Malice soared above the land feeling content with her busy morning. Her stomach was full and plump, and her mouth still held the taste of blood. She loved when she awoke hungry, for that meant she could entertain herself with an extravagant hunt. Just like for this morning, rather then going for a young bear cub that she found, she decided to go for the mother, since it was more violent. In the end, she left with many scratches and bruises, but the pain was well worth it. The child was then killed soon after.. just because.
Now that she was overly stuffed she was working her body with a quick flight, since it was good for her to move after eating so much. The wind was much colder today, and her wings were shivering every now and then from the frosty air. Malice wasn't sure how she felt about the changing weather, but the snow meant that meals would be more apparent on the ground, and that was good for her!
Shaking away her random thoughts, Malice then landed herself at a silent clearing after feeling satisfied at her flight. If any animals were around, they were long gone at her sighting. Even if something was dumb enough to approach her, she would happily kill it just for the hell of it. It had been awhile since she had seen anyone in her family, or let alone another Kalona, and that confused the mare. The silence around her brought back some memories of her family, but a strong wind quickly brought her out of that state.
It made her wonder if she was hiding too much or something.. or if she was unapproachable. Either way, the mare flicked her mane and trudged forward, since she was cold at the frosty air.

Time was a concept Toku had long forgotten, he saw the sun rise, he saw it set. He killed in the morning, he killed again in the night, he ate after each kill. Many times this pattern was repeated in lone silence as he had long since left behind the heard. Faintly he remembered Maeryn and Rot, the other two Kalona. Neither of which he really cared about any more.
This morning was a quiet frost filled one, the small deer's corpse still lay not to far from him. He never bothered to seek out stronger prey, he simply killed what he found regardless of what it was. So now he simply sat watching the sun slowly shift in the sky.
Something was off though, someone was coming, and it wasn't a small someone either. He snorted quietly flicking his tail and wings in annoyance, he was in no mood to deal with others.

With a snort, Malice quickly noticed the unfamiliar smell, and she narrowed her eyes to try and focus in on what was around her. How could she not smell it before? It seemed she was walking into another's territory.. especially since.. the creature wasn't moving. With a toss of her bangs, Malice continued forward until she finally saw the brown Kalona in front of her. Ah, so it WAS a Kalona? No wonder it wasn't budging or fleeing, and she curved a grin while standing still in the distance. She was carefully watching the brown figure, until finally realizing it was a male. Pft.. male. She wondered if he would attack or not.
It seemed the Kalona was aware of her presence, but he wasn't acting phased or surprised. He was acting normally in Malice's opinion, and the mare decided to creep a bit closer, but still leave a large amount of distance between them. She wouldn't want her space to be intruded if it were her, so she was respectful of the male's grounds.
"Good day.." she then said, while slanting her eyes. "It seems you had a nice morning." She eyed the corpse that lay next to the brown Kalona, and continued to grin in a comfortable manner.

The mares scent slowly drifted towards him, he hardly cared though, the last mare he recalled seeing had earned a swift hove to the side for acting so foolish around him. It was also around that time he left the heard, always being scolded it seemed, so why bother staying?
He finally turned his head to watch as Malice made her way into the small clearing. His eyes narrowed, not just out of irritation, but because he was now in thought. The broken heart, the way her coat seemed to shine like diamonds when the light hit it right. It was if Rot and Maeryn had given birth to the mare.
He followed her gaze to the corpse not responding, simply giving a snort and flaring his wings again. It had been so long since he had seen another of his kind, or any one for that matter.

His silence proved a few things to the mare. He wasn't necessarily angry that Malice had arrived, and he probably wasn't going to attack or anything. He instead was very calm, and this was a surprise to Malice. This left the mare open with many possibilities on what to say or do, so she moved herself a bit closer by casually walking around the area. "Heh, quiet I see." Her movements were slow but noticeable, since she was acting partially relaxed.
"You can ignore me if you'd like, but I happen to enjoy another Kalonas company when I am graced with the opportunity. It has been awhile for me so I may be stubborn to just leave." Glancing back towards the stallion, she held a frisky grin before finally stopping herself at a comfortable distance. She once again left lots of room, but it wasn't as awkward this time.
Once Malice was satisfied with her footing, she coiled her tail around and moved it back and forth while she was watching the male. He was such an interesting shade of brown, and it was very close to her own color. "So, what'll be?"

Toku ruffled again, slowly standing to turn and get a better look at the mare. Kicking the frost with his front hove he continued to watch listening to her as she came slightly closer which caused his wings to stretch and flare.
"Rot..." it was the first word he had spoken in the longest time, "...Maeryn" and then the second. She really did look similar to both of them. Perhaps she was indeed their child? "Daughter?" His voice was rough, harsh, and quiet.

Goodness.. his words were short, but they were very specific! At least they were making some progress together. "Why yes, those are my parents. Do you know them?" Now that the male was standing, Malice realized how big he was compared to her. His bones and muscles were strong looking, and she was obviously in a different generation league from his size. From the stallion's expression, he must have noticed the marking on her body, which was the same one that her mother carried. Malice felt blessed in knowing she was the only daughter who held the exact mark as her mother, especially since her mother was a very important Kalona female.
"What is your name, stallion?" She kept her voice soft, which was usually difficult because it felt unnatural. There was no reason to be rude to this Kalona, especially since he had spoken of her parents. He himself was remaining calm, so Malice decided to put in her own effort.

