Despite the fact that the female had transitioned into a more confident and strong character, Loveless found herself idly walking in a deep state of thought. Things were going well with both her family and her relationships, but when she had a moment alone, her mind soared into a state of contemplation. Her father had warned her to be careful while walking around at night, since she was casted out as an attackable Kalona now. Ariston had told her that other Kalonas were too afraid to attack him for some reason, but that could surely go after her. Loveless would not allow their words to affect her, since she was tough enough herself. She had plenty of fights in her youth to show her that she too could kick some a** if needed. But still.. her comrades from before were now nothing but enemies. It was funny how that worked, but looking back, they were never actually her comrades, since they could care less about her well being. "This was the right decision.." she then mumbled to herself once again. It was hard to get over.. and she found herself pondering these things over and over again while being alone.
She was a lessor now.. but it didn't phase her at all. This was a state of happiness that she was finally able to achieve by herself, and the months by herself as a 'real' Kalona were hellish enough. Plus there was Antony now.. who had also sprung some strange circumstances on her. But they were good.. and they made her happy.
Sighing to herself, Loveless stopped at a small clearing before glancing at the newly formed stars. The sky was peaceful.. and the female tried to allow herself some rest while she idly stood. She noticed the small creatures that she smelled from before had fled, probably because they noticed her Kalona stench approaching. Ah well, she would have to get used to being that in-between medium that her father was.
At least she was happy though... right?

The goings on of the outside world had rarely concerned the stallion, more often than not he would cast such things out as trivial. Or that was how it had been until recently - circumstances had led him to take an interest in what lay beyond. It was difficult to describe and while he struggled to comprehend the feelings that bubbled up within him he was given a much greater sense of purpose.
Ah yes...
The recent attack on the only mare he had been so inclined towards had shifted his attentions somewhat. While his loyalty remained towards his Grove, the reawakening of the true master of his territory had allowed him to increase his scope. All too aware of the current influx of Kalona and their somewhat...despicable ways, he was inclined more so than ever to increase his hold over his territory and to ensure that these wretched beasts remained completely subordinate to him.
They with their violent ways were nothing in the eyes of a stallion who had been so plagued by their existence his entire life. Ever mistaken for one of them (something he was not), he had been granted a rather foul series of names that had caused great suffering and great hatred on his part.
Yes, he had a darker side to him - one inherited by his father's blood and yet he refrained from releasing its true wrath. Such was his decision, or it had been his decision until that accursed little whelp had struck someone so vulnerable as his petite little mare. Well, she wasn't exactly his but the possessive streak within him saw it as such - it had served only to rekindle his dislike for the horrid beasts. It gave his darker side an excuse to get a little exercise too!
Thus, it was unsurprising that it took little encouragement for him to move away from the sanctity of his Grove. No sooner had the words of unsettled creatures reached his ears than the stallion had pulled himself to his hooves and was navigating his way through the thick undergrowth. For the most part the poor creatures were exhausted but given their size it was unsurprising - to them they had run miles, to him it wasn't quite so much...
That being said, the mention of a 'Kalona' had been enough to increase his pace and his blood was already boiling - the very idea of having that so close to his home was enough to infuriate him. Regardless of their current condition he would have them removed - permanently.
Flicking his whip like tail against his flank it wasn't long before he broke free of the borders of the forest and had come to a halt nearby. Lifting his head, his ears flicked at the slightest sound while amber eyes took the time to survey his immediate surroundings. At first he saw little, no sign of disturbance and it was only after a second look that he caught those wings and glowered.
Half a snarl escaped his lips at this and with the stealth of a feline predator he began to shift towards the mare, ears flat against his head. Nevertheless, he wasn't one who lacked in honour and would alert her to his presence before slamming her into a cliff face (it was only fitting).
But how to address her?
Ah yes...
"Get. Out." he snarled.

