And I was wondering of any good brands. I'm still sort of a beginner and have an acoustic already. I'm getting a new amp as well, so any ideas?

What kind of music are you looking to play, and what's your price range?

I'm not sure what kind of music to play. I just want something good. I've been playing my acoustic, I have a Greg Bennette(sp?) and I don't really know that brand. I'm looking for a brand that is known well. And about the price, I'm not completly sure... but that's what usually gets me. sweatdrop

ESP LTD F-50 Fender Stratocaster Fender Telecaster Gibson Les Paul
And if you're not that experienced: Epiphone Les Paul (an OK guitar. Needless to say, it's not as good as the Gibson) Ibanez GAX series (nice intermediate allaround guitars; not too expensive) Squier models (if you're really beginning electric guitar and want something cheap and not too fancy)

well, I like Jackson really well.
also Dean is great, and Gibson has always been one of my favorites.
BUT whatever you do, don't get a signature series, I made that mistake when I first started, those things are cheap as hell.

I highly suggest a Fender or Ibanez Gibson is good too, but if you can't afford it and still want a decent model, shoot for Epiphone

my favorite brands are gibson, schecter, and fender. if you're worried about price, i'd probably go with fender or epiphone (which is an off-brand of gibson).