"Used to know them." He muttered as he started to make his way forward towards her. Each step made a small crunch as his hove broke the frost covered ground, casually stepping over the dead deer as he made his way closer.
"Toku." Short and simple still, by now he stood almost a tails length from her, the marking more clear then ever, the marks on her coat as well. On one hand it was interesting to speak to some one again, then again he felt pissed. Here before him stood the daughter of the two Kalona who kept him in the heard, yet also ticked him off quiet a bit. He wondered if Malice was the first one born, during the time when Maeryn had been rather bitchy during that whole pregnancy ordeal.
"Why are you here..."

Hm. "Well I'm Malice." She then said, while getting a better look at the male. She was surprised that Toku had made his way over since he looked so comfortable before. He didn't seem like the type to casually walk over. His question then humored Malice a bit, since there really wasn't a specific reason. "And I am only hear out of curiosity. I see and notice another Kalona, so I decided to walk over. That is all." With a curved grin, she moved her wings into a more comfortable position before putting her focus back on the male.
"So.. you used to know my parents? Does that signify that something bad happened?" Maybe it wasn't her place to ask, but Malice wasn't afraid to be blunt when needed. But still.. the stallion didn't seem angry when he stated such, so Malice was wondering if it was just the way Toku talked.
"Do you have any family yourself?" Maybe she knew a sibling of Toku.. or maybe she didn't. It was worth a try to ask.

The name was unknown to him, he couldn't recall if he was around when the child was born of Rot and Maeryn. "You come into my territory, no one does that..." He snorted stomping his hove in irritation, the first sign of anger with Malice's arrival. "Your either stupid, or brave..."
He finally stopped pacing standing before the other Kalona nodding slightly, "We all were a heard. Small heard. Rot and I, never saw eye to eye." He snorted again, "Your mother... last I recall was with child who would b***h and snap at any little thing..."
"My family is dead, I grew up alone. No relatives that I know, and no children." He scoffed, "Why would I want to bother with that any way?"

"I could never admit to being stupid.." Malice then said, while walking a few steps herself. "Brave maybe.. but I don't know, I find myself confident. Yes, that is a better word." She gave the stallion a stare before adding another grin to her face. She was confident, but she wasn't obnoxious about it. She was cocky in her own way, knowing her abilities and strengths very well.
"Ah yes, I have heard tales of that past and herd. Unfortunately, the child you speak of is probably the first batch of breeding. I actually have three other sisters, and four brothers." With a grin, she felt pride in knowing she had such an impressive and humongous family. "My parents have started a great lineage of Kalonas, so that is probably why I am so new to you." She was the last batch of babies, which was always humorous to her.
"Bother with family? Its not an entirely bad thing you know.. I just happen to enjoy mine because it isn't full of sappy bullshit that I watch other lessers deal with." Malice scoffed slightly, before bringing her eyes back on Toku. "I can't stand the way other families act, believing in love and romance. I was bred for a purpose, and I am happy to fulfill my parents dream."

Toku chuckled quietly, "Confident? That sounds decent enough." She had an air of confidince indeed, it reminded him quit a bit of Rot, he always did seem to have a bit of air about him.
"First batch? Those two have been rather... busy." He snorted and paced about. "Rather big family indeed..." He saw no point in the reason to brag in a family size, numbers did not make a difference, it was what each number was, the runt would always be a runt.
"You were bred as a number, a piece of a set, I see no honor in that so you can claim your heritage, so what? What worth is that if your nothing more then a worthless mare in the end?"

Malice stopped her breath while she cringed at the stallions words. Her ears bent backwards instantly after Toku stopped talking, and her grin quickly subsided into a frown. "Oh.." Oh was right. The stallion had suddenly shifted everything, and Malice was NOT happy about it. Who did he think he was?! "I was certainly NOT bred as a number, Toku. I can see where you got that idea, but it just so happens that there are eight of us. My mother is proud to have all of us for who we are."
With a snort, Malice lashed her tail against the ground before glaring at the male. "Worthless mare? And to what grounds do you have to support that claim, stallion?" Her voice was becoming stiffer, and her mind was suddenly flustered and angry. Her temper was easily shifted, and she would happily change herself if needed be. "I don't care what your standards of honor entail, but I will not allow for your ignorance on who and what I am."

It seemed he had struck a cord inside her, perhaps he struck truth? It didn't matter much to him though. "Then what is your purpose then? Tell me what you bring to your parents to make them proud to say you were their off spring, you say you have eight siblings but who is favored most?"
His own tail lashed and he let out a snort of his own. "I have no grounds other then that of which you have not proven a thing to me." He was talking calmly evenly, in a cold manner. "What is your purpose Malice? Are you just another number to their herd like I was? To simply exist, I gained nothing at their side, what do you gain and give to them in turn!"
