I take it you're talking about rappers. in that case, I don't really like rappers that much, some of them are fine.

I don't see any influencial rhymes in it, except girls and guys making babies, shooting people, and all that hoodrat crap. I can't say I hate all of it, though. There ARE a few who can pull off a good rap song. I personally find Kanye West's 'Stronger' Great, cause Daft Punk is in it! Kidding xD But it is something that isn't SO bad, unlike some others. I tend to listento the hip hop of the past, only cause some of it makes me laugh, Like, oh, you know, Funky Cold Medina?
Heck yeah xD

Music is my life so I luuurve rap but I also love any other genre of music that you can come up with. I mean that in the most literal sense you can think of! Rap, Hip-hop, R&B, country, Soul, Jazz, Classical so on and so forth. You name it I'll try it!
But concerning rap? It's a touchy subject I guess (ahaha~) Not all rap is bad even some of the more ridiculous rap I enjoy because I can dance to it. If you look for rap with meaning then you really should look for the older rappers because back in "the day" all rap was, was poetry with a beat and rhythm. Now if you're looking for something to just dance to older rap works just as fine but a lot of the newer tracks have some SICK beats and rhythm and the lyrics just aren't really important! There is this song I heard with a CRAZY beat and the lyrics were "I am riding down the street and I see a pretty girl. She want's me, I want her. I will take her to my world. I'M IN MY CARRRR I'M STUNTING IN MY CARRRR! YOU KNOW I'M IN MY CARRR!!" Like I said, ridiculous. But you can catch me singing it because it's funny! All music genres aren't for everyone so it's not like your forced to enjoy it. "To each his own".

I do! And not all of it is crap (though to each their own). Just most of the new stuff has lyrics people don't agree with, and messages you wouldn't want your children to get. That's understandable. I sometimes wonder if Rap is more of a cultural thing and I don't mean that in the literal sense because people from all over the world like rap but like in the sense that, if the genre music Rap was a culture. If you find the right song I think you would enjoy both the lyrics and the beat and rhythm. But clearly not every genre of music is for everyone so it's not a guarunteed thing you'll always like what you hear.

Rap has it messages but there is nothing like music that can calm your soul. So It has it place just like other music. Rock for instance gets your heart to rush with the beat. Different music for different moods in life.

Well I listen to all genres and love them equally so rap ftw. domokun
But, for me it's at certain times it's ok to listen to rap, and at others, not so much.
Like if I'm playing a video game, or an online game, I'm listening to Rock(mostly metal lately >.< KSE ftw). If I'm out with my brother clubbing, it's more rap and r&b. I'll listen to country or artists like John Mayer and Jack Johnson when I'm driving.

I have always listened to rap, but there are some artists I can't stand. First and foremost, I'm listening to the beat. if the beat isn't catchy to my ears, its not likely I will even pay attention to the lyrics until later. The lyrics come after the beat. There are some rap artists I have fallen in love with. Like 8-ball and MJG. All through my highschool years, their lyrics were lyrics that sang to my heart. Whenever you think about it, Lyrics can really move a person, no matter what genre of music. It all depends on whats in that musician's heart, coming from their mouths, into the hearts of others. Bon jovi's "Its my life" That song nearly brings tears to my eyes. its all about the meaning of the words.