Her thoughts were soon interrupted, and she quickly turned her head to notice the stallion who had spoken. His voice jolted through her body, and she frowned before realizing he was NOT happy with her entire being. She had every right to be standing there.. especially since she posed no harm! She had promised Antony that she would contain herself.. and hold back her terrible anger. It was a promise that made her happier as well, and her mouth cringed before she flattened her ears and contained herself. Count slowly in her head.. count and release.. breathe in and then release. "And why should I leave? I request a reasoning." Loveless tried to keep her voice soft, and her pride was hurting terribly. ********. She couldn't even act in her OWN way. But this was better, and she needed to learn how to act more social to strangers who did not know her.
She couldn't tell what the stallion was.. was he a Kalona? He looked incredibly strong if anything, but Loveless would not back down so easily. She needed to know why the hell she was casted away, especially by a stranger who did it so naturally. What did she ever do? Hopefully she would find out.
...Was it because she was a lessor Kalona? The thought hadn't occurred to her, since she had never seen this stallion before. "If you wish to judge me by my beliefs, then so be it. If you are like all of them, wanting me dead for leaving the true clan of Kalona blood or whatever.. then so be it." She paused before shaking her head. "Ha, I was found quickly it seems." Her eyes were lowered, but she was counting in her head again, nice and slowly. She would not lash out or attack. She would be different and composed, since she was herself now. She didn't need to prove anything except that she was Loveless, so she slowly brought her eyes back on the stallion before slowing her breath.

"Do not mistake me for one of you forsaken and sadistic kin," It was rare that Azumoth was so hostile, and while his voice remained soft the tone was almost that of ice as he spoke. He wasn't so poor as to mimic a snake but a tone that was often stoic would have been rather unsettling now if overheard by those who knew him. Hostility and a lack of hospitality didn't quite cover how the stallion was acting now.
"Know only that you stand in lands that are not yours, mare." He might as well give her an answer, he had manners enough to do that regardless of how badly her scent caused his nostrils to flare. There really was no avoiding what she was, and her words seemed hollow and deceitful to one who had suffered so much on her kind's accounts. Her declaration of 'leaving' fell on deaf ears for the time being.
Kalona may leave their little clans but that did not mean she wasn't as devilish as the next.
"You are not welcome here, return to your dead lands and know your place," should she choose to disregard his comments there was little doubt that he would be unhappy, but instead of approaching he was going to do something relatively similar to her. Count to ten, breathe in, breathe out and not lose his temper just yet. This was easier said than done given how angry he already was and she hadn't even said anything!
Alas no, it was the memory of his petite mare and what her kind did for pleasure...
"Beasts of your type are neither natural or deserving of a place upon these slopes. Take your sadistic games and pleasures elsewhere."

Oh.. so it was BECAUSE she was a Kalona.
"This is most unexpected." Loveless then said, while straightening her shoulders. "I thought it was because I am a shamed Kalona. I may be a Kalona by blood, by my father's most splendid blood.. but I am far from what you speak." Her eyes were lowered again, and she realized that there was a complete misunderstanding going on. "I am aware that it would be hard to believe a Kalona, especially when you have your own feelings and thoughts. But I am not what you speak of, stallion." How could she prove she was truthful? Loveless looked at him with hopeful eyes, before realizing the stallion was stern in his words and hate. Damn. This was a sticky situation.
"I don't have a place anymore, since I am like everyone else. I know of what you speak of, but I assure you if I went there, I would be killed shortly after. I just.." she paused, feeling very uncomfortable suddenly. "I don't understand how I can explain what its like to be the complete opposite of what you speak of."
It felt good to at least be honest, and she closed her eyes before thinking of her father and Antony. What would they do in this situation? Antony got questioned all the time, and he was a half breed! She would have to consult him soon, and have a serious talk, rather then the silly ones they always had.

