Manirak was as happy as could be - letting his paws carry them wherever they wanted, tong lolling out the side of his open mouth, and eyes wide and excited. as usual, the brightly colored pup's tail was wagging with a happiness that never seemed to leave the pup. Manirak was an all around happy-go-lucky dog.
'Wonder if I can make any new friends today?' He thought to himself, adding a little bounce to his step.
You could never have too many friends! that was his motto.

Black fur was cascading down the side of the hill as the newly adult male raced the wind and fought to free himself of the driving snow. He truly just wanted to get back to his shelter, as the wind was picking up, even if only slightly.
Tonrar was many things, but able to withstand large amounts of wind was not one of the things he had ever achieved.
It hurt his eyes and nose, and he wouldnt seriously put himself through that.
His paws carried him far, as he came to rest in a small area of wooded lands that were adjacent to the water.
Taking a few laps from the crystal, even though it remained throughly cold on his tongue, he sighed.
It could be worse.

Manirak's little jaunt soon brought him to the same lack as the ebony adult. And the pup, with no fear what-so-ever of any stranger, waltzed right up to him.
"Woah, hiya! Name's Manirak. What 'cha doin' 'round these parts?" Manirak sat down with a lopsided grin on his face, and tail still wagging.

And of course someone ALWAYS had to prove him right. Here was worse. Looking over at the small pup, he shook his head. Why did creatures migrate towards him so happily?
Surely he wasnt that entertaining.. And if you asked his family, they'd tell you the same. He was the same ol' stick in the mud he ha dbeen when he was born.. So why did the dogs always follow him?
His own body now out from the cold, he looked at the pup again, raising an eyebrow and casting a glance back from where the pup had come.
"Can I help you?"

"Nope!" the pup piped.
Boy, did this guy have a personality,...not! Oh well. Mani had more than enough to share.
"So, where ya from, huh? Maaaan, It's really snowin' over them hills, ain't it? Wouldn't wanna be caught out it it! But, maaan, you're a big dog. Must not be to bad for you, huh?"
he bounced about hyperly, as his mouth seemed to go almost non-stop.

The voice of the young pup stopped him and made him shake his head again.
"Yes, it has been snowing alot in the hills indeed." He said, trying to find more patience with the pup, seeing as he was only just a pup. He had run from the hills because of the driving snow and wind. But maybe the pup didnt understand that.
Normally, he would have offered his name.. But not this time. He didnt know that he wanted the pup knowing his name. That would put them on a friendly note, and he wasnt a friendly dog.
"Im from the hills."

"Wow, really! I thought your furr just had those cool white splotches! I guess it really is snow, though, now that I look at it. It's still cool, so what's your name, hmn?"
One would think the poor pup hadn't seen another being to talk to in years, but nope! Mani was like this all the time. He said what he thought, without thinking about the consequences. But still, even when he did get in trouble, he didn't act like it even affected him - sulking just didn't look good on the pup.
But this guy, maaaan. Talk about antisocial.

With a snort, the older male found himself asked the very thing he wasnt sure he felt like giving. His eyes closing in a sort of narrowed fashion, he shook his head again.
"Where are your parents?"
He asked, opening his eyes again and truly wishing he hadn't stopped here.
Who let their pups run around and talk like this to strangers! Had Tonrar been a mean dog, and not just anti-social, he could likely snap the little pups face up. But he knew he wouldnt.. and so maybe somehow this pup knew too..
"My name is Tonrar."
He said, looking back at the brightly hued pup.

"I don't have any parents." He said as if it were'nt such the touchy question that it was.
Manirak had never known his parents. The most the pup could remember of his much much younger days was sleeping in a cardboard box behind the butcher's shop. When he got bigger though, he had been chased of to the woods. Nope, no parents in there anywhere.
"Nice ta meet ya, Tonrar! You look like ya need a buddie. Wanna be buds?" Manirak's tail started up a whole new rythem again.

No parents? Well, it certainly explained alot, though he felt a terrible pang in his heart. He had hated his parents for awhile.. But if he hadnt had them to hate? He probably would have been the mean dog he knew he wasnt.
"Im not really looking for friends.."
He answered, looking at the pup confused. He wasnt exactly sure what a friend was. He had never had one other than Kapik, and even that had been a long time ago.
"Im not the friendly type anyway."
He explained.

"Aww, now see! That's why you need a buddie! Someone ta sow you how ta loosen' up a bit and have fun!" The pup hopped up and promtly got in a playful pose -- front end lowered to the ground, and hind end stuck up int the air, tell wagging.
"Sure, you have the dark and mysterious thing goin' for ya, but ya gotta have a lil fun in life too. Whaddaya say?" He cocked his head to the side.

Hold up, huh? Tonrar gave a glance of confusion back at the pup. Surely he was kidding. He thought he'd made it abundantly clear that he was not looking for, nor did he want any kind of buddy or friendly counterpart.
He got what he needed to survive, and friendship was only a vulnerability. You had to worry about the other one. Thats what packs did.. Notice he was no longer in his pack, but a loner on his own.
"I.. dont need friends, im perfectly capable of doing things on my own."
He said, laying his head down on his forepaws and closing his eyes.
He waited a minute, and noticing the pup still there, opened one eye.
"Why do you need me as a friend?"

"Cause" Manirak started, for one thinking about what he was going to say. He sat back down, and his ears drooped a little. "I-Iiii've been alone all my life. I've never had any friends." He then put on a small grin, wich didn't quite look right with his ears drooped like that. "And I know you said you dun want a friend but have you ever had one either? How d'you know it wouldn't be a good thing? Y'know, we're pack animals for a reason. companionship is what we're all about!" His ear finally perked.
"So, whaddaya say? Still say no?

Tonrar felt insanely bad now.. He couldn't help but look at the pup now, and see someone less fortunate than he had been. But he quickly shook the thought off.. He was sure that Mani wouldn't want Tony to feel that he felt Sorry for him. That wouldnt work at all.
His muzzle covered by his forepaws now, he huffed, and it was a very exasperated huff. Looking back at the pup, he answered.
"Aye, I have a friend. Her name is Kapik, and Im indeed very good in teh friend department.. But if you'd like to call yourself my friend, Im not going to stop you."

(I'm gonna time it like this Rp is after the one with Mani and Kapik, seeing as Kapik is being played as a teen in that one))
Manirak rumped up, tail wagging as fast as it could now.
"Alright! Thanks!" Everything about the pup seemed to brighten.
"Kapic huh? Maan! I forgot all about her! Met 'er once! She doin' alright?"
At least now they had something in common!
