Story/

In a future not so far away the Earth’s brightest star started to fade. The sun grew black and started to decay, withering like a flower in winter’s glory, the day the sun died. It all happened just a few months ago. At first everyone just stood back and tried to understand why but couldn’t. Soon riots broke out, people began to doubt their faiths and beliefs wondering what would happen next. The trees and plants died and oxygen began to vanish. Many cities constructed domes to capture the remaining air and keep what little oxygen we had left safe.

Strange men dressed in black began to roam the streets searching for something that couldn’t be found. They are mysterious in their nature and perhaps only a rumor. It is said they appear before those with only doubt in their hearts and speak in strange tongues. Their numbers are numerous and their purpose uncertain. Some call these folk ‘The Others’.

And then there’s where I come in, just an average boy of seventeen years of age. I tried my hardest not to let it get to me, but the sun was gone and there was nothing I could do. I often thought to myself this day would never happen in my lifetime but boy was I wrong.

Rules/

One character per person.

You may only be human or one of The Others.

No mystical characters, fairies, made up creatures, demons, or anything else you can think up off the top of your head.

No net speak, spell out your words. Use quotes for speech, italics for thoughts, parenthesis for out of character speak, and other text for actions and what not.

Do not change your text color, you may use bold, don’t make your text too small to read or two big where it’s ridiculous.

Do not talk for other characters other than your own or NPC’s that you make up to go along with your main.

You must pm me all profiles and if you are accepted then you may post. Do not post before I accept your profile.

No God modding, no auto hitting.

No killing off characters that are not your own unless you get permission from the other person and from me.

Do not simply write one line and then hit post, please take your time and spell everything correctly as well as try to write a decent amount of text before pushing that post button.

Violence is encouraged but try to keep it within Gaia’s TOC.

Romance is okay but keep it brief.

Title your pm to me “I need a night light.”

Play nice and have fun.

Gaia username: Demidom

Character name: Johnny Trine

Race: Human

Age: Seventeen

From: A small town just outside of a major city that was once a flourishing trade town.

Weapon(s): None

Appearance: Johnny is an average Caucasian boy, tall for his age, skinny but not to the point of looking starved or under weight. His hair is a dark shade of brown, along with his eyes. He wears a zip up fur lined jacket, black fingerless gloves, black jeans, and a gray furry hat. He has no scars on his body or tattoos for that matter. Both of his ears are pierced with simple small loop ear rings and also wears a silver necklace with a skull and cross bone pendant.

Bio: One of the first and many to witness the Sun in its final arc. Johnny rushed home as the sky began to get blacker and blacker becoming lost in the dark. He tripped and fell over a rock and landed face down in the dirt. He braced himself with his left arm and pulled himself up off the ground. He was lost out in the middle of nowhere. All of a sudden a bright light appeared before him along with a loud screech of moving tires. It was a passing car that had gone out of control, just stopping inches before colliding with the boy.

The stranger got out of the car looking at him and they both looked back at what was once the Earths brightest star. The Sun was gone and there was no reason or explanation to it’s disappearance. Johnny didn’t know what to do or what to say, only starring at the skyline wondering what would happen next and how he would get home. Tears streamed from his eyes as the thought that mankind could soon be extinct. From that day forward he knew his mission, his personal goal in life, to find out what happened to the sun and take revenge on the ones who took it away.

Other: Nothing to put here at the moment.

It was noon, or at least that’s what the cell phone said. It was pitch black as usual, the small city street lit with artificial light, however it was still very dark out. It was strange only a couple of months ago there would be a blinding ball of light in the sky, now only darkness. The young adult moved his hand up slowly scratching his head letting out a soft yawn. His eyes lingered around a small gathering just up the street from where he currently stood. He moved slowly, legs extending forward, towards the group of people before him.

A man in a dark robe passed by, watching from the shadows, unseen by the general public and unnoticed by those around this person. The boy looked around feeling watched but not knowing where the eyes that fell upon him rested. Walking closer to the gathering he perked up his ears trying to stay distant and yet eavesdrop at the same time. Gazing ahead of him he looked around hoping to gain some insight on the situation.

“Something is not right, we must take action.” Spoke a man from the crowd.

“Yes but at what extent. There is nothing we can do, our light is gone is so is this planet. We are doomed, doomed I say.” Spoke another.

The rest of the conversation became muffled as he thought to himself. His mind wandered to that cold evening when he was almost killed. Emotions and rage filled his heart. He fell to the ground trying to gasp for air. It was a traumatic event for him, even months later, it was all he could think about and often times he wondered if what happened is real or just an illusion put there to make you squirm.

Why did this happen, why am I still alive, what is really going on here?

His eyes opened when he noticed a hand touch his. He stood back up not seeing who had helped him up or where he was now. All he knew is that he’d be better off not knowing.

Relax Johnny, it’s okay.

He stood up and brushed some dirt off his pants looking around to see if he could recognize the one who helped him up but was unable to do so. Johnny looked over at the crowd but realized this was common around these parts. Many street corners became the social office water cooler. Many had ideas as to what happened to the Sun that strange evening. Some say it was Gods way of punishing us for all our countless sins. Others say someone caused it to happen, that it was staged and more natural disasters of this proportion would happen soon. It wasn’t clear on who or why it happened only guesses remained.

Slowly zipping up his fur lined coat Johnny slowly walked past the crowd and further into the dimly lit walkways reaching into his pocket. He pulled out a small booklet, peering across its pages, only looking up every few seconds to make sure he wasn’t walking into a building or person as he journeyed further away from the small sea of people he had just encountered. Not knowing what to do or where to go he stumbled forwards nearly tripping on a curb as he headed towards his destination at the moment.