Well, what she was was unavoidable - it was also somewhat unfortunate that she now stood before a bitter cynic who would sooner rip her to pieces than accept any word that came from her mouth. However, the spirits favoured her for at least the time being as the lighter and more amicable side of his heritage came through - his mother, calm in temperament had always served as the softer side of him even if she hadn't existed in his life for many years.
It was that blood and the words of his adoptive mother (a raccoon) no less that made him stop and listen regardless of his disgust. It was one of those situations where the male just couldn't cast aside his prejudice - he heard her words but given his own history he was less inclined to believe her. Truth be told, he would have been more likely to believe a foal who declared that their parents had let them wander alone onto the slopes than he was prepared to listen to her explanation.
Nevertheless, there was something in the way she looked at him that made him arch a brow in suspicion.
She didn't know how to explain?
He bloody well did.
"Allow me to be of assistance then," he purred darkly, amber eyes narrowing as he listened to the almost hopeless words that left her mouth. "To look like a hellish beast in every way, to be berated, attacked and scorned for it is old news -" he began, his tone nothing more than a jeer as he adjusted his weight from one hoof to the other.
"To know you are different from your kin, to be determined to show it and yet you are never given the opportunity to do so. In the eyes of those around you, you are nothing more than an animal. A sadistic creature who takes pleasure in destruction and regardless of yours pleas...are deemed manipulative." He chuckled and shook his head, recalling all those feelings he endured daily. Oh he knew just what it was like to be placed into a category that he had never belonged to in the first place.
"You desire nothing more than to admire the beauty around you, to discuss trivial topics with potential friends and yet to them you are nothing. You are subservient and deserve little more than to wallow in a ditch until you die. Regardless of what you say - you are a demon, a murderer and nothing can change that."
"Am I close...or would you prefer more?" He snarled darkly.

The stallion's words hurt. Loveless was happy knowing that she WASN'T like that, but the stallions bluntness and truth brought about an emotional reaction to the reality of Kalonas. "No.. that's not me. But I agree with you, that that is how other Kalonas act." With lowered eyes, she shuffled her feet for a moment while taking in the reality of her past. "Spending time with one's father and friends really doesn't fit in there I see.. so I'm telling you, my birth and breed has nothing to do with my social standards. If anything, they have made me against it." She let a breath of air out of her nose, and quickly brought her eyes back on the stallion. "Aren't you the same way? I maybe have this tail and these wings.. but my horns are completely from my father, and I have always been casted out because they look different." Different.. was beautiful though. Her father was gorgeous, and she loved carrying a trait of his.
Oh well. Maybe the stallion would never believe her, and in that case..
"If you truly don't believe me, then I will leave. I have tried my bes to explain what I can.. but its not showing in your reaction. Some will never change their opinions or thoughts, even when faced with a strange situation. I understand that, so I will kindly abide if needed." With a quick nod, Loveless sighed before flipping her bangs out of her eyes. At least she was proud of herself for representing her feelings so well, since usually she was terrible at discussion.
'This was sure to happen..' was all her mind told her, and she nodded to herself before bringing her eyes back on the stallion.

Ah he had always been sinfully blunt and it was with an almost sadistic pleasure that he saw the mare shift uncomfortably at his words. Apparently he had struck a nerve and while this was a rather bizarre twist to the proceedings (in terms of her reaction), the pleasure derived from the ability to inflict genuine discomfort upon something so horrid as what she was. Without lifting his hoof, slashing with a wing, or even so much as a flick on his tail he had struck a blow quite unlike any other.
Ah, he couldn't help but feel a little better. He was fairly certain this wasn't the beats who had harmed his little mare but the verbal attack had been enough to quell his fury for a little while longer. It was unfortunate that Loveless had found herself in hostile territory - generally speaking it was hostile regardless of species but she was unlucky. Personal grudges were often much worse than general irritation towards an intruder.
Oddly, this mare appeared to know her place and as she shifted uncomfortably under his scrutiny and rather personal words he couldn't help but raise a brow. A kalona who denied her own heritage in favour of friends and family? Ah, if only he had met the mare previously before her changes had occured, he would have probably deemed her change of heart to be absolutely hilarious or better yet...a complete and utter lie. Alas, the spirits favoured her in this and he hadn't known her in her more 'severe' and violent years.
"Do not liken me to your kind," his snapped at last, evidently disgruntled by the very idea that he would once again be thrust into such a category. "I am not beastial, nor do I revel in in your kinds godforsaken rituals. I may have horns but that means nothing." With a slight snort, he recovered his composure and could only raise a brow higher as she continued to talk. It was almost as if the mare was completely oblivious to the customs and protocol around her.
She claimed respect...and yet she was on his land.
Well, sort of.
"If you are so inclined to leave then why did you disregard protocol and enter my lands in the first place? With your kind's obvious intelligence and superior abilities one might think you already knew what lay within these reaches," he spat. He didn't intend to be deliberately rude but he just couldn't help it in the given situation.

