Okay I'm playing X (again) and I keep wondering about a few things. First, How does the water stay in the invisible sphere for bb? Then how do players get in there without letting water out? Then how do those little things that float in the center for the players to kneel on get there?
I know it's a game and it's amazing but it makes my head hurt thinking about it.

I've always wondered the exact same things. xd I think, though, that at some point in the game they either say or strongly imply that they hold their breath when they play.
Either way, I'd still kill to be able to play it irl.

lol maybe that's it, and with the breathings under water, if you talk to the Aurochs when you first meet them they talk about how some of the best blitz players can sleep under water and hold their breath for hours. So I don't think they breathe under water, just train themselves to hold their breaths for as long as they can.

I'm pretty sure it's water. If you watch "The Eternal Calm" the movie that links FFX and FFX-2, Yuna goes on to say how she's training to hold her breath underwater like the pros in Blitzball do.

I haven't seen that series since I was a little kid.. I barely remember it. I'll have to ask my roommate if he has it.
But thanks for explaining, I do get the joke now. ^_^

Yeah, they can just hold their breath for a long time. As for the sphere, in Zanarkand, it looks like some futuristic electromagnetic something that keeps the water there, but in Luca, you can see a huge glass-looking dome being filled with water. So in Zanarkand, as you can see n the opening movie, the players can just shoot out of the water, but I've been wondering how they do it in Spira, too. I have no idea what those little things are that you're talking about, sorry.

You're right about the differences in Luca and Zanarkand...
My only guess would be that...that was a dream Zanarkand...things just work differently?
I dunno! ^_^

I think that they use "rebreathers" like in bond movies cuz when you are with the Al Bed on the salvage ship brother hands you a devise before you dive.
