i dont get it how come noone else became chunin right after the exams. shikamaru was like the only one besides kokorou who gave up but was the only one who became chunin. question question question total confusoin wahmbulance

He was promoted because the elders and other ranking ninja all agreed that he was the only one qualified to be a Chunin. Originally they weren't going to promote anyone because of whole village being attacked thing, but they felt he was qualified. heart Shikamaru.

Because he has the mind of a Chunin, if others were to become Chunin, they would lead their team to death with their hot temper. Rewatch episode where Shikamaru fought Temari, the ending part, you'll hear the proctors said something about it.

ok the reason why shikamaru became a chunin is because first of all unlike every1 esle shikamaru may not be the fastest the strongest but that isnt whats needed in a chunin a chunin has to know how to lead his squad and know his own limits naruto/ neji both are powerfull and fast but if they were chunins they would most likley attempt to do the mission by themselves which would leave the squad without a leader and then every1 would die..... GET THE PICTURE???? cool

I think it might be his calmness in practically any situation and his smarts paired with patience that is why Shika became a chuunin. I mean if anyone else was made chuunin chances are, they'd become incredibly impatient with their team and try to do it themselves.Also he has great strategic planning skills* guessing that he'd played chougi for sooo dang long*. Shika is awesome and deserves to be the chuunin he is. biggrin