"How was I supposed to know these lands are yours? I don't focus on that sort of thing." she snorted, feeling frustrated by this conversation. "Didn't I just explain that I don't slink around territories and claim whatever I see? I just wander, as does everyone else. If this land means THAT much to you, I'll leave, since I really don't care. There is no reason for me to put up with this kind of treatment, when I don't even know you, or care if you do not wish to listen or believe me." Well, of course Loveless DID care that she was totally being casted aside, but she needed to stick up for herself dammit! It was really bothering her that she continually looked weak in front of this stallion.
Well whatever. She had said as much as she could say. She was only letting herself become more emotional since her mind was already flustered with thoughts.
She then turned her body and started to walk slowly in the opposite direction, showing the stallion that she WAS leaving. Isn't that what he wanted? Well.. she wasn't doing it completely cause he wanted it, but she was doing it for herself, since getting ridiculed was only making her more pissed off. The mare already felt better once she knew she wasn't staring at the stallion anymore, and her body relaxed as her legs stretched out with each other.
The stallion was probably laughing at this point, but Loveless would ignore it and move on.

"The sight, the smells and the creatures of these lands should have been a give-away," The stallion snapped in response to her accusations that he was territorial. Every soquili, especially on the slopes could be rather territorial in their own way. They claimed various chunks of land and hell - some would have even chased the bloody mare off before she'd even so much as opened her mouth!
Nevertheless, as she turned her back on him and left herself rather exposed to attack he couldn't help but smirk in a rather uncouth fashion. Ah, to launch an assault on her just to make her feel as his petite mare had - to puncture and rip despite the screams for mercy. Urgh, it was enough to sicken him - the very fact that his rather questionable side had the opportunity to be that vulgar and to express those types of desires.
"You know, Kalona always struck me fore being such good liars," Azumoth purred after a few moments, keeping his distance as he watched the mare. She wasn't moving at any sort of rapid speed and thus he didn't have to raise his voice a great deal. "So why is it now, when you declare that you care not for the words I speak...that you raise your voice and pout like a filly?"
Really he was intrigued, he was unable to get passed what she was but her lack of manipulative tendencies and her apparent inability to hide her emotions really was something different entirely. One might say that this little feature alone completely defied all stereotype!

His words sent a bolt down Loveless' spine, and she cringed her teeth before stopping herself suddenly. "I hope you are enjoying yourself, stallion." she then beckoned, while twisting her slanting expression back at him. "Has this made your day? Do you feel like the better creature out of us? Well good. I am glad you have entertained yourself, but I am certainly NOT going to waste my time talking to a block of stone." Hmph! He really was such a jerk!
No matter his past, Loveless was not the one judging here, and that was new for her. And yet.. here he was, throwing all of these facts about Kalonas, when here he was, being the judgmental one to her! "You are a big contradiction, you know that? You can say what you want about Kalonas, but DON'T think you know a damn thing about me. So take my pouting and shove it up your butt!"
Once again, she turned her back to the stallion, but this time she stomped off in a much quicker pace, hoping to get the hell outta there before she got too angry.
He had really pushed too many emotional buttons for her, and he just didn't understand her at all! "Whatever." she then mumbled to herself, while cooling down. "Not worth my time, not worth my time.." She kept opening and closing her eyes, in hopes of calming herself.

