Time had been a double-edged sword for his mental state. On one hand, the constant whisperings of the shadows within his own mind would be enough to drag any sane dustling of the deep end. However with time also came acceptance. The ability to understand that the voices were all in his head and posed him only as much harm as he let them. It also allowed him to devise ways to distract himself from the continuous onslaught of nonesense whirling around in his mind. One such way was company.
With a house full of beautiful females and little to no male leadership, that wasn't usually a problem. The more he played around though, the more he realized that the females weren't to keen on sharing. This of course was his fault, and lead to nearly every living creature in that house nagging him about it. He wasn't surprised when the female dusts began to bug him, but when others began to come up to him and blaim him for 'unsettling' the house and causing a fuss he realized it was about time to fall back and lay low for awhile.
At the time he figured that the voices in his head were the lesser of two evils and he soon found himself sitting at the oasis, alone.
He wouldn't make that mistake ever again.
Zenith was currently sprawled out at the water's edge on his stomache, wings fanned out beside him laying on the cool sand. His hind legs were curled up beneath him for warmth and his head lay out hovering just above the water's surface with his claws grasping at his skull lightly.
"Out out out..." Were the only audible words from his mouth, and they seemed to repeat over and over, the beginnings of a growl blossoming low in his throat.

Beautiful Astrid. As she glided across the darkened sky, her brightly colored body parts glowed against the soft moonlight. She was like a beautiful butterfly fluttering across the sky, only she didn't flutter nearly as frequently as butterflies did. Or maybe she was more like patches of stardust in the sky. Perhaps the latter of the two metaphors fit her better. Jewel-like green eyes glanced down occationally as she glinded across the sky. Being small had its advantages, it made for easier glinding than large, heavy things. The current could carry her through easier than if she were a large, fatty thing. From so high above, the dustling down on the ground seemed rather small. Maybe about her size. It was also hard to make out any signifigant features he carried such as those large, webbed wings, those sharp, point teeth, etc. If she knew, she wouldn't have started to make her landing for some company. The size difference would be terrifying to anyone her size...if they were normal.

Zenith, while rather imposing with his size and horns...and fangs...and claws, was rather docile for demon. Aside from his random bursts of insanity which happened on rare occasion, he was for the most part normal. As normal as one could be when they heard voices, but even that he bore and hid quite well usually. Tonight....well tonight wasn't normal.
While the prime example of a good distraction was someone he could openly converse with, noises could suffice if needed. So of course when he'd decided to 'lay low' for awhile he picked a place that was nearly dead silent. Another notch on his belt for things he shouldn't do.
Had he seen the faint glimmer of blue in the sky he might've attempted to compose himself a little. Possibly make himself less threatening upon realizing that the nearing creature was 'oh so tiny', and would probably be scared stiff at the sight of him. But a sudden increase in whispers sent a jolt of pain through his skull and he winced, eyes remaining closed as he tried to will away the voices, a daunting task without something else to focus on.
So there he lie, sprawled out and completely defenseless to any other creature that might pass by. Not that anything would attack a full grown male demon, incapacitated or not.
Scratch that, simply being himself seemed to be an appropriate enough defense around here.

As she approached the darkened figure, the shadow of him started to grow. It grew rather...large, actually. At least twice her size, she imagined. With those horns and pointed tail, she could immediately point out he was a male demon. He was very like Legion, albeit a little less attractive than him, but still rather similar in image. With a set of different colors, he might even look like the egotistical b*****d.
She was used to their towering size. It was normal for her now. But he seemed a bit troubled as he laid there...with his limbs sprawled out openly in the middle of the desert. Even if no creature with even a bit of self-preservation would attack a grown male demon in their right state of mind, it was still rather...interesting to see.
"Um, hello?" She called out faintly. The hybrid didn't want to feel as if she were disturbing him. He almost seemed immersed in a strange ritual of sorts. Whatever floated their boats.

Zenith was unable to sense the approached of the smaller creature, and was still wallowing in his own mind when she finally spoke. Her voice was faint much like the voices in his head, yet different all together. It took him awhile to sort through all the voices and determine that this one was not one of his usual torturers. When that much became apparent he locked down on the one voice, roughly shoving the rest of them to the back of his mind.
He took a moment before acknowledging the other creature. His claws fell from his head and he winced slightly, his claws digging into the sand as anchor until the throbbing headache dulled. His head rose a bit as he stared out infront of the swaying world infront of him. That was defintely not right. Closing his eyes he called out to the creature behind him, choosing not to move his head less the world decided it wanted to spin instead of just sway.
"Who's there?" His voice was faint even to his own ears, and had he felt more up to it he would've cursed himself for probably appearing weak, but he had other things on his mind. His tail swished out behind slowly, maybe as an attempt to bump into whatever was there and give him an idea of just what he was dealing with.

Her smooth dark tail swayed lightly as she waited patiently for his response. He seemed relatively troubled when his claws sank deep into the sand. It was as if he was clawing into the sand to hold on. He acted as if a giant tornado was about to come his way with the way his claws dug into the sand. Maybe he was imaging unpleasant things for whatever reason.
The voice was faint she barely heard it. At first she thought it may have been a figment of her imagination. Not quite. "I'm here," she answered. How else was she supposed to answer? It seemed a logical answer, and she was satisfied with it. She wasn't about to introduce herself to some weird stranger.

As he waited for a response his head seemed to bobble forward a bit before he caught himself and straightened out again. All it took was hearing those two words from the hybrid before he relaxed. So there really was someone there. The voices inside his head were never polite enough to respond, they simply rambled on and on.
With this new development he managed to push himself and get his front legs stable under him to sit correctly, his wings still hanging limply at his sides. All he needed to do was keep whoever it was here long enough to clear his head. A task that could prove easier said then done. He'd realized earlier on in life that not many creature could believe that all a demon wanted was to talk, without an ulterior motive. Pretty sad.
With minimal movement he managed to tilt his head up to glance at the sky. "It's a beautiful night isn't it?" He spoke lightly again. He didn't chance another headache or dizzy spell by turning his head, otherwise he might've taken noticed to the the female behind him.

She knew others usually had an ulterior motive when speaking to another being. Either it was to vent their problems or just because that person was lonely. Most often she didn't mind their ulterior motives, but she didn't care too much for them either. She was on neutral grounds on that sort of thing. If the other wanted her to speak, she would. There wasn't much else to do in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere anyway.
"It is," She replied simply. There wasn't much else to say about that. She wasn't a very talkative being in the first place. Plus the demon seemed to be struggling at something, she figured it best to keep conversation to a minimum.
