her keyring into her pocket.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Enid snorted.
"If you kids can't carry a few garlands ten feet, what am I paying you for?"
Hands on her hips and legs planted firmly, she was watching a few kids from Icarus that she'd hired to help decorate her shop. The poor kids were a bit overloaded with greenery.
Peeking up over his armful of decorations, Kit scowled.
"You didn't say you wanted us to shift a forest out of your basement and on to your shop front."

"Yeah, ya big ol' meanie~ Where's your sense of holiday spirit anyway?" Emileigh muttered under her breath, sighing as she dragged a box of ornaments from the basement. "Don't you have any?" She hefted the box onto a counter and panted slightly. "You have so many decorations, where do you plan on putting them all...?" she asked.

Enid sighed and rolled her eyes, "What business is it of yours, anyway? I should think that for the stuff I'm giving you as payment you'd work a bit better at this."
She tapped her chin thoughtfully, looking up at the shop front ahead of her.
"Well, somehow I managed to get it all up there last year. It helps to wrap things around...Other things...To get it all to fit. The little columns next to the door are good for that."
--------------------------
Kit stood in front of her an opened his arms, unceremoniously dropping the garlands he'd been carrying at--and partially on--her feet.
"There ya go, ya old bat. Anythin' else?"
--------------------------
Enid raised an eyebrow at him and kicked a string of green off of her foot.
"Yeah, there's more boxes in the basement where that one," she jerked a thumb towards Emileigh, "Just came from."

"Oh boy." Emileigh sighed, then began the trek down the stairs once more. "How much more is there...?" she grumbled under her breath. Enid doesn't seem very... good with words. Emileigh smiled to herself, walking into the dank unknown. I wonder if that's a weakness...? She shrugged. There's no way she'd get into a fight with Enid of her own accord.

Kit followed behind Emileigh, all the while making harrumphing noises. His eyes widened as they reached the bottom of the stairs, and he let out a low whistle.
"That is a lot of boxes."

Emileigh grunted. "I've noticed. Might as well get started..." she sighed, rolling her eyes, and looking about her. She headed towards the nearest box, and tried to pick it up. "Oh my..." Emileigh almost fell under the weight. "What does she have in here, a dead body? Good God..."

Kit snorted. "I wouldn't joke about that, she's been known to make people disappear."
He moved to the other side of the box and bent to lift one side, then looked at her expectantly.
"Well, are we gonna heave this thing up the stairs or what?"

Emileigh was thankful for the darkened place, because immediately, she could feel a blush rage mayhem across her cheeks. "Uh... I guess so, give me a minute." She hefted the box into an easier position of carriage, then smiled. "Okay, I'm good~" And the blush is no longer there, so that's an added bonus... Emileigh sighed. She hated Christmas... it played tricks on her mind.

"Wah!! There's something weird going on here!!" Alucard stared at the place in awe, watching everyone working about, "What's going on? Hee."

(('Kay I'm back to color changes. Emileigh is red, Loralei is green. Yay for my creative side~))
Loralei smiled and took Alucard's hand, looking down on him kindly. "We're getting ready for the coming of winter." Loralei cocked her head at him. "You do know what's coming right...?" She grinned happily. "It's Christmastime!"
((EDIT: Alriku convinced me to change to Christmas colors...))

((aw, we need green xDDDDD ))
"Is that what they call the coming of the cold?" Alucard found it silly that people would get festive over something that should make people miserable. His facial expression was beginning to show distaste over the preparations.

Loralei frowned. "You get presents. What's not to love?" She really had to teach this boy much more than she expected. "You don't know what Christmas is?" She shook her head. "Come on, I'll show you." She dragged Alucard into the city, pointing out things like people working together to bring about the coming holiday, the joy on people's faces.
"Christmas is a good thing." Loralei nodded. "I can't believe you don't even know what it is..."

After almost dropping the box on his foot, Kit finally backed out of the door with his end of the box.
"Geez, leave it to a girl to give me the hardest time--going backwards up stairs is not my idea of fun!"
------------------------------
Zasha stepped outside and headed for the tree in the town center. After a bit of work on some silver gifts for the heads of each Faction, she had retrieved the angel that would top the tree and was now on her way to start the ceremony that would see it safely to it's position there.