"I would love to accommodate your suggestion but I cannot reach my own backside." Azumoth replied coolly, his expression one of complete innocence as he watched the mare in her attempt to storm off. Really, in some warped way it was terribly entertaining. Flicking his whip like tail against his flank he was more than happy to trail after her at a more relaxed pace while keeping her within his line of sight.
There was something very different about this one, she wasn't lying when she said she wasn't like others. In fact, he obsession with trying to avoid conflict while others would have launched an assault made it all the more amusing. He just couldn't help himself, this was the first time that he was the one that wasn't getting provoked!
"Nor am I inclined to such unusual forms of pleasure," ah, he wouldn't dare say this to anything other than a Kalona but his expression remained unchanging as he drifted at the same pace. Strides sultry, he was more relaxed than usual despite the absence of the close embrace of his forest. "That being said I always thought Kalona had some form of fighting spirit, I assume this means you have none..."

Loveless' forehead was shaking at the words of the stallion, though she kept herself moving, and she kept her face away from him. Goodness.. her hiding her expression was harder then she thought..
In an instant, she swung her face back around and frowned at the male. "Why would I use my fighting spirit on you? I am trying to treat you as just a stallion. I am not sitting here judging anything about you, EXCEPT the fact that you are being an a*****e." Was it that hard for him to realize? "Why are you even following me if I don't meet up to your 'par' of character? Haven't you proved enough to yourself, and me?" She stopped her movement, and only stared, expecting some kind of worthy answer. He would most likely continue to make fun of her, and she was prepared for that.

Ah, there was that disgruntled fighting spirit that he had spoken of not minutes ago. As he expected, the kalona had very little restraint on her temper and thus she couldn't hide her anger for an extended period of time. In all honesty, it simply served as more entertainment as she shot out the most predictable insults she could mustre. It wasn't as if he hadn't heard them before - he frequently heard them, such was his way of handling nearly everything that approached him.
Ah - to have an inferiority complex...It made things ever so complicated. As 'beastial' as he was, regardless of how many argued to the contrary he frequently belittleed and jeered at anything that tried to be even remotely reasonable. Pleas were ignored, tears were deemed a mark of success and when the soquili finally distanced themselves and never returned he considered himself satisfied.
Or this is how it had been for a time, recently things had been a little turned around.
"You fail to realise I am not 'just' a stallion," he seemed to mull over her words, coming to a halt to maintain distance between himself and her. He wasn't afraid of her, so much as he respected boundaries (despite his unusual way of showing it right now). "As to why I follow you - I need to make sure you get off my land and that you do not return." A sly smirk crossed his features and he ruffled his leathery wings against his sides to generate further heat.
"More to the point I have proved nothing, I never sought to in the first place."

"Oh I assure you, stallion." She then said, with her usual sharp voice, since he was so specific on the word stallion. "I am well on my way out. Though I seem to have a pest behind me who keeps distracting me!" Turning herself back around, she kept on walking, and she felt her blood boiling at this point. "Well if anything, I am glad I am not meeting any of your expectations. If that were the case, I think I would kill myself for the sake of having to talk to you longer."
She was in a thought, and her mouth curved as she walked on forward. "You must be one of those stallions that no one likes, that's why you pick on who you can get. I happen to have others who actually enjoy me for who I am, and the wonderful things I do." Heh, and thank goodness for that! If she was still alone, she would have probably gone crazy at this point in her life. "They accepted me for my mistakes, and that's clearly something you could never do."
She had said what she had needed to say, and Loveless then kept walking, while enjoying a small lingering silence between them. All she wanted was to be out of his territory and free, and she was hoping that would be SOON.
